Summer (between first and second year for James,Cal,Freddy, Roxy, and Della)

Diagon Alley

Della POV

I was walking down the bustling cobblestone street heading towards Flourish and Blotts to meet up with Roxy.  We were getting dresses and shoes for the Granger-Weasley's Anniversary Ball.  I was kind of excited, it was my first ball.  I sort of know how to dance from watching films but had never tried it. That was scary in itself. I stood outside waiting for her while looking around the busy shops and chatting crowd.  I laughed watching my favorite twins bickering as their father was telling them to be quiet constantly.

"No you-"

"I did th-"

"Oh would you both bloody shut up?!" Mr.Weasley cried in exasperation.

"Hey guys!" I greeted turning to their father, nodding my head "Mr.Weasley."

He raised and eyebrow, "don't call me that, it makes me sound old.  Plus there's about a million 'Mr.Weasley's in all of Europe.  Call me George."

"Okay, George." I nodded.

"Now, you two don't cause her a migraine please.  Don't get caught.  And when your done stop by the shop and we'll floo home. Have a nice time!" He emerged back into the busy crowd. I turned to the twins.

"So where to ladies?" Freddy said,

We debated for a little while before settling on Twilfitt and Tatting's for our dresses.  Fred was tagging along though he already had dress robes.

We ventured into the bustling alley and made our way to the shop.  We searched through finding a few that we liked and tried them on with Fred as our 'judge'.  I put on every dress with Fred deciding they were right or something was wrong.

I huffed as he turned down yet another dress.  I picked up the last one.  A pastel blue ball gown with a gold swirling design at the waistline, a halter neckline and cinched waist.  I threw the dress on and walked out to Fred and Roxy talking.  Fred noticed me and his jaw dropped slightly.  I laughed as he stood there speechless, Roxy noticed and turned, following his stare to me.

"Well?" I asked and laughed again as she squealed "that's the one."

Roxy soon ran off to find 'the perfect shoes' and left a gaping Fred and I standing there.

I walked over to him and put my fingers on his chin, closing it slowly "If you keep your mouth open like that, you'll catch pixies."

He instantly shut it forcefully, blushing slightly. I giggled

"I'm guessing this is the dress?"

He snapped out of his daze and looked me up and down. Before nodding rapidly.  I giggled again, "well good, this was the last one in my choices."

He smiled, "so you saved the best for last?"

I shrugged, "this also wasn't my first option but, you didn't like the yellow cocktail dress."

He shuddered, "that was awful, you looked subpar compared to how you look right now."

I laughed as Rox came back with a pair of silver corset heels. I slipped them on, stumbling slightly as I stood up, Fred caught my waist and steadied me, I blushed and looked down, he lifted my head with his index finger under my chin,

"Don't think about falling just walk." He moved behind me and followed me closely as I walked.  I was doing well until my feet caught one another and I tripped.  Fred caught me again and helped steady me before turning me around.  I laughed to cover my blush.
