Lyra POV

I sat in my room, after cleaning up from dinner with Mum.  She shooed me to my room to owl Gino.

She's very supportive of this situation.

I grabbed a piece of parchment and dipped my quill in ink.

Now what?

What do I say?

Gino,

Ok good start...

I'd like to get to know you more...

Not too bad...

Maybe we could hang out some time?

Too much?

- Lyra.

Here goes nothing.

I sealed the letter and gave it to my owl,

Seconds later was a reply.

Bellissima,

I had to admit that I blushed at that.

It's was nice to meet you today, and I would like to meet you again soon.  Maybe tomorrow I could take you to lunch? I'll pick you up at 11 if you'd like?  If not, we'll meet at sometime soon after.

-Gino.

I felt my heart flutter and my stomach light with butterflies.

I wanted to write back immediately but I wanted to talk to mum and dad first.

I quickly walked to the living room, where I suspected they would be and luckily found them there.

"Mum? Dad?" I asked hesitantly.

"Yes, princess." Dad answered. Both their attention was on me.

"Gino offered to pick me up at eleven tomorrow for lunch?  Would that be okay?" I asked slowly.

"No-"

"Of course," Mum smiled, cutting off dad.

Dad 'hmmph'ed and slumped back in his seat like a child.

"Thank you." I beamed and headed back to my room.

Not before I heard my dad object to mum.

I laughed and sped back to my room.

Gino,

I'd love to, I live at 687 Malfoy Drive in Wiltshire.

I'll see you tomorrow, goodnight

-Lyra.

I sent off the letter and waited no lote than ten minutes for a response.

Lyra,

Can't wait, bellissima, wear something casual.

Sweet dreams, amore.

-Gino.

I felt a smile creep up on my cheeks and my heart rate increased.

I'm going on my first date!!

My first real date really...

I can't wait!!

I got ready for bed and slipped into my warm welcoming bed, still smiling like I won the quidditch World Cup.

A knock on my door forced me to compose myself.

"Come in." I said.

"We came to say Goodnight," Mum grinned as both my parents walked in.

I smiled back.

Dad sat at the bed of the bed, next to me while mum sat towards my waist.

"We love you, Lyra." Dad said, wrapping his arm around my waist and kissing my head.

I rest my head on his chest and smiled at mum who gushed at us.

"I love you too." I smiled.

"Now, you need your beauty sleep," mum said. "You have an eventful day tomorrow." She grinned.

Dad grumbled something but smoothed out my hair none the less.

"Goodnight, darling." He smiled getting up and setting me down slowly.

"Goodnight, dad."

"Night, sweetie." Mum kissed my forehead.

"Goodnight mum." I smiled.

They left, shutting the door quietly.

I soon felt myself succumb to the comfort of my bed.  I fell asleep excited for what's to come.
