chapter fourteen.。☆✼★━━━━━━━━━━━━★✼☆。
A FEW DAYS AFTER THE FOUNDER'S PARTY, Bonnie had returned home, showing up at school unannounced. Harper thought she looked a lot better than before; a lot happier. She had cut her hair and now sported bangs, which suited her incredibly well.
"Bonnie!" Elena called out, jogging slightly beside Harper to catch up with Bonnie, who seemed to be almost in a rush to get away from them.
"Hey, we tried to talk to you after class, but, you walked out kind of quickly." Harper greeted, a smile on her face as Bonnie turned around, sending them a slight smile.
"How are you? How's your family?" Elena asked, stopping beside Harper so she was facing Bonnie, too.
"We're dealing, it's been hard." Bonnie replied truthfully, clutching her books against her chest as she spoke.
"Well, we missed you loads." Harper spoke up, genuinely glad to have her best friend back in town.
"Yeah, I just had so much to deal with after Grams' funeral, and honestly after you told me that the tomb's spell failed, I just didn't really want to come back." Bonnie explained, causing Elena to nod slightly.
"I hope you understand why I called. I wanted you to know before you came home." Elena stated warily, wondering if Bonnie was upset with her.
"I understand why, I just wish I didn't know." Bonnie replied almost immediately, right before they were cut off by Caroline.
"Bonnie!" Caroline exclaimed, running up and pulling Bonnie into a tight hug. "Thank God you're home! I know we talked every day, but I missed you! How are you doing?" She nearly bombarded Bonnie, pulling away to smile down at her.
"Better. Just glad to be back. I want to try to keep myself busy." Bonnie replied, returning Caroline's smile.
"Well, I can help with that. Major wardrobe confab needed ASAP. You need to help me pick the perfect dress for the Founder's Court." Caroline explained, a wide smile on her face as she spoke.
"The Founder's Court? Did I miss something?" Elena piped up, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
"The Founder's Court. You know, Miss Mystic Falls? They announced it today, and you and I are both on it." Caroline replied eagerly, causing Harper to glance at Elena.
"Wow, I totally forgot that you guys signed up for that." Harper admitted, causing Elena to nod slightly.
"Me too, honestly." Elena replied, looking back at Caroline, who still looked excited.
"So, are you dropping out, then?" Caroline asked, almost a little too eagerly.
"I can't." Elena replied, shaking her head slightly as she looked down.
