Chapter Twenty, Nine- Trying to figure things out

~Momoko's P.O.V~

we all sat at a table eating a bowl of cereal. we had just got back into the real world and now we are trying to explain things to the professor. "what was it like in there?", ken asked. "well it felt real. it was like we were in a normal world", i said. "yeah until the ruffs got kidnapped", kaoru said. "the ruffs got kidnapped?", the professor asked. "yeah by mojo", miyako said. "but it was kind of a good thing we got kidnapped because if we didn't we would probably still be in there trying to figure out how to get out of there", boomer said. "how did you guys figure it out?", kuriko asked. "well at first we were going to find the edge of the simulation and try to fly through it like it was a wall but when we hit it nothing happened", brick said. "when we hit it we all blacked out.. the young puffs saved us but couldn't get the guys in time.. so when they went looking for them they couldn't find them because mojo got to them first", kaoru said. "wait young puffs?", professor asked. "yeah we met our 13 year old selves in there", i said. "so how did you get out?", ken asked. "well we went to ace's house because we thought the gang green gang had them but they didn't.. then ace insulted brick so i got mad and threw a fire ball at him and he just disappeared and a voice said the hero's had a point and the villains didn't so it was just a game and we had to get points to win", i said. "interesting.. we some how created a video game?", professor said as he looked at ken. professor and ken started to talk about science stuff. kuriko nodded her head every now and then because she knew some of the things they were talking about. unlike the rest of us who never paid attention in science class. after they stopped talking about there science stuff ken asked,"so how did you find the ruffs?". "the young ruffs helped us.. and when we killed mojo we had 6 points so we ended up winning and it brought us back here", kaoru said. "so was it cool meeting your younger selves?", kuriko asked. "it was weird but in a cool way", brick said. i thought it was really cool meeting young me... it was weird. when i was with her it never seemed like she was me.. it seemed like she was just a younger sister to me. she looked up to me like i was an older sister or even a mother. "was meeting youself cool?", kuriko asked me, snapping me out of my thought. "yeah it was pretty cool", i said as i smiled. "im so sorry that happened to you guys... i knew i never should of sent you guys in the arena", professor said sadly. he must feel responsible.. "professor it is a good thing you sent us in there!", i said. "what?", professor asked. "we learned some thing in there that can help us in real life", i said. "what never fly into walls?", butch asked jokingly. "professor do you know a man named james plutonium?", i asked ignoring butch's joke. "yes i went to school with him?", the professor said as he looked at me questionably. "he had three daughters right?", i asked. "yes.. i met then at our 10 year reunion. i can't recall there names but they were terrible children", professor said. "we think those girls are the punks", i said. "how did you know about that guy?", ken asked. "we saw a picture in your photo album and we recognized the punks", i said. "ill go get the album", ken said as he got up and quickly walked out of the room. "so if those girls are the punks. what do you plan on doing?", professor asked. "well we want to go talk to him", i said. "but what if he wont talk?", kuriko asked. "we will take him and give him to the punks as a trade off for them to leave", kaoru said. "kidnapping?", kuriko asked. "whoa whoa whoa.. when did you three decide this?", butch asked. "three? no only them two.. i don't want a part in kidnapping!", miyako said. "i didn't know a puff could plan some thing so devious!", butch said as he smirked. "when we are trying to protect the ones we love.. then we become devious", i said. "well im in. i think its a good idea", butch said. "yeah me to", brick said. "me to..", boomer said shyly as he looked away from miyako. "boomer! i thought you of all people would be against this! i could see brick and butch being all for it but not you! your different!", miyako said. "hey how is brick any different!?", i asked. "yeah same with butch!?", kaoru asked. "boomer is kind and there not as sweet as boomer!", miyako said. "hey brick is sweet and kind!", i said now annoyed. "just because butch has a bad attitude and a tough exterior doesn't mean he is a jerk!", kaoru said. i could tell she was also annoyed. "look miyako... its just... i think this is best okay? if it means keeping you safe then i will do anything!", boomer said. "this isn't how the puffs are supposed to be!", miyako said. "this is the only way to keep us safe!", boomer said. "we're heroes!", miyako said angrily. "so what? we're not villains.. its only one guy and its not like were going to hurt him!", boomer said angrily. "oh shit...", i muttered. "i've never seen them fight before", brick whispered so only i could hear him. "look the only thing i want is for you to be safe! i want our future to be safe!", boomer said. "there is other ways to make our future safe!", miyako said. "how?", boomer challenged. miyako stayed quiet. "the only way to get rid of the punks is by killing them!", boomer said. miyako had a shocked look on her face. "now im not saying i want to kill them.. i'm just trying to get the point of the kidnapping into your head! kidnapping there creator is the non violent way around this situation", boomer said. "i just don't feel right about this", miyako said. "and you think the rest of us are okay with it? of course not!", boomer said. "yeah i feel bad about it to but if it will keep us safe then we must", butch said. "miyako if we don't take care of them now then what will happen... picture this.. it's our wedding day. we're saying our vows and the punks show up. then what? our day is ruined..", boomer said as he looked at miyako pleading for her to understand. "hey i got the book guys!", ken said as he walked back into the room. ken looked around at us and realized we were all kinda tense. "jeez what did i miss? you can cut the tension in this room with a knife", ken said jokingly as he walked over to the table. ken must of noticed no one thought it was funny so he looked away from us. the book was now in the middle of the table. every one pushed there cereal bowls aside and leand over the table so every one could see. i flipped open the book and flipped the pages until i found the picture. "there", i said as i pointed to the picture. "wow that does look like the punks", brick said. "so thats the man behind those evil girls", boomer said. "he doesn't look so tough.. we could take him", butch said. "you have no idea what he is like", professor said. "what do you mean?", i asked. "the man is an evil genius.. he was my rival in every thing we did. of course he always came in second place because i had always won", professor said. "what like sports competitions?", butch asked. every one looked at butch with a "what the hell?" glare. "science competitions butch!", brick said as he smirked at butch. "right... i knew that...", butch said as his face turned slightly pink with embarrassment. "why the hell yould the professor play sports? you know he couldn't!", kaoru said. "hey i was on my high school football team!", professor said. "really? what position did you play?", kaoru asked. "the water boy", professor said with pride. i bit my lip as i fought back a laugh. "that doesn't mean you were on the--", kaoru started to say. "i bet you were a great water boy professor", miyako said interrupting kaoru. "alright lets get back to the situation at hand.. you know the whole punk situation? we can bask in the glory days of highschool later", brick said. "yes.. brick is right", professor said after he cleared his throat. "so when we do go to talk to the punks creator.. are you going to go with us or do you think its best for you to stay here", brick asked the professor. "well im not sure exactly", professor said. "i don't think the plutonium guy should know about the professor", i said. "why?", ken asked. "because if they were rivals all there lives then plutonium is just going to root for his girls and want us to be defeated so professor can come in second place", i said. "she has a good point... if plutonium knows that i'v had any thing to do with you guys he could try to hurt you or help the punks try and hurt you", professor said. "what if he already knows? were on the news all the time.. were all over the internet so he could know", kaoru said. "kaoru is right.. he might know already", i said as i sighed and cupped my face in my hands. "i thought him was supposed to be the worst and hardest villain we were supposed to face", kaoru said. "i know you guys can take them... sure there tough but you guys are the heroes and the heroes always win", kuriko said. "heroes always wins in comic books and movies... this is real life", i said as i looked over to kuriko. "so... i have faith in you 6. i mean its 6 against 3.. in the past you guys have fought the punks and always won", kuriko said. "sure we won those battles but they keep coming back for more.. i don't think there every going to learn", i said. "lets just hope plutonium will convince them to stop", boomer said. "when should we talk to him?", kaoru asked. "tomorrow after school", i said. "shouldn't we just skip school and go talk to him?", kaoru asked. "no.. Unfortunately we can't.. we have missed way to much school. it could interfere with our graduation", i said. "momoko is right. we have missed allot of school this year.. they could hold us back for it", miyako said. "and we have already missed a few days this week since we were stuck in the simulation", brick said. "hey did any one bother to call my parents or miyako's grandma to let them know we are okay?", kaoru asked. "yes. we told them that you two was staying at momoko's apartment since you were putting in over time at 'work'", ken said as he made air quotes as he said work. "what time is it anyway?", butch asked. professor looked down at his watch and frowned. "its a little after midnight", professor said. "kuriko what are you doing here so late?", i asked. "i wanted to be here when you got back", kuriko said. "what did you tell mom? or have you told her anything?", i asked. "of course i gave her an excuse! i told her i was staying at your apartment with you since we never see each other.. i've been sleeping in you old room.. i hope you don't mind", kuriko said. "i dont care. you can have that room if you want.. i don't use it any more", i said as i smiled. "you guys should head to bed", professor said as he stood up. "going back to school tomorrow should be fun.. what kinda rumors do you thing has spread about us?", boomer joked. even though boomer was joking i knew he was right. there probably was going to be rumors about us since all six of us has missed school the past few days. well what ever the rumors are i don't care. "maybe there will be a rumor that we died", butch said as he shrugged his shoulders. "that would of pleased the punks", kaoru said. "i guess we will see tomorrow", brick said as he stood up and picked up his empty cereal bowl off the table. i stood up to and picked up my empty bowl. "ready for bed?", i asked as i looked at brick. "hell yeah.. it will be nice sleeping in an actual bed again", brick said. "yeah i hated sleeping in that stupid chair in mojo's basement", butch said. every one else stood up and grabbed there bowl. "night guys", professor said as he waved as he walked out of the room. "can i walk you to your room?", ken asked. "of course", kuriko said as she smiled and grabbed ken's hand. "night every one", kuriko and ken called as they walked hand in hand to the elevator. "night", the six of us called as we walked into the kitchen area. each of us set our bowls into the sink then walked back into the main area and to the elevator. once we was at the elevator kaoru pressed a button and the doors came open. we all walked in and butch pressed a button making the doors close. "so kaoru.. wanna bunk with me?", butch asked as he smirked. "i only let you sleep in the bed because it was cold!", kaoru said referring to back when we were in the simulation. butch rolled his eyes and smiled at kaoru. i looked over to miyako and boomer who were awkwardly standing near each other. miyako must still be upset with him. but boomer is in the right. he only wants to protect miyako. "can i walk you to your room?", boomer asked softly breaking there awkward tension. "yes", miyako said as she looked up at him. boomer softly smiled at her. i could tell she was fighting back a smile as she looked down at her feet. once the elevator stopped the doors came open. kaoru and butch walked out first. miyako and boomer walked out next. "think boomer is going to try and talk to her?", i whispered to brick. "maybe?", brick said as he pressed a button to take us up to our floor. the elevator doors closed and the elevator started to move. "i hope they work things out", i said. "me to", brick said as he grabbed my hand. "you know i really missed you while you were gone", i said. "i missed you to", brick said as he smiled own at me. the elevator doors opener so we walked out and down the hallway to our room. brick opened the door and we both walked in. "god it feels good to me home", brick said as he smiled. "yeah it does", i said as i smiled. brick let go of my hand as he leaned down and kissed me on the side of my head. brick and i both walked to our bed room. "i've missed this room", brick said as he smiled as we both walked in. "me to", i said as i laid down on the bed and pulled the bankets up over me. brick walked over to his side of the bed and took off his jacket. i reached over to set the alarm for 6 am. i want to get up a bit earlier so i can shower before school tomorrow. brick laid down next to me and pulled the blankets up over him. i quickly rolled over so i could face him. brick put his arms around me pulling me close to him. i smiled as i leaned my head up against him. " i was so afraid i was never going to be able to do this again", brick said softly. "i was afraid to.. im so glad every one made it out of the simulation alive", i said. "me to", brick said. we were both quiet for a few minutes until i spoke up. "you know.. this is the first night we have been alone in this apartment", i said. "you know... your right", brick said. "because the first night we let our friends sleep up here then the next day we were at mahito's place all night then we were in the simulation for days", i said. "im glad we are here now", brick said as he kissed my forehead. "night bricky", i said as i leaned up giving brick a quick kiss on the lips. "night momo", brick said softly. i smiled knowing that he was here. and that this was the real world and not the simulation.
