Kageyama froze. He expected Hinata to just say to set him on the bed. "Sure" his voice cracked as he forced out the word. He sat in the chair, gently setting Hinata in his lap. Kageyama began to study Hinata and the way he felt in his arms. The bright-haired boy seemed even smaller when in Kageyamas lap. He found it adorable and smiled a bit, still staring down at him. He also noticed how warm Hinata was, and how soft his skin felt against his own. After a few more moments of staring and sitting in silence, Kageyama reached over and ran a hand through Hinata's hair, desperate to know if it felt as soft as it looked. He hadn't even realized he did that until he felt Hinata shift his head and look up at him.

Hinata sat in Kageyamas lap feeling safe and secure. He didn't know exactly what to do so he just stayed silent, taking in small details. At first, he noticed the faint scent of cologne. He never noticed it before but...he liked it.

After being carried and now sitting in his arms, Hinata noticed how strong Kageyama was. Kageyama seemed genuinely lean and on the thinner side but he was definitely hiding some muscles under that jersey. Hinata blushed at the thought before he soon felt a hand on his head.

After allowing his hair to be played with for a bit, Hinata looked up, curious as to what expression would be on Kageyamas face as he played with his hair. It was unexpected coming from Kageyama.

Kageyama met Hinata's eyes and blushed. "Uh..sorry..I just...your hair looked soft and.." he tried to explain himself and clearly failed, quickly pulling his hand away from Hinata's hair, realizing he never stopped touching it. Hinata just giggled "Does my hair really look that soft bakayama?" Kageyama eased up, glad Hinata didn't seem like he was in so much pain anymore "Well..yeah, it does. It also looks like an orange highlighter." He figured a small insult would steer the topic away from him randomly touching Hinata's hair.

"No it doesn't" Hinata claimed in a pouty voice "you're hair looks like..like..." he tried to think of something to return the insult but couldn't think of any bad points in the setter. He seemed all too perfect to Hinata. Kageyama smirked "You can't even think of a good comeback, boke." This made Hinata frustrated "Yes I can just..give me a minute.." he tried to think of something, anything to say in return but ended up only sitting there for a straight minute in silence.

Watching the smaller boy struggle in thought, Kageyama figured now would be a good time to ask some questions: while Hinata was here and unable to leave. "Hey Hinata?" Hinata looked up "Yeah Kageyama?" Kageyama looked down at him, thinking of what he wanted to ask first. "Why did you and Tsukishima get here together?" Hinata was quick to answer, having already though of an excuse earlier that morning "I guess it was just a coincidence. I saw him get here at the same time as me and we ended up walking in at the same time." Kageyama decided not to think too much of it for now. Although the fact that Tsukishima seemed so keen on defending Hinata earlier still wandered his thoughts. "Oh..alright. Are you feeling any better?" he asked in a low tone, feeling guilty about what happened. "Oh yeah! My leg still hurts but..not too much. And don't worry about how you hit me with the ball, I'm always getting hit in the face so I'm used to it!" Hinata said this with confidence. Kageyama smiled a little "I don't think that's something to be proud of.." Hinata just smiled brightly in return.

The nurse then walked in and gave a smile at the two boys "Alright, I'm guessing you're the injured one" she gestured at Hinata who was still sitting comfortably in Kageyamas lap. "Yeah." Hinata said with a small chuckle. "Oh uh..do you need me to put him on the bed?" Kageyama questioned, not really wanting to let him go. The nurse smiled and gave them a 'look', a look that said 'I see what's going on'. "Of course not, as long as I have access to his leg then he can stay right where he is. I'm sure he'd be more comfortable staying there than moving anyway." She looked at Hinata as if to say 'is that alright with you?' Hinata gave a nod and looked up at Kageyama, who now had an almost relieved look on his face due to the fact that he didn't have to hand over his little tangerine. The nurse walked over to them and began asking questions.
