Chapter Thirty-Eight, Smile

~Momoko's P.O.V~

"Kaoru come on! You have to come out of there some time!", I said as I knocked on the bathroom door. "Yeah kaoru hurry up the guys will be here any minute now", miyako said. "I don't want to... I look stupid!", kaoru said from the other side of the door. "No you don't! The dress looked beautiful on you!", I said. "I look like a girly girl!", kaoru said. "So what? It's okay to be girly some times!", miyako said. "Kaoru you wear a skirt when your a power puff so why is a dress any different?", I asked. "I don't know!", kaoru said. "You can't stay in there!", miyako said. "Yea butch is going to be here any minute!", I said. "So?", kaoru said. "He will break this door down if I don't do it first!", I said. "You can't break this door", kaoru said. "You wanna bet?", I asked. "No... Don't kick the door!", miyako said as she put her hand on my arm. "Alright I won't break the door but hear me out... Kaoru this is going to be a magical night for you and butch. Butch WANTS to go to prom with YOU. Butch LOVES YOU! So If you don't come out its gonna break his poor heart!", I said. "Are you trying to make me feel guilty?", kaoru asked. "Is it working?", I asked. "Yes...", kaoru said. We waited a few seconds for kaoru to open the door but she didn't. "Kaoru?", miyako asked but kaoru didn't answer. "Do you have a bobby pin?", I asked miyako. "Momoko your hair looks fine why do you need one?", miyako asked. "You will see", I said. "Yea I have some", miyako said as she opened her light blue clutch. She fished around for a few seconds then pulled out a bobby pin and handed it to me. I kneeled down so I was eye level with the door knob. I quickly stuck the bobby pin inside the little hole on the door knob and began twisting it and moving it around. I don't know why they make door knobs like this when they have any keys but Im glad they do. I heard a "click" noise so I smiled in delight. I quickly stood up and pulled the bobby pin out of the door knob. "You unlocked it? Where did you learn that?!", miyako asked as she smiled. "When you have a little sister who likes to steal the bathroom in the mornings you learn pretty quick", I said as I smiled. I quickly grabbed the door knob and twisted it pushing the door open to see kaoru looking at me in shock. "Seriously? Are you a freaking lock smith?", kaoru asked. I myself was in shock at kaoru. She looked absolutely beautiful in her dress and with her make up on. I'm not saying I'm in shock that kaoru is pretty because kaoru has always been a pretty girl even dressed as a tomboy but I'm in shock at how well she did her make up! Miyako offered to do kaoru's make up for her but she refused and said she would do it herself.. That's why she was in the bathroom but then decided she didn't want to come out. I can't believe she did her make up so well. I think this is the first time I've ever seen kaoru with make up on. "Why are you two staring at me like that?!", kaoru asked. "Your make up its so--", I started to say. "It looks dumb... I'm just going to take it off!", kaoru said as she reached for the package of make up wipes. "No!", miyako yelled making kaoru jump. "Kaoru I was going to say your make up was pretty!", I said. "Yeah kaoru good job!", miyako said. "You really think so?", kaoru asked. "Yes! Kaoru I don't know why you think you look dumb. I know you hate compliments but you look beautiful!", I said. "Yeah momoko is right kaoru", miyako said. "Thanks guys", kaoru said as she smiled lightly at us. Before any of us could say any thing else there was a knock at the front door that made us all jump. "It's the guys", miyako said. Suddenly I felt nervous. I don't know why though? This is just like a date and I've been on plenty of dates with brick and I've never been nervous so why am I so damn nervous now? Maybe it's because brick looks super cute when he is dressed up? Well I think brick always looks cute whether he is dressed up or not. "Did any one else just get hella nervous or is it just me?", I asked. "Nope it's not just you", kaoru said as we all walked down the hallway and back to the living room. "I'll get the door", miyako said as she walked over to the door. Miyako pulled open the door to see boomer standing on the other side. "Hello sweetheart", boomer said as he smiled at miyako. "Hi boomie", miyako said as she smiled to. Boomer leaned forward and gave miyako a kiss on the lips. When he pulled away they both smiled at each other again. "You look very beautiful Miya", boomer said. "Thank you", miyako said as she blushed,"you look very handsome". "Thank you", boomer said as he walked in and closed the door behind him. "So you came up here alone?", miyako asked. "Yeah brick and butch are still down stairs in butch's room. They should be here shortly though", boomer said. "They better hurry we need to leave soon", miyako said. "Well butch couldn't find one of his shoes so brick offered to help him so hopefully It won't take to long", boomer said. "Leave it to butch to lose his shoes on an important day", I said as I smiled and rolled my eyes. "I wonder what he will lose on graduation day?", kaoru joked. "Most likely his cap and gown", boomer said. "Speaking of caps and gowns. Has your guys' cap and gown came in the mail yet?", kaoru asked. "Nope not yet", I said. "I haven't gotten mine either. They should be here soon though. Next week is our last week of school", miyako said. "Oh no...", I muttered. "Your not excited?", miyako asked. "No I am excited its just next week is our exams. I don't think I'm ready", I said. "Well then.. Instead of going to prom lets just stay home and study!", kaoru said as she smirked. "No way!", miyako and I said at the same time. "You guys are not going to let me out if this huh?", kaoru said as she crossed her arms. "Nope", miyako said as she smiled. Suddenly there was another knock at the door. "Who do you think it is? Brick or butch?", I asked. "It's brick", kaoru said. "How are you so sure?", I asked. "Because butch is rude and never knocks", kaoru said. "I guess your right", I said as I quickly walked over to the front door. I stood on my tippy toes and looked into the peephole of the door just to make sure it was brick. Because if it was butch I'd let kaoru answer the door so butch could see her first. I could see brick through the peephole holding some thing in his hands. "It's brick", I said as I dropped back down onto my feet. I opened the door and smiled at brick. "Whoa...", brick murmured as he seen me. Brick just stood there smiling at me for a few seconds. Brick started to say some thing but stopped. "Uh.. You look very handsome", I said breaking the silents. "Uh I'm sorry.. I think I forgot how to talk there for a second", brick said nervously. I could tell brick was nervous. Hell even I was nervous. "You look very beautiful", brick said as he leaned in giving me a quick kiss on the lips. "Thank you", I said as I smiled. I stepped aside so brick could come in. Brick walked in and over to our friends. I closed the door and followed brick to our friends. "Boomer you forgot some thing", brick said as he handed boomer a plastic container. "Oh my god how did I forget this!?", boomer said in disbelief at him self. "Here I got this for you", brick said as he held up a plastic container. Brick quickly opened It and pulled out a pink flower Corsage. Brick set the container on the stand then grabbed my hand. Brick lifted up my hand and smiled at me as he slipped the corsage onto my wrist. "Oh brick it's beautiful", I said as I smiled. "Not as beautiful as you!", brick said. "Aw", I said as I could feel my face heat up as I blushed. I heard miyako giggle so I looked over to see what she was laughing at. She was giggling at boomer. Boomer looked so frustrated as he tried to open miyako corsage container. "Do you need help?", kaoru asked. "No no! I got this", boomer said. We all stood there watching as boomer fought with the container. Brick leaned down and whispered in my ear,"I bet you five bucks ill have to open it for him". "Your on!", I whispered as I shook bricks hand. After a few more seconds kaoru asked," are you sure you got it?". "Yes..", boomer said. "Maybe you should let brick open it?", miyako said. "Got it!", boomer said excitedly as he pulled the container open. "Shit", brick muttered. "Ha! You owe me five bucks", I said as I lightly elbowed bricks arm. Every one looked over at brick and I. "What?", brick asked. Boomer shook his head as he smiled and looked at miyako. Boomer took the light blue flower corsage out of the container and quickly set the container on the stand next to the one brick set down. "Miya may I have your hand?", boomer asked. "Of course", miyako said as she smiled and held her hand out to boomer. Boomer slipped the corsage onto miyako's wrist just as we heard some one come in. "Sorry guys I had a hard time finding one of my shoes", butch said as he walked in. "Do you ever knock?", kaoru asked. "Uh no", butch said. "What if one of us girls wasn't dressed yet? Or what if one of us was changing in this room?", kaoru asked. "You say it as if its a bad thing to walk in on pretty girls changing there clothes", butch said as he smirked. "Perv", kaoru said as she rolled her eyes. "Maybe but I'm your perv", butch said. "Uh..", kaoru said. "Uh wait... No.. Forget I said that.. It sounded way more romantic in my head", butch said. "It sounded more creepy than any thing", kaoru said. "Uh well any way I got this thing for you. Brick said I needed to give it to you", butch said as he opened a plastic container and pulled out a light green corsage. Butch took kaoru's hand and slipped the corsage onto her wrist. "You look very beautiful by the way", butch said as quickly kissed kaoru on the lips and smiled as he pulled away. "Shut up", kaoru muttered as she blushed and looked away. "Oh thank god you have not left yet. Mom would of killed me", kuriko said as she and ken burst threw the front door scaring us all. "Shit kuriko you scared me!", I said. "Haha sorry", kuriko huffed. "Uh what are you doing here?", I asked. "Mom wanted me to take pictures of you guys. She said I was going to be grounded if I didn't get any pictures so all of you better cooperate! ", kuriko said. "We will", I said as I smiled. "So why are you so out of breath did you run all the way here?", kaoru asked. "Pretty much", kuriko said as she smiled. "Well you caught us just in time. We were about to leave soon", I said. "Well then we better make this quick. Mom wants pictures of every one. She want to have a bunch printed off to give some to miyako, her grandmother, boomer,kaoru, her parents, butch, you and brick", kuriko said. "Aw that's sweet", miyako said as she smiled. "I can't believe mom trusts you to take good pictures of every one", I said. "Momoko this isn't like our family trip to Tokyo. I was young and dumb and filled up the memory card with pictures of the side walk and the sky. I shouldn't of been trusted with the camera back then but I am old enough now to take good pictures and not be dumb about it", kuriko said. "Nice speech", I joked. "Thanks I had notecards all prepared and every thing", kuriko joked. "Alright how do you want us?", I asked. "Let's get all six of you in a picture together. Guys in the back. Girls in the front while the guys hug you from behind", kuriko said. "No fighting pictures kaoru!", butch said as he looked at kaoru. "I won't... I know my mom will really like these", kaoru said. Every one got in close together. Brick hugged me from behind pulling me close to him. On my left Butch hugged kaoru from behind and on my right boomer hugged miyako from behind. "Smile", kuriko said as she held up the camera. We all smiled just before the camera flashed. "Perfect now we need one of each couple", kuriko said. "So brick you need to put your arm around Momoko's waist", ken said. "No problem", brick said as he smiled and put his arm around my waist pulling me closer to him. "Now smile", kuriko said. We both smiled just before the camera flashed. "Great now turn and hug each other", kuriko said. I turned and wrapped my arms around brick and he wrapped his arms around me holding me close. I leaned my head on bricks chest and smiled for the camera. "Good", kuriko said as the camera flashed. "Done?", I asked. "nope two more", kuriko said. "Alright how should we pose?", I asked. "Brick stay how you are. Momoko put your hands on his chest", kuriko said. "Like this?", I asked as I let go of brick then placed my hands on his chest. "Yep. now look deep into each others eyes", kuriko said. I looked up into bricks crimson red eyes. He is so handsome. I smiled up at him and he smiled down at me. Suddenly there was a flash. Kuriko must of taken our picture. "Nice. That looked so natural. Like you guys wasn't even posing", ken said. "Good job guys one more", kuriko said. "Alright now what?", I asked as I looked at kuriko. "Now you to need to kiss", kuriko said. "What are you kidding?! Dad wouldn't want a picture of that! He would hate brick!", I said. "Are you kidding? He calls brick his son in law to be so I don't think he is going to hate it. Besides it was an order from mom to take these", kuriko said. "Alright fine", I said. "Okay now kiss like you would when your alone", kuriko said. "Uh our kissing is pretty intense when were alone", I said. "Okay fine kiss like you would when your in public", kuriko said. I looked up into bricks eyes. Brick placed his hands on my waist. I left both my hands on bricks chest as I stood on my tippy toes and closed my eyes just before I pressed my lips to his kissing him. Brick kissed me back. Even though I know it was hard for both of us we managed to kiss with out the kiss heating up into a full blown make out session like it usually turns into. "Okay", kuriko said. I slowly pulled away from brick and smiled at him. Brick smiled at me as he let me go. "So no more pictures of us right?", brick asked. "For now. Alright miyako boomer you two ready?", kuriko asked. "Yes", miyako said as she smiled. "Okay same poses", kuriko said as she raised the camera ready to take there picture. Boomer put his arm sound miyako's waist and pulled her close. They both smiled as kuriko took there picture. "Good now you two need to hug then after that picture I need one of you two looking into each others eyes", kuriko said. Boomer pulled miyako into a hug and smiled as miyako wrapped her arms around him to. They both smiled and looked at the camera. "Nice", kuriko said after she took there picture. "Now we look into each others eyes right?", miyako asked. "Yep", ken said. Boomer looked down at miyako and miyako looked up at boomer. They both smiled at each other right before kuriko took there picture. "Beautiful! Now can you two kiss for the camera?", kuriko asked. "We can do that. Right?", boomer said as he looked at miyako. "Yeah", miyako said as he nodded her head. Boomer smiled as he leaned down and kissed miyako on the lips. I smiled at miyako and boomer. They are so cute together. The camera flashed then kuriko said, "Perfect you two". Boomer and miyako both blushed as they parted from each other. "You two are so cute", kuriko said as she smiled. "Thanks", boomer said. "Alright kaoru are you ready?", kuriko asked. "Yea", kaoru said. "Alright same poses", kuriko said. Butch put his arm around kaoru's waist and pulled her close to him. "Smile", kuriko said as she held up the camera. They both smiled right before the camera flashed. "Perfect. Now you have to hug then look into each others eyes", kuriko said. Butch pulled kaoru into a hug and smiled for the camera. Kaoru hugged butch to and smiled for the camera but we all couldn't tell she wasn't very happy about showing this kind of affection for pictures. The way kaoru shows affection is by teasing butch not by hugging and kissing him unless there alone. "Perfect", kuriko said after she took the picture. Kaoru looked up into butch's eyes and butch looked down at kaoru. They both smiled at each other. They are also such a cute couple. You can tell that they really care about each other even though they tease each other all the time. "Great. You two ready to kiss?", kuriko asked after she took there picture. "Of course!", butch said as he smirked. "Keep it PG butch my parents are probably going to see this", kaoru said. "Can do", butch said then leaned down and pressed his lips to kaoru's kissing her. "Beautiful", kuriko said after she took the picture. "Done?", kaoru asked. "Nope now I need to take a picture of all the girls together then one of all the guys together then one of each and then we will be done. I promise", kuriko said. "Alright what do we do?", I asked. "Let's get all the girls together first", kuriko said. All three of the guys stepped away from us and us girls got closer together. Kaoru stood on my right and miyako was on my left. "Can you put your arms around each other to show some friendship?", kuriko asked. We all nodded our heads. I put one of my arms around miyako and the other around kaoru. Miyako put her arm around me and kaoru also put her arm around me. "Smile", kuriko said as she held up the camera. The three of us smiled just before the camera flashed. "Perfect. Now we need one with the guys", kuriko said. Us girls moved out of the way and let the guys go stand where we had been. Brick stood in the middle with butch on his right and boomer on his left. Brick put one arm around boomer's shoulders and the other one around butch's shoulders. Butch and boomer also put there arms around brick's shoulders. "Perfect you guys now you just have to smile", kuriko said. All three of the guys smiled for the camera. "Perfect guys", kuriko said after she took the picture. "Now we just have to get a picture of each of you", ken said. "Good because if we don't leave soon were gonna be late", butch said as the guys let go of each other. "Alright every one spread apart and smile were gonna do this fast", kuriko said. Kuriko turned to butch and quickly took his picture. Kuriko quickly went down the line and look every ones picture. "Alright your all done guys", kuriko said. "Sweet", butch said as he smiled. "You all look amazing. I just know mom is going to love these pictures", Kuriko said as she smiled. "She better like them. You did a lot better job than the Tokyo pictures you took", I said. "I really do like taking pictures. But normally I don't have any thing worth taking pictures of", kuriko said. "Well next time any of us need pictures taken you will be the first one we call", brick said as he smiled. "Really?", kuriko asked as she smiled. "Yes", brick said as he smiled. "So uh we should probably get going. You know so were not late", butch said. "Butch is right the prom starts soon", miyako said. "We have a surprise for you girls downstairs", boomer said. "We'll then let's go see what it is", kaoru said as she smiled.

~hey guys I'm so sorry this update took so long to post. I've been away from home allot and have not been able to write. A family member found out she has cancer so I've been staying with her allot to help her take care of her children and help out around the house. So I have not had much time to write so please bare with me here. I'm trying to update and write as much as I can. I hope you have liked this story. The end will be coming soon.
