Draco POV

Today that wretched boy is taking my daughter on a date.

"Draco what has the silverware ever done to you?" My wife's melodic voice breaks me from my anger.  I realized I was clutching the silverware tightly, my hands were white.  Lyra looked at me with concern and worry.

"Sorry." I grumbled, starting to eat again.

"I won't go if you're not okay with it." Lyra said quietly.

I looked up at her to see her looking at me with worry.

I looked to my love who gave me a warning look.  "No, don't worry about it sweetheart, now go get ready." I gave her a smile.

Her face lit up and she finished eating quickly before skipping out of the room.

I smiled at her happiness. That's more important to me, her happiness. Tori got up and smiled, clearing the table.  She finished quickly and walked over to my chair, sitting sideways on my lap,  I wrapped my hand around her waist and held her close to me.  My girl.  My woman, in reality,

"What's on your mind?" She asked, running her hands through my hair.

"She's grown up." I sighed resting my head on her shoulder.

"You went through this with Aquila," she said, kissing my forehead. "And you know that nothing changes, she's still here.  And you're still important to her."

I kissed her shoulder and sighed; "we just got her back, I didn't, I don't want to loose her,"

"I know," she said softly, "but she's here and we won't let her go without a fight." She reminded me.

I grinned, "how do you always know what to say?"

"It's a talent." She flipped her hair playfully.

I chuckled as she giggled. "I love you," I told her after taking a breath, "I've always loved you, and always will." I told her truthfully.

She rest her forehead against mine, "I love you too." She smiled.

The door opening brought out heads apart and made us look up.

There in the doorway stood my eldest daughter, wearing a light purple tea cup dress.  A few pieces of jewelry and her hair up in a bun.  Her makeup was done softly so her natural features showed.

She looked really grown up.

She also looked exactly like her mother.

Tori got off my lap and hugged our daughter, I stood up and stood behind them until they broke apart.

I looked at my little girl once more and almost started crying. I wrapped my arms around her small frame, feeling her hug back,  I kissed her head.

"You look beautiful, princess." I heard myself whisper.

"Thank you dad," she smiled brightly.

Her mother's smile, damn that smile.

A bell ring through the house, meaning the boy was here.

"Let's go," Tori said ushering her to the front door.

I followed them to the front door where Lyra opened the door for him.  Her face instantly lit up as she saw the flowers in his hand and the smile on his face.  Is this what I was like?  No wonder my father in law hated me.

"Hey, Gino come in." She said sweetly.

He set foot into the house giving both my wife and I the same smile.

"These are for you," he said, handing her the bouquet of flowers,

"They're beautiful," she grinned

"though they don't compare to your beauty Bella." He said smoothly, making her blush

I still hate him.

"Let me take those for you." Tori said taking the flowers softly and setting them in a vase of water the conjured. "Now you best be going, and have fun." She said in a motherly tone.

"Well, we should but, I had one question," he said, "what time should she be home by?" He asked.

He's too good.

"5 the latest." I said sternly.

"You're welcome to stay for dinner if you'd like." Tori said a lot softer than me.

"I'd love to but that would depend on if Lyra could stand me for that long." He joked. "I'll have her home by four and might take you up on that offer Mrs Malfoy." He said.

"Have fun you two." She called after them as Lyra pulled him out of the house.

Soon after the door closed it opened again and Lyra ran back in giving me a hug and kiss on the cheek. "Thank you for giving him a a chance." She said, before hugging her mom.

"Who says he's got one?" I asked.

"The fact that you didn't hex him through the wall the second he set foot in the house." She grinned and skipped out to join the boy.

"She's got a point you know." Tori smirked at me.

"I wouldn't deliberately jeopardize my daughter's happiness." I said matter of factly.

Tori smiled and walked over, wrapping her arms around my waist. "You've gone soft." She said softly.

"Only for my family." I grinned and captured her lips.

"I love you Draco Malfoy." She grinned.

"I love you more Astoria Greengrass." I said, kissed her once more.
