Kageyama ran as fast as his legs would allow him, ignoring everything but the path in front of him. After about five or six minutes of running, he slowed a bit as he neared the crosswalk tsukishima spoke of. There, he saw Hinata sitting cross-legged on the sidewalk while fidgeting with his fingers. He looked so calm and beautiful, as if he were in his own world.Kageyama calmed his breathing and pounding heart before he walked to Hinata, who simply looked up with curious eyes. "What're you doing down there?" Kageyama teased, earning a small smile from Hinata. "Well" he stumbled through his words "I guess I'm kinda stuck..." Kageyama stared down at Hinata, simply admiring the way his flushed face paired with the orange tones in his hair. "Want some help?" He said with a smile. That same perfect smile he was able to show whenever alone with Hinata. It came so naturally that he never noticed how different it was from his usual attempts, typically around the team.
Hinata looked down and said in a low tone "Yeah...please.." Kageyama offered out a hand which Hinata gladly accepted. He helped him to his feet and noticed he was able to stand almost normally now "How does your leg feel? Any better?" Hinata nodded, grabbing Kageyamas arm for support "It's feeling a lot better! I just can't walk too much or it starts to hurt really bad.." Kageyama gave a small smile as he grabbed Hinata's arms and pulled him closer. He didn't mean to, but he mostly acted on instinct. If Hinata was close to him, he was safe, right? That's all that made sense in Kageyamas head.
Hinata felt his face immediately heat up the second he was pulled closer in the grasp of his setter. He didn't know exactly what to do so he just looked up, wondering what Kageyama looked like at the moment. He was met with two blue eyes. They were beautiful. Staring into them felt like time had stopped, like they were the only two in the world.
Kageyama stared into Hinata's big, copper-brown eyes with his head empty. The only thing that wandered his mind right now was Hinata. He wanted Hinata all to himself. Right now. He wanted to pick him up and kiss him senseless. He wanted Hinata's soft and delicate pink lips to caress his own...that's all he wanted. But he knew he couldn't, not right now at least. After all, Hinata left out of nowhere right after getting somewhat close to him. He figured making a move right now would only drive Hinata away, which he would never want.
Hinata was greeted with a strange sense of loneliness as Kageyama broke eye contact and loosened his grip. He craved the touch of his setter and when that sensation was gone, he was left with the feeling of emptiness. This broke something in him, he didn't feel anything now. He realized his idea of telling Kageyama about his current situation would be pointless, would only result in problems. There was no use in dragging his friend into his life just to say 'here, my father abuses me and I slice my skin to feel relief, I'm also living with tsukishima.' The whole thing now seemed ridiculous to Hinata.
Kageyama took a step back and offered out his arms "Want me to..carry you?" He asked, still flustered from being so close to Hinata. Hinata just nodded, he knew this was the only way he'd be able to get to school right now. Even if it meant being carried by his favorite person who he couldn't have.
Kageyama picked him up off his feet bridal style and held him close. Although he was sure Hinata didn't feel the same way he did, every moment alone like this was still enjoyable.
"Hey...Hinata?" Kageyama asked. Hinata lifted his head a bit and looked up "Yeah?" Kageyama kept walking for a few seconds before saying "I'm sorry...about last night." This confused Hinata. Why was he apologizing? He was the one who left out of nowhere with no explanation. "What why? You didn't do anything." Kageyama continued "I..I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. I'm guessing that's why you left. I should've slept somewhere else so I wasn't so close to you I- I didn't mean to..."
