A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER KATHERINE RETURNED, the high school was hosting it's annual carnival, and Harper had signed up to help set-up with Bonnie and Elena.

Harper hadn't seen much of Damon since the night he had stayed with her, and as much as she hated to admit it, she actually missed his company. But, she knew there were other things she had to focus on, one of them being the carnival she had nearly forgotten about.

"I mean, Katherine looked just like you. It was freakish." Bonnie commented as Elena scribbled a note on her clipboard. Bonnie was referring to when she had run into Katherine at the mayor's funeral, which led to her finding out she had returned.

"She's right. Other than the fact that she curls her hair, you two are basically twins." Harper agreed, nodding slightly as she glanced at Bonnie.

"Well, she is my ancestor." Elena replied sarcastically as she let out a sigh. "Also, I moved the student booth into the cafeteria." She added, causing both Bonnie and Harper to roll their eyes, knowing she was trying to change the subject.

"Your vampire ancestor. And she didn't just resemble you like a family member would. She was you." Bonnie explained, watching as Elena moved some of the bags filled with prizes over to the booth.

"I don't know, I can't explain it, guys. It's creepy, that's all I got." Elena replied, clearly a bit fed up with the return of her doppelgänger.

"She's creepy. And kind of a bitch." Harper commented, crossing her arms as she thought of her short interaction with Katherine.

"Harper's right. How do you know she's not still out there pretending to be you?" Bonnie asked, raising an eyebrow at Elena.

"I don't. But, I could sit here and be tortured by the not knowing, or, I could get these prizes to the ringtoss." Elena explained, grabbing all of the prizes she had to move. "I'm human, and I have to do human stuff. Otherwise, I'm going to go crazy." She added, causing Harper to laugh quietly.

"I wish I could say the same. But, yes, let's focus. Caroline will kill us if we don't pull this carnival off, anyways." Harper stated, causing both Bonnie and Elena to laugh, knowing she was right.

"Yeah, I don't know how she does this all of the time." Bonnie admitted, grabbing a load of stuffed animals in her arms.

"Well, because she's not human, obviously." Elena replied jokingly, earning laughs from both of her friends.

The girls spent the rest of the day preparing for the carnival, setting up booths and prizes so the night would go smoothly.
