Standing patiently in the waiting room, Hinata stared blankly at the set of double doors. After a week and having no negative changes within his body, he was being released. Free to go back to 'normal' life.Hinata Shoyo would no longer have a normal life; not that he ever had a normal life to begin with. This moment, and the moments to come, would be short-lived. Though Hinata wanted to make his last moments with the one he loved last forever.
Kageyama Tobio: Hinata's partner and best friend, boyfriend too. The person Hinata both loathed and looked up to during his middle school years. The anger he once felt after that first game with Kageyama only dwindled after weeks of getting to know the guy.
He was so closed off and angry, you could never go a day without irritating him or getting hit across the head. And not to mention, he would never set the way his teammates wanted him to. He played to his own advantage and didn't consider what the others felt.
Up until a few months ago, you'd simply consider him an asshole and move on with your day.
His selfish acts were soon cut off by the abandonment of his teammates and the opening of true teamwork and friends. After meeting the "sun," or as you know him, Hinata Shoyo, Kageyama was given the chance to realize that he would never again be abandoned.
Instead of hopelessly tossing the ball and worrying whether or not anyone would be there, Kageyama could freely set as fast and hard as he wanted, knowing the one person he came to trust with his entire being would be one step ahead of him; Already in sync with Kageyama's movements as he slammed the ball down, giving reassurance that he was there.
The freak duo was a pair that could never be separated, for they were invincible together.
Staring out the glass doors, huge puffy clouds floated peacefully in the sky, giving slight shade to the world below them. Outside was quiet and free of unnecessary noise as the close forest shifted along with the slight breeze.
For New Year's Eve, you could say the setting was perfect.
Hinata continued to stay standing, admiring the world around him, just outside the hospital. Meanwhile, Kageyama tried his best to look presentable.
After many hours (or what felt like hours) of choosing between his only three outfits and two different cologne brands, he finally settled on a t-shirt paired with dark jeans and the more musky scented fragrance.
His New Years date plan was already in action. Brought to you by tsukishima kei: making dates happen when neither partner knows what they're doing. 25% off if you entertain him.
It was decided that tsukishima would hold on to the papers until Kageyama was ready to gift them to Hinata. This would ensure that no damage would come to the letter and also that Kageyama wouldn't become impatient.
Tsukishima drove in content, secretly enjoying his part in helping with Hinata's date. He honestly couldn't care less about Kageyama and only tolerated him because it benefitted Hinata.
The drive took no more than 35 minutes and Kageyama grew more eager as the seconds passed.
Seeing the flash of a familiar silver car, Hinata's mood jumped before diminishing without time for a happy thought.
He took a long, steadying breath and pushed at the doors, opening them to a chilling gust of wind. After a slight shiver, he walked out and waited at the curb.
As the sleek car slowly pulled up, it seemed as if the passenger door opened before coming to a complete stop.
Kageyama swung the door open to which tsukishima huffed but refrained from complaining.
