Chapter sixteen, A new life

~Momoko's P.O.V~

i opened my eyes to the faint light shining into my room. i sat up slowly and looked around my room. i smiled realizing brick's room was the next room over. i quickly got out of bed and went to my closet and got some clothes out. i quickly changed and went into the bathroom to brush my teeth. after i brushed my teeth i brushed my hair and put my bow into my hair. i quickly walked from my room to brick's. i knocked on the door a few times but he didn't answer. i slowly pushed the door open and looked in. "brick?", i asked as i looked around. he wasn't there. he must be down stairs in the kitchen. i quickly walked to the elevator. once i was inside i pressed the button and the elevator doors closed and started to go down. once the elevator stopped and the doors opened i walked to the kitchen to see brick and his brothers eating some cereal. "morning momo", brick said as he smiled at me. "morning bricky", i said as i walked over to him and kissed him on his cheek. "so how was the first night living on your own?", boomer asked. "it was great", i said. "so do you think your parents are awake yet?", brick asked. "yeah probably", i said. "do you think there pissed?", brick asked. "maybe. maybe kuriko will call me and tell me about it", i said as i sat down next to brick. "hey guys", kaoru called as she and miyako walked in. "hey", butch and boomer said as they smiled. "hi boomie", miyako said as she gave boomer a kiss on the cheek and sat down next to him. kaoru sat down next to butch. "so did moving out go well?", kaoru asked. "yeah i guess so. my parents didn't wake up or any thing but they locked me out. they even took the key from under the welcome mat", i said. "that's harsh", kaoru said. "what tore me up the most was seeing kuriko. the only way we could get into my house was crawling through my bedroom window. and once we was i found kuriko sitting on the floor crying holding a picture of us", i said sadly. "aw. what did you do?", miyako asked. "i talked to her a little bit and told her it would be better for me to go.", i said. "you should of heard her singing to kuriko last night. i thought i was going to cry. and i don't ever cry", brick said. "after i told kuriko she should go to bed she wanted me to sing to her like i used to when we were kids.", i said, "if you guys could have seen her poor little face. you wouldn't of wanted to leave her. it was so sad". "she really is going to miss you", miyako said. "i told her she could come visit any time she wanted", i said. "aren't you afraid of her finding out who we are if she is here allot?", kaoru asked. "no, i'm not afraid of that", i said as i shot brick a (don't say a word) glare. i decided it would be best if i didn't tell my friends that kuriko knew who we really were. kaoru would just be pissed so i figure its best to be kept a secret. "so what are we going to do today?", kaoru asked. "i don't know", butch said as he shrugged his shoulders. "probably just hang out here i guess", i said. every thing was silent for a few seconds. until my cell phone rang. i quickly pulled it out from my pocket. the caller I.D picture was kuriko. "kuriko", i softly muttered as i see the picture. i quickly answer the phone. "hello?", i said. "momoko!", kuriko said excitedly. "whats up? is some thing wrong?", i asked. "no nothings wrong. but do you think we can hang out today? maybe go for a walk in the park or some thing. you know if your not to busy", kuriko said. "of course we can go for a walk. i'm not busy at all. i'll come pick you up okay?", i said. "okay i'll see you then", kuriko said. "alright bye kuriko", i said. "bye momoko", kuriko said. i hung up the phone and slid it back into my pocket. "well i guess i'm going to hang out with kuriko today", i said as i stood up. "leaving right now?", kaoru asked. "yeah i'll see you guys later okay?", i said. brick lifted his head up and looked at me. i leaned down and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. "bye momo. say hi to kuriko for me", brick said. "bye bricky and i will", i said as i started to walk out of the kitchen.

after i picked up kuriko i drove her to the park. obviously not the park berserk and i destroyed. there has been construction men working on that park since the day after the fight happened. this park was kind of in a sketchy part of town. there was allot of old abandon buildings. "so mom was pretty upset this morning when she found your key and the note", kuriko said. "so she was mad?", i asked. "no she was sad", kuriko said. "i thought she was mad at me! if she wasn't mad then why did she lock me out?", i asked. "maybe she knew you would come in the middle of the night to get your things. so she locked you out hoping you would wait until the morning so you two could talk", kuriko said. "maybe", i said. "she cried when she seen that your room was empty", kuriko said. "she cried?", i said. "yeah", kuriko said. "i feel bad", i said. "well don't be. your doing the right thing. it will be easier for you to do your job", kuriko said. "i know but i really hurt them", i said. "i know you wanted to move out after high school. so whats the difference between now and then? mom and dad probably would still be upset", kuriko said. "it was the way i told them. i didn't want to tell them like that. i wanted to tell them at a dinner or over coffee or some thing", i said. "what's done is done. it was fate", kuriko said. "yeah i guess your right", i said. "at least now you get to live in the same building as brick", kuriko said as she playfully pushed me. "soon we will have our own apartment", i said. "really?", kuriko asked. "yeah the lab is pretty big. there is actually a couple of apartments built in there. the professor and ken have one. they do have a kitchen out if the open for any one to use to", i said. "so you only have a bed room there?", kuriko asked. "yeah a bedroom and a bathroom. when were hungry we go to the main kitchen for food", i said. "so when are you moving into the apartment?", kuriko asked. "brick's birthday. it's going to be a surprise for him", i said as i smiled. "i bet he will like that", kuriko said. "yeah", i said as i smiled thinking about what it would be like to live with brick. there was a moment of silence between us. "so have you talked to ken lately?", i asked breaking the silence. "not since the BBQ", kuriko said. "what!?", i asked. "we don't really talk to much", kuriko said. "that will change! i will make him call you! i know he has feelings for you. he is probably just nervous.", i said. "he is really shy", kuriko said. "so do you think you two will become boyfriend and girlfriend?", i asked. "maybe", kuriko said shyly as she blushed. i laughed as i put my arm around her shoulders and pulled her into a half hug. kuriko laughed to. i love having sister moments like these. these are the moments i will cherish forever.
