Chapter twenty-five, a big problem

~Momoko's P.O.V~

i slowly walked over to the group. my heart felt heavy and my eyes were wide with worry. my friends were laughing about something with the younger puffs. brick looked up and noticed i was walking back. his smile quickly disappeared. he must of known some thing was wrong by the look on my face. "momoko whats wrong?", brick asked seriously as i stopped and stood next to him. i could feel my eyes start to water. "momoko?", brick asked. "were....we..were stuck in here!", i choked out as i began to cry. "what?", brick asked. "the professor said he cant get us out and back into our real world!", i said. brick's mouth dropped. "what! were stuck here!?", kaoru asked. "yes and we can't get out!", i said. "what are we going to do?", miyako asked. "i don't know...", i said as i looked down at my feet. "but your the leader doesnt the leader always know what to do?", young me asked. "not always", i said as i looked up at her. "im calling the professor!", kaoru said. "it's no use. the connection is shitty and i tried calling him back after our call lost connection and it wont go through", i said. "so what the hell are we going to do?", butch asked. "i have an idea", young me said. "what?", i asked. "lets go see our professor maybe he can help", young me said. "i need to tell you guys some thing", i said as i wiped away the tears and stopped crying, "young puffs we havnt been honest with you." "what?", young me asked. "you see were not from the future.. we have received new powers and we were put into arena to be in a simulation to test our powers but some how we are stuck in here and we can't get out", i said. "a simulation?", young kaoru asked. "it's like a video game. you can see it and it looks real", young me said. "so were just a simulation?", young miyako asked. i nodded my head. "so were not real?", young me asked. "no..", i said. "i dont believe this!", young kaoru yelled. "kaoru", young me said quietly. "come on how do we know there not just bad guys or some thing trying to trick us? i mean seriously we would never date those idiots so there the fake ones", young kaoru said. "hey! there not idiots!", i yelled. "how do we know your not trying to trick us?", young kaoru asked. "you just have to believe me!!", i said. "i believe them", young me said. "you do?", young kaoru asked in shock. "yes and as leader i think we should give them a chance", young me said. young kaoru crossed her arms and looked away. "okay so if you guys are in a simulation room. can't you just fly to the edge and smash through it?", young me asked. "you know thats not a bad idea.. we were only supposed to be in a simulation of the city so we should fly to the edge of the city and see if we can find an invisible wall and try to break through it.", i said. "it's starting to get dark... maybe you guys should wait till tomorrow", young miyako said. "yeah your right. we will be well rested and have more energy tomorrow. i guess we can all go to brick and i's apartment to sleep...", i started to say but then trailed off remembering were in a past simulation so brick and i don't have an apartment yet. "this is the past... were not even together yet", brick said. "you guys have an apartment?", young me asked. "yeah.. you know the apartments on the top floor of the lab. we live in number 7", i said. "lets go to the lab maybe the professor can help", young me said. "i don't really know how a simulation guy can help but okay", i said. "so it's settled we will go to the professor for help", young me said. the nine of us quickly flew up into the air and started to fly in the direction of the lab. brick flew at by left and young me flew by my right. "so is it fun being an adult?", young me asked. "ehh kinda. there are alot of responsibilities", i said. "like what? bills? jobs? kids?", young me asked. my eyes went wide. i looked over at brick who's eyes were wide as well. "kids!?", i choked out. "well your an adult right?", young me asked. "well yeah but i'm only 18.. im not even out of high school yet. why would i have kids?", i asked. "well i don't know i guess i always wanted to have kids young like after high school. i just figured maybe you already graduated", young me said. "nope no kids not for awhile anyway", brick said. i thought back to when i was 13. i remember the thing i wanted the most was the love of my life. i had always planned out wedding scenarios and my future with my future husband and future kids but i totally forgot about the whole wanting kids at a young age thing. "well as you get older you kinda realize that you have to be able to control your own life and know whats going on before you can have kids you know?", i said. "yeah kids are way to hard to handle", brick said. "oh come on there not that bad", i said. "well not all of them", brick said. "whats that supposed to mean?", i asked. "i don't know? not all kids are good?", brick said. "so your afraid to have kids because you think they could be bad?", i asked. "what? no! of course i want kids im just saying that the whole concept of thinking about kids is kinda crazy you know?", brick said. "so you do want kids?", i asked. "as long as there with you then yes", brick said as he smiled at me. i could feel my face blush. young me's face blushed to. "oh man... i don't know how im going to be able to fight the ruffs if we ever have to fight again... you guys are making it hard for me to want to punch those guys", young me said. "you will learn to love them", i said as i smiled and softly elbowed brick in the arm. "yeah and they will learn how to put up with the puffs", brick said jokingly as he grabbed me and pulled me into a backwards hug and began spinning us as we flew. "let me go!", i said as i laughed. brick kissed the side of my head and let me go. i playfully pushed brick away as he let me go. young me giggled at us. "cut it out love birds were almost there. you two can make out after we talk to the professor", butch joked. "yeah guys not in front of the kids!", kaoru joked. i rolled my eyes at them. young kaoru laughed at her future self and butch. "hey were not kids! and i like seeing them happy because i know ill be happy one day. i like seeing you guys happy because then i know my friends will be happy as well", young me said. "see she understand us!", i said. "oh get real! she only understands you because she is you!", kaoru said. "true.. but i like it when people agree with me", i said as i chuckled. "look theres the lab!", miyako said as she pointed to the lab. we all quickly flew down and landed in front of the doors. we all quickly walked in. the young puffs led us into the main room where young 8 year old ken and the professor was. the professor looked young. he had nice hair and no wrinkles at all. in our time he had a few gray hairs coming in and a few wrinkles were on his face. its weird seeing what a five year difference does. "professor!", young me called. the professor turned and looked up at us. his eyes went wide as he gasped. young ken looked up at us and gasped as well. "they have a problem and they need your help", young me said. "who are you guys!?", professor asked ignoring young me. "look professor there in a simulation.. were not real.. they are and the real professor cant get them out of this simulation so they need your help", young me said. "a simulation?", professor asked. "were the real puffs and our professor gave us new powers and sent us into a simulation to test our powers but some how were stuck in this simulation and we can't get out. we need your help", i said. "peach smell then to see if there are any black z rays. i don't know if i trust them", young ken said. peach walked forward and smelled my leg. "hmmm strawberrys", peach said as he smiled. "i told you you smelled like strawberrys", brick said as he smirked. "peach..", young ken said. "oh uh she is clean. peach walked over to smell brick. "hey! your a rowdy ruff! you have a black oara all around you!", peach said angrily as he snarled at brick. "hey leave him alone!", young me and i said at the same time. "he is a ruff!", young ken said. "he is my boyfriend! he is a good guy now!", i said defending brick. "your what?!", young ken asked. "i know hard to believe the ruffs and puffs hook up right", young me said. peach smelled miyako then kaoru. "there clean", peach said. peach smelled butch and boomer then said,"they have dark oaras as well". "we're not bad guys. thats all in the past", brick said. "yeah there on our side now", i said. "they really need our help because there is no way out of here for them", young me said. "well if this is a simulation then there isnt much i can do.. if were not real i cant help get you out and back into the real world.. im sorry", professor said. "what?....", i asked as my heart sank. "i'm so sorry... there is nothing i can do", professor said. "but uh.. we have an idea.. can you at least tell us if you think it will work?", i asked. "well maybe", the professor said. "okay since this simulation is supposed to just be this city. our plan is to fly to the edge of town and see if there is an invisible wall and if there is were going to try and bust through it", i said. "well it could work but i'm not for sure", professor said. "we plan on trying this tomorrow", i said. "well until then i offer you my lab to stay in. there are plenty of rooms to choose from to sleep in.", professor said. "uh professor in our time. brick and i have an apartment on the top floor that you in the future are letting us use. i have my key on me. could we all just sleep in that room?", i asked. "sure", professor said as he smiled. "dad your just going to let them stay with us.. what if there evil?", young ken asked. "were not evil. even peach thinks were okay", i said as i bent down and scratched peach behind the ear. "ohh yeah she is good", peach said happily. "i cant believe how tiny you are!", i said. "huh?", peach asked. "well in the future your a bit bigger. you've some how grown threw out the years", i said. i stood back up and looked at young ken. "hey ken.. wanna know some thing?", i asked. "ha.. as if you could teach me some thing.. i already know every thing", young ken said snobbishly. "you don't know this one", i said. "okay what is it then?", young ken asked in a sarcastic tone. "in the future your 13 and you and my sister kuriko are dating!", i said as i smiled. "what!?", young ken asked in shock. "yepp", i said as i smiled. "no way even ken has a girlfriend!", young kaoru asked in shock. the professor smiled and walked away to go do some thing else. "can i ask you some thing?", young ken asked. "sure", i said as i smiled. "did... did my mom... ever come home?", young ken asks. my heart filled with sadness. "no i'm sorry.. she decided to extend her stay at the space station", i said sadly. "oh..", young ken said sadly. i slowly walked forward and kneeled down and pulled young ken into a hug. "i'm sorry little buddy", i said. surprisingly young ken hugged me back. "well i guess it's better than you guys trying to be my moms again", young ken said as i pulled away and stood up. i chuckled as i remembered the time us puffs tried to be ken's mothers. "Well uh you guys know where the rooms are then.. i'm gonna go help the professor with something", young ken said. young ken walked away and into the direction his dad went in. i transformed back into my normal self so i didn't look like a puff any more. my friends quickly did the same. even the young puffs transformed back into there normal selves. "wow...", young me said as she stared at me. "what?", i asked. "you really look alot like my mom", young me said. "really? i guess i never noticed", i said. we all started to walk to the elevator. young me pressed the button and the doors opened. we all walked in and pressed the button for the top floor. the elevator doors closed and the elevator started to go up. after a few seconds the elevator came to a stop and the doors opened. we all walked out and down the hall to the door with the number 7 on it. i used my key to unlock the door. i opened the door to see a normal all white room. the walls were painted white, the carpet was white.. you could tell brick and i havnt moved into it yet. "wow this place looks alot different than ours", brick said. "thats because momoko hasnt decorated it yet", miyako said. brick walked in and ran his fingers across the walls as he walked. "it's weird... there's no pictures of us hanging up", brick said. "it doesn't feel like home at all", i said sadly. "at least we have each other", brick said as he smiled softly at me. "i'm glad i have you", i said as i smiled back at him. "so let me guess there's no food in the fridge right?", butch asked. "uh no.. since no one lives up here", young miyako said. "please tell me the tv works!", kaoru said. "oh yeah it works", young kaoru said as she smiled. i smiled and rolled my eyes at the kaoru's. we all walked into the living room where an all white couch and love seat and a chair was. the three young puffs sat down on the love seat. butch sat down on the couch and kaoru sat next to him. butch quickly grabbed kaoru and pulled her closer to him and put his arm around her. "butch", kaoru said as she smiled but surprisingly she didn't push him away. boomer sat down on the other end of the couch and miyako sat close to him with her legs curled up on the couch. i smiled as i seen them holding each others hands. they really are cute together. brick sat down in the chair. i started to walk by him but he stopped me. "hey where you goin?", brick asked playfully as he grabbed my waist and pulled me onto his lap. "apparently no where", i said as i smiled and cuddle up close to brick so we was both sitting in a comfortable position. brick wrapped his arms around me and i laid my head on his shoulder. i smiled as he intertwind our fingers. i sighed softly and smiled again at brick. "so uh whats the sleeping arrangement?", boomer asked. "well uh there are three bedrooms. brick and i will take one and you guys can figure out the rest because i dont think kaoru wants to share a room with butch", i said. "damn right i don't", kaoru said as she smirked. "come on baby i know you would lovvvvvvvvvve sharing a bed with me", butch said playfully as he kissed kaoru on the chhek. kaoru blushed then rolled her eyes. "dream on fido", kaoru said. "it's gonna happen sooner or later", butch said as he smiled. "oh shut up butch!", kaoru said as she blushed again and looked down at her feet. "okay but seriously it's not like we havn't slept together before. remember waking up in brick's bathtub?", butch asked. "yes i remember... i also remember you trying to stare at momoko who was half naked!", kaoru said as she crossed her arms. "i was in shock! i woke up sore and cramped into a bathtub with my girlfriend. i was shoked that you was there! and of course i was surprised that momoko was half naked in the room with brick! that shocked me as well! so us sharing a bed wouldn't be any different from the bathtub.. i mean we would have more room in the bed so we wouldn't even have to cuddle.. i mean like if you wanted to i'd be perfectly fine with that but if not thats okay", butch said. "oh shit your being serious arn't you?", kaoru asked. "yes! if you want a whole half of the bed to yourself you can have it i wont even touch you", butch said. kaoru stared at him for a minute as if she was thinking. "okay we can share a room but your sleeping on the floor", kaoru said. "sounds good to me", butch said as he smiled. "what about you guys? you gonna share a room to?", i asked miyako and boomer. boomer looked at miyako. "well i don't see the harm in it", miyako said as she smiled. "are you sure? because i can sleep on the couch if you would feel more comfortable", boomer said. "no it's okay boomie", miyako said as she smiled then gave boomer a kiss on the cheek. boomer smiled and blushed. "so uh lets back track a little bit. so whats this about the naked thing?", young kaoru asked as she looked at me as if she were teasing me. "oh jeez come on guys it was embarrassing let's not talk about it!", i said. "come on it's funny!", kaoru said. "yeah to you! you wasnt the one standing half naked in front of two guys and your bestfriend! well i didn't care that brick seen but i did that you and butch seen! it was embarrassing!", i said. "what? are you embarrassed that i seen your underwear? it wasn't the first time?", butch said as he laughed. "hey! when did you see those!?", brick asked angrily. "the time she was making pancakes in her robe and reached for some thing in the cupboard remember?", butch said. "haha oh yeah", brick said as he laughed. i could feel my face go red as i remembered. "alright assholes you wanna talk about my embarrassing storys lets talk about yours! what about the time on the beach when we seen you two making out hard under the tree in the shade?", i said. kaoru's face turned red with embarrassment. "okay what about the time i scared the fuck out of you and brick while you two was making out in the tent?", butch said. "what about the time we beat you at beer pong? the time you burned my toaster waffles? the time.. the time..... damn it i cant think of any more!", i said. "the time you and brick fell out of the closet.. the time the condoms fell out of the box.. the time every one seen you two making out in the car at school.. i can keep going", butch said as he smirked. "why does every thing embarrassing happen to us?", i asked as i looked at brick. "because kaoru and i are smarter and know how to stay away from embarrassing situations", butch said as he chuckled. i smiled and rolled my eyes. "i love teasing her.. she gets so feisty", butch said as he laughed. "i know.. it's funny", kaoru said as she laughed to. "sounds like you guys have a lot of good times", young kaoru said. i noticed young miyako's eyes were wide with shock. "huh you okay?", i asked as i looked at her. "i-- i--i know your 18 and your an adult but... condoms?", young miyako asked. "oh noo noo no no no no we don't do any thing like that yet.. mojo got them for brick and when we were moving the ruffs out of mojo's house and into the lab they was in a box boomer was caring and he fell and the things in the box spilled out. so it's not what you think", i said as i smiled. Young me chuckled. "so uh you guys sleeping here or are you gonna head home?", i asked the young puffs. "i'd rather hang out here with you guys", young me said. "yeah same here. it's better than going home and getting ambushed by stupid dai", young kaoru said. "hey you will miss him when he goes off to college", kaoru said. "dai goes to college!? he is smart enough for that!?", young kaoru asked in shock. kaoru chuckled and nodded her head yes. "i think i'll stay over to", young miyako said. "hey don't forget to call mom", i said to young me. "i know", young me said. "you know how she worries..", i said. "you and mom must be pretty close in the future huh?", young me asked. i sighed and looked down at my feet. "uh well... not so much.. we sort of had a huge fight and i really hurt her feelings when i told her i was moving out.. we've talked since then and i told her i was sorry but i just feel like our relationship isn't the same any more", i said quietly. "so were gonna have a falling out?", young me asked. "unfortionataly yes", i said. "so lets get our stories straight. im staying the night at momoko's house?", young kaoru said. "and i'm staying the night at momoko's house", young miyako said. "yepp and i'm staying the night at miyako's house", young me said. "sounds good. let's call the rents", young kaoru said. i smiled as i remembered back to the time when it was cool to call your parents the rents. i'm not sure why it was cool but it was some thing we did. the young puffs all got up and walked into the kitchen so they could all call there parents."well we have a big day ahead of us tomorrow", brick said. "yeah a big day of trying to smash through an invisable wall", i said as i smiled. "well at least we have a plan", kaoru said. "even if it's a dumb plan... it's still a plan", butch said. "let's just hope it works", boomer said. "what if it doesn't?", miyako asked as she looked at me. "yeah what will we do then?", kaoru asked as she looked at me. being the leader is fun and all but in this situation i don't know what to do. or what will happen to us. it's my job to protect my friends... but i just don't know how to get us out of here. "well if it doesn't work then we will just have to find another way", i said. "like?", kaoru asked. "uhh well i'm not sure. if worst comes to worst i'm sure the simulation will eventually stop right? or the professor will help us out of here", i said. "good plan", kaoru said sarcastically. "i know i know.. just give me the night to think about it okay?", i said. "alright", kaoru said as she put her hands up. young me walked back into the room and sat down on the love seat. "mom buy it?", i asked. "yepp", young me said as she smiled. young miyako walked into the room and sat down on the love seat next to young me. young miyako seemed sad. "heyyya whats wrong?", boomer asked. "i don't know i guess i just feel bad for lying to my grandma", young miyako said. "that feeling never goes away... even though i'm 18 i still call my grandma and tell her in staying with one of the girls' even though i'm at the lab. but i still feel bad", miyako said. young kaoru walked into the room and sat down on the love seat. "so tell me.. in this future of yours. what college does dai go to... did he move away?", young kaoru asked. "no he didnt go far. he goes to new townsville university", kaoru said. "ohh i heard there campus is beautiful", young miyako said. "i heard theres alot of cute guys that go there", young me said. "well i heard they have some wild parties there.. that must be why dai went", young kaoru said. "yeah there parties are definitely crazy", i said. "you can say that again", kaoru said. "i've got a permanent mark to prove it", brick said as he chuckled. "oh yeah that's right you do!", butch said as he laughed. "i take it you guys have been to one of the college parties?", young kaoru asked. "yeah we went to an amusement park and ran into dai. his friend invited us to a party and well things got uhh well hazy i guess you could say", i said. "pfft. it got more than hazy! we were all to drunk to fucking realize i was getting a tattoo!", brick said. "that was a good night", butch said as he laughed. "come on the tattoo is cool. at least you didn't do some thing dumb like get butch's face tattooed on you", i said as i laughed. "so the future puffs have a dark side?", young kaoru asked. "huh?", i asked. "you guys drink?", young kaoru said. "oh no. not all the time just every now and then. but it's never while were puffs. it's only when were normal people", kaoru said. "yeah we would never do that as puffs", miyako said. "i'd never allow that. when were puffs our city needs us---....", i said but then trailed off as i realized some thing. "what?", brick asked. "i just thought of some thing", i said. "what?", butch asked. "we're all stuck in this simulation... theres no one to protect the city!", i said. "hey your right!", boomer said. "what if the punks or the tuffs is taking advantage of us not being around?", i asked. "well i guess we wont know till we get back", kaoru said. "this is so stressful not knowing whats going on at home", i said as i rubbed my temples. "don't worry baby we can kick some ass when we get back if we have to", brick said as he hugged me closer to him. "i know but what if we go back and the whole city is destroyed?", i asked. "you worry to much momo. it will be fine", brick said as he smiled at me reassuringly. "i don't know bricky.. it's just kinda scary to think about", i said. "i know but the more you worry about it the more upset you will get... and it kills me seeing you upset", brick said. "even if some thing did happen in the city the professor and ken could do some thing about it. remember that time they were heros for what like a day?", miyako said. "yeah i guess your right", i said. miyako yawned and layed her head down on boomer's shoulder. "tired?", boomer asked. "yeah", miyako mumbled. "maybe we should all get some sleep. it is starting to get late and were gonna need alot of energy to bust through that wall tomorrow", i said. miyako slowly stood up and boomer stood up as well. "good night guys", miyako said as she smiled. "night guys", boomer said. boomer and miyako walked hand in hand out of the room and into the hallway to the bedroom. "so uh where are you guys sleeping?", i asked the young puffs. "well one of us can sleep on the love seat and one could sleep on the couch and the other could sleep in the chair", young me said. "ooohhh ooohh oooohhh i call the chair! it's a recliner.. those are super comfortable!", young kaoru said as she smiled. kaoru and butch stood up. "night guys", they both said as they walked out of the room. i slowly slid off brick's lap. brick stood up to. young me quickly stood up and walked over to a closet and pulled out a few blankets then walked back over to the young puffs and gave each of them a blanket. "night guys", i said as i smiled. "yeah good night", brick said as he smiled. "night guys", the three young puffs said as brick and i walked out of the room. we walked down the hall and into our room. the room we used in our real time. we both walked in and i closed the door. brick was already crawling into bed. i slowly walked over and sat down on the edge of the bed. i laid down next to brick and pulled the covers up over me. brick wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer to him. i smiled as i snuggled up closer to him. "i love you brick", i said softly. "i love you to momo", brick said softly.

~Kaoru's P.O.V~

butch and i walked into the room where we were going to be sleeping. i closed the door behind us. butch walked over and pulled the extra blanket off from the bottom of the bed then grabbed one of the pillows. butch set the pillow down on the floor then laid down and covered himself up. i quickly walked over and laid in the bed and pulled the blanket up over me. i could feel a cold chill run down my spine making me shiver. damn is it cold in here? i pulled the blanket up over my shoulders in an attempt to stay warm. "night kaoru", butch said. "night butch", i said quietly. i rolled over and faced the wall trying to get comfortable. some thing just doesnt feel right. "brrr...", butch mumbled. i rolled back over and faced the other way. I kinda felt bad for making butch sleep on the floor since it was cold. "butch....?", i asked. "yeah?", butch asked. "come lay up here...", i said. "are you sure?", butch asked. "yeah it's to cold to sleep on the floor", i said. "are you really sure?", butch asked. "damn it butch just get up here before i change my mind!", i said as i laughed. butch laughed as he stood up and walked over to the bed. he set his pillow next to mine then used the extra blanket to cover me up. butch laid down in the bed and pulled the blankets up over him as well. "thanks", butch said. "no problem", i said as i smiled. butch and i laid still for a few minutes. neither of us talked. he must be asleep? how long have we been laying here? i bit my bottom lip as i realized i really wanted to scoot closer to butch. i wanted to sleep close to him... i took a deep breath and slowly scooted closer to him trying not to wake him up. "so you wanna cuddle huh?", butch asked. "oh my god! i thought you was asleep!", i said in shock. i could feel my face blush as i was embarrassed. butch quickly rolled over so he was facing me and pulled me closer to him as he wrapped his strong, protective arms around me. my hands were pinned up against his chest. i could feel his strong, hard chest. our faces were only a few inches apart. i could feel my heart beating faster. out of impulse i quickly leaned up pressing my lips against butch's softly kissing him. i could tell this took butch by surprise. butch quickly kissed me back and held me tighter. our kiss was sweet. then it started to heat up a little and our kiss became so passionate. butch slowly rolled us both over and laid on top of me kissing me. i could feel my heart beating faster. i didnt want this moment to ever end. it was like the two of us was in our own world. like nothing else mattered. it was only the two of us with out a care in the world. i ran my fingers through butch's soft hair as we kissed. butch pulled away so we both could catch our breath. "i love you kaoru", butch said. "i love you to butch", i said as i smiled and pushed buct off me. butch smiled as he laid down on his back next to me. i quickly crawled on top of him so he was between my legs. "what are you do--", butch started to say but i cut him off by kissing him again. butch kissed me again to. i placed both my hands on the side of his face. butch slowly moved his hands to my waist and held me by my waist. i stopped kissing his lips and slowly left a trail of kisses down to his neck. "oh jeez kaoru", butch moaned. i chuckled as i kept kissing him. i slowly moved my face back to butch's and kissed his lips again.
