Chapter 18

The team stood outside the bus. The time read 7:25 am. Everyone groaned as they got on, still tired from either lack of sleep, or practicing too hard the day before.

Hinata took a window seat, Kageyama sitting next to him right after.

"What do you think those people are gonna be looking for?" Hinata stretched and glanced at Kageyama. "Huh? Who? For what?" Hinata punched him in the arm "The scouting agents or whatever! They're gonna be watching us and I just wonder what they're choose people based off of. Blocking? Receiving? Spiking?" Kageyama sighed "Probably all-around good players with a sense of the court. Ya know, able to make accurate and quick decisions when needed."

Hinata thought for a moment "Do you think they'd pick me?" Kageyama grinned "And what makes you think they'd pick someone who still can't do a proper receive, huh?"

"Hey! I can do a proper receive...usually..but that's not the point!" Hinata pouted "I'm good at other stuff..." he mumbled.

Kageyama gripped the top of Hinata head, causing him to look up with a distorted face "You jump kinda..high...alright you can jump weirdly high. I don't know how you get so high in the air but that might catch the attention of whoever's watching us.." he looked away, embarrassed at his inability to compliment "...Just jump as high as you can, higher than before, and I'll send you sets that are sure to be noticed, okay..?" Hinata grinned "Okay!"

"Well if it isn't my little kohai, tobio-chan. Oh? And chibi-chan is here too!" Oikawa 'greeted,' earning a slap to the back of his head by iwaizumi. "Please, ignore his dumbass. That tone of his makes me sick." Oikawa pouted toward iwa "So mean, I'm just saying hi to the little crows." Iwaizumi just glared "You're being a brat." Oikawa straightened up "All I did was say hi to tobio-chan and chibi-chan. Speaking of the little shrimp.." he directed his voice toward the two karasuno boys "..Didn't you want to improve your serve or something. I heard from a teammate of yours. I'm always available" he winked.

Kageyama muttered under his breath and narrowed his eyes. He knew oikawa was just a flirty person and nothing would happen between him and Hinata, but he just...didn't like him. He glanced over at Hinata, who was currently beaming with excitement "Really?! You'd teach me? I get to learn from the grand king!"

Oikawa glanced at Kageyama then back at Hinata with a smirk "The one and only! Say, are you dating anyone, shrimpy?" He wrapped an arm over Hinata's shoulder and began walking away, leaving a fuming Kags and irritated iwa. "Just..don't." Iwaizumi put an arm in front of Kageyama to stop him from..whatever he was thinking of doing. He looked about ready to tackle oikawa.

Kageyama let out a breath and tried to calm down. It's just oikawa, there's no need to get so worked up. That's what oikawa does. He gets under your skin before a game to make sure you're not completely focused. That's it.

He took a step back and uttered a "thanks" before finding his way back to his team.

"So, are you dating someone?" Oikawa asked as he rounded a corner, making sure no one was around. Hinata blushed "M-maybe." Oikawa smirked and walked directly in front of him, causing the smaller boy to look up "Didn't know you had a thing for arrogance." Hinata lifted a brow "Huh?" Oikawa chuckled a bit and continued "It's pretty clear you like tobio, I just didn't think it would ever happen. He doesn't seem like the type to be in a relationship..it's hard to imagine."

"He's not that bad! He's nice..usually. And he sends me really cool sets! Sometimes he even shares his milk with me!" Hinata beamed.

Oikawa CacKlEd "I bet he does, shrimpy. I bet he does. So, are you two an item or not?" Hinata went back to being flustered "Yeah...we've been dating since.." he thought for a moment, not really sure exactly when they started dating. He guessed it was earlier in the week when he asked. "I guess we've been officially dating since the beginning of the week...although we sorta realized our feelings for each other a bit before that" he said with a nervous smile.
