Chapter Forty-One, We've got mail

~Momoko's P.O.V~

"Brick! Brick there finally here", I said excitedly as I ran back into the apartment. Brick had just turned the corner coming back into the living room causing me to slam into him. "Whoa easy there tiger", brick said as he stumbled backwards. "I'm sorry! But here is your mail!", I said excitedly as I handed brick a package he had got in the mail. "Is this our cap and gowns?", brick asked as he smiled. "Sure is", I said as I held up my box. "Well what are we waiting for? Lets go open them!", brick said excitedly as he grabbed my hand and led me into the kitchen. Brick let go of my hand as we both set our boxes down on the counter. Brick quickly opened a drawer and pulled out two knives. "Don't accidentally cut yourself", brick said as he handed me a knife. "Don't worry. Ill be careful", I said as I smiled. Brick and I both used the knives to cut the tape sealing the box. I set the knife down on the counter then opened the box to see a folded black fabric. I quickly reached into the box and pulled it out. I unfolded it and held it out in front of me. I can't believe it.. My gown for graduating high school.. It seemed like this day would never come. "Oh man these look sick! I can't believe we graduate Saturday", brick said. "It's not that far away.. Tomorrow is our last day", I said. "Thank god because I'm so tired of taking exams. We have been taking them all week", brick said. "They're so exhausting", I said. "I know.. I fell asleep during the last one. Luckily the guy next to me woke me up", brick said. "Try not to fall asleep tomorrow during the test", I said. "Don't worry.. I'm gonna drink a ton of energy drinks to keep me awake", brick said. "Brick I don't think that's a good idea", I said. "Why? it will keep me awake", brick said. "We are supposed to sit in the same spot for hours taking those tests.. If you drink energy drinks your going to have to much energy to sit still", I said as I smirked. "I think I can manage", brick said. "Hey you guys in here?", a voice called. It sounds like butch. "We're in the kitchen", I called back to butch. Butch and kaoru both walked into the kitchen holding opened boxes. "Seriously it's a bad idea. You shouldn't do it", I said as I folded my gown and put it back in the box. "I'll be fine", brick said. "What's a bad idea?", butch asked. "Brick thinks he should drink a bunch of energy drinks to keep him awake during the test tomorrow", I said. "Yeah that's a terrible idea", kaoru said. "No way I think it's smart! Brick will be so energetic and will bug the crap out of the guy he is sitting next to!", butch said. "Yeah but your the guy he is sitting next to!", kaoru said. "How do you know that?", butch asked. "Because I looked at the seating chart. They posted it outside the office yesterday", kaoru said. "Brick don't you dare drink any energy drinks! i need to focus as much as i can", butch said. "How am I supposed to stay awake then?", brick asked. "If you feel tired just give me a nudge and ill pinch you really hard to make you wake up", butch said as he smirked. "No way", brick said. "Look maybe we can stop for a cup of coffee?", I said. "Just one?", brick asked. "Yes just one! Nothing to strong either!", butch said. "Ugh fine", brick said as he crossed his arms. "Why don't you just go to sleep earlier tonight", I said. "Ahh come on.. Going to bed early is lame", brick said. "Don't worry. This will be the last time you have to go to sleep early for awhile. You will have all summer to stay up late", I said. "I guess your right", brick said. "Make sure he gets to sleep momoko.. I don't want him fidgeting during the whole test next to me", butch said. "I'll do my best", I said as I smiled. "Don't be afraid to punch him and knock him out", butch joked as he smirked. "Hey!", brick said as he looked at butch. "Oh get real! Like I'd ever punch brick on purpose", I said. "I was just kidding", butch said as he smirked. "You have a dark sense of humor", kaoru said. "Yep. It's one of my best qualities", butch said smirked at kaoru. "Oh jeez", kaoru said as she smiled and rolled her eyes. "So anyways.. What's for dinner? I'm starving", butch said as he clapped his hands together. "Who said you could have dinner with us?", brick asked. "Hello.. Momoko did", butch said in a cocky way as he crossed his arms. "I did?", I asked. "Yeah.. Remember when you to first got this place? You said we could come up and have dinner with you guys any time we wanted", butch said. "Oh... I did say that", I said. "Oh great now we're stuck with you!", brick said as he smirked at his brother. "Well I hope you like spicy food.. Brick wanted me to make spicy chicken and rice", I said. "Are you kidding? I live for spicy food", butch said as he smiled. "Well your in luck. It's on the stove cooking right now", I said. "Kaoru, are you staying for dinner as well?", brick asked. "Yeah I guess I'll stay", kaoru said. "We should invite miyako and boomer for dinner to", I said. "Nah don't worry about it. They're not even here. Boomer said he was going to walk her home", kaoru said. "That's really sweet of him", I said. "Boomer is always sweet", kaoru said. "So is miyako. That's what makes them such a good couple", Brick said. "That's why they hardly ever fight", butch said. "I think I've only seen them fight once and that was a few weeks ago when we was having a discussion about the punks creator", kaoru said. "I don't think I've ever seen miyako get so pissed off before", butch said. "Oh I've seen her get so pissed that I thought she was gonna rip some ones head off", kaoru said. "When was this?", butch asked. "In ninth grade biology they wanted us to dissect a frog and miyako was furious about it", kaoru said. "I remember that!", I said as I chuckled. "I thought she was gonna rip our teachers head off", kaoru said. "She was right though.. I think it's horrible that they kill so many frogs just so we can dissect them", I said. "There just frogs", butch said. "They are a living life! You shouldn't kill an animal for that!", I said. "So that chicken in your chicken and rice is dead!", butch said. "That's different! Some one killed that chicken for food! Some one killed the frog so high school students could poke it with a knife! Animals have rights to you know!", I said. "Okay PETA", butch said as he smirked. I smiled as I rolled my eyes. "Alright.. Shut up before she turns into a vegetarian.. Then she will never cook anything with meat in it", brick said. "That would suck for you!", butch said. "I know! I'd miss the bacon", brick said. "She makes you bacon?", butch asked. "Yeah like almost every morning", brick said. "What?! Why am I never invited over for breakfast?!", butch asked as he crossed his arms. "Because your not special enough!", brick said as he smirked. "Brick! no its because you sleep until the very last minute butch", I said as I elbowed brick in the arm. "Ow hey!", brick said as he rubbed his arm. "Hey ill wake up five minutes earlier to get some bacon", butch said. "Butch you could just go to the main kitchen and cook it for yourself", kaoru said. "Yeah right! You know I'd burn it! Or catch the whole building on fire!", butch said. "Butch please just stay away from any stove! I'm sorry but your cooking skills suck", I said. "They don't suck!", butch said. "Yes they do! You burned my toaster waffle! How do you burn toaster waffles? The toaster pops up the waffle when it's done", I said. "That toaster was broken!", butch said. "It had worked fine for me the day before", kaoru said. "Thanks for your support honey!", butch said sarcastically. "Any time", kaoru said as she smirked. "Hey you know what... I don't think you've ever cooked for me. I bet you have just as bad of cooking skills as I do!", butch said as he poked kaoru's arm. "I've made you breakfast before!", kaoru said as she crossed her arms. "Cereal doesn't count kaoru!", butch said. "I know how to cook! I've seen my mom cook like a gazillion times", kaoru said. "Watching some one else make food doesn't mean you know how to cook", butch said. "Nah kaoru knows how to cook. She made me an egg once when I stayed the night with her", I said. "See! I can cook", kaoru said. "Oh that was just an egg", butch said. "Well I cooked it better than you could of!", kaoru said. "Brick! Tell her I made eggs for you once!", butch said. "Actually he is right. He made me eggs once", brick said. "See", butch said. "But... I asked for an egg that was over easy so I could dip my toast in the yoke but butch over cooked it so my yoke was hard", brick said. "Hah!", kaoru said as she pointed at butch. "Okay okay! You two should stop before you guys end up having a fight", I said. Butch sighed as he rubbed his arm. "I guess Momoko's right.. I don't want to fight with you", butch said. "Yeah I don't want to fight either", kaoru said. "So any ways. We came up to see if you guys got your mail today but it looks like you did", butch said. "I was so excited when I seen that we got our cap and gowns in the mail", I said. "Yeah and I probably have a bruise to prove it to. You ran into me pretty hard", brick said as he smiled. "Oh how was I supposed to know you was coming around the corner at the same time I was?", I said. "You two should where bells like on a cat collar. Then you will always hear each other and you won't have to worry about running into each other", butch joked. "We will think about it", brick said sarcastically. "So uh anyways I see you guys got your cap and gowns to. Have you showed your parents, kaoru?", I asked. "I showed my mom.. My dads out of town for his job", kaoru said. "What? He will be back for Saturday right?", I asked. "Yeah he will be back Saturday morning... He was actually supposed to meet butch this week but he had to leave on business", kaoru said. "So will he meet butch before graduation?", I asked. "Probably not since we're gonna be so busy getting ready for graduation. But they will get to meet over dinner", kaoru said. "Boomer is meeting miyako's grandma over dinner to", butch said. "So hopefully it's not to awkward with both the guys meeting parents and grand parents", kaoru said. "Oh you guys are all going together?", I asked in confusion. Butch and kaoru both looked at me in confusion as well. "You do know that your parents will be there to right?", kaoru asked. "They are?", I asked. "Wait... You do realize that your supposed to go to right?", butch asked. "What? When did every one plan this?", I asked. "Our parents decided all of this", kaoru said. "What? Why are we the last to know?", I asked referring to brick and I. "Kuriko told us to tell you about it", kaoru said. "Some messengers you guys are!", I said as I smiled. "Didn't butch tell you?", kaoru asked. "Wait.. I thought you told her?", butch said. "No I asked you to tell her because I had to leave", kaoru said. "I don't remember that", butch said. "Well you was busy stuffing your face when I told you", kaoru said. "Hey when I'm eating I don't pay attention to any thing except my food", butch said as he smirked. "Whoa wait when did you guys find out?", I asked. "I dunno? Last week?", kaoru said. "Remind me to never have you guys pass on a message for me", brick said as he smirked.
