Chapter 32: "Hold On"

Two months later, infirmary Wing...

Scorpius POV

I sat in a chair next to my twin while reading 'Tales of Beedle the Bard' to her. I miss her a lot. I miss her witty comebacks, her calming aura, her bright smile and sparkling eyes.

There's still no word about any successful leads, but the papers did find out.

*cough* Skeeter *cough*

And now the wizarding world finds itself with another dilemma. And this time, we are way behind than the second wizarding war. At least then they knew who was behind... well... everything because all answers pointed to him or it, as I like to call it.

I hope they do find out soon. I hope she does wake up soon. I hope everything goes back to normal.

Oh who am I kidding.

Friends with Potters, Weasleys, Grangers, Zabinis, Scammanders, Longbottoms, Parkinsons, Notts...

...yeah normal ain't an option.

I looked back to my sister who looked a bit more like she was sleeping than like she was dead. The image of her the first night was traumatizing. I never want to see her like that again.

Pomfrey told us she was doing better and could possibly wake up before the end of the school year.  So that's something.  

My brothers and I come to visit once a day, sometimes in shifts.

I sighed, finishing the story and setting it on the table next to her bed. 

I took her hand, it felt warmer but, it was cold.  I kissed the back of it.

"I hope you wake up soon, twinie" I wispered and walked to the Great Hall for Lunch.

Meanwhile in McGonagall's office,

Victoire POV

I stood near the floo in McGonagall's office waiting for Teddy to show so we can head to St.Minho's together.  

Today I get my first image of the baby since Pomfrey didn't want to do it frequently with prying eyes.  Yes Rita Skeeter, I'm talking to you.

I glanced at the clock, two more minutes till the appointment.

Where is Teddy?

I paced until the familiar roar came from the fireplace. 

"Sorry I'm late." He said dusting off his robes, "They kept me late to sort through some things." 

I smiled at him and kissed his cheek, "well you're here now.  Are you ready?"

He nodded and took my hand.  We walked into the fireplace and he through the powder down.  We soon found ourselves in the white walls that made up the hospital.  I walked over to the desk.

"I think I have to check in." I said to the nurse.  She looked up and smiled.

"Okay, name?"

"Lupin."

She looked through her log, "ah yes, you can take a seat if you'd like.  A healer will be with you shortly." 

I thanked her before sitting down next to Teddy.  

We didn't wait long before we heard

"Lupin."

We followed the witch into a room where she told me to lay back on the bed.  I complied and pulled up my shirt, past my showing bump.  

She performed a few spells before turning back to look at us. 

"Everything seems fine.  They are healthy and growing accordingly."

I looked at Teddy, 

"Hold on" he blurted. "They?"

She nodded and looked at us confused, "Yes, your having twins."

I glanced between Teddy, my stomach, and the mediwitch.  

"Twins?" I asked, just to clarify.

She nodded, "would you like to know the genders?"

I looked at Teddy who nodded.  

She cast a spell over my stomach that made a picture float before us.  It looked like a muggle ultrasound from what I've seen.  

She pointed to the figure on the left, "A boy." And then the one on the right, "and a girl."

I looked over to see Teddy, fixated on the image.

"Thank you doctor" I said as the image disappeared.

She smiled, "I would like to see you again in about a month.  I will contact your headmistress to make the appointment."

I nodded and Teddy helped me up form the table.  We walked to the floo and headed to Diagon Ally.

We went to a small cafe and ordered lunch.  Not speaking a word. Silence.  But it killed me.

"Teddy, please say something." I whispered.

He looked me in the eye, "Are you sure you're ready for this?"

I sighed, "I don't know Ted, I'm not sure.  But I am sure that I want you to be by my side through the whole thing.  I don't want to be alone.  One was scary enough, two is not the same."

He smiled, "I will always be by your side Vic.  I love you and our kids, yes already.  And I'm not going anywhere and leaving you alone.  Especially with a kid with my genes, I'm a nightmare."

I laughed, oddly enough he was right.

I placed my hands on my stomach, "Have you been thinking of any names?"

He looked a little in thought, "I wanted something with my parents.  Maybe Remus for the boy?" I smiled and nodded.

"What about Remus William Lupin?" He suggested. 

I though about it. It did sound nice, "I like it."

"Any girls names?" I wondered.

"I read a book on French names, the a French to English translation because the book was in French."

I laughed.  He wasn't all that good with French.  Just like Papa.  We tried to teach them, they never could.

"And?"

"Tresor or Cherir.  I liked those.  Tresor because she would be my treasure and Cherir because I would always cherish her."

I smiled. "You are going to be one of those over protective fathers, aren't you?" I raised my eyebrow.

"No, but she's not allowed to date unless she's graduated from any of the fine wizarding schools."

I laughed, "Teddy, she's gonna use our relationship as an example."

"Then she'll be homeschooled."

I shook my head. 

"I like Tresor.  Tresor Nymphadora Lupin?"

He smiled at me. "Tresor Nymphadora Lupin and Remus William Lupin.  Perfect."

He took my hand and kissed the engagement ring on it. 

"I love you, now and forever."

I smiled, "forever and always."
