"A DINNER PARTY? ARE YOU SERIOUS, DAMON?" Harper asked as she followed Damon into his living room, noticing that Alaric was in there already, waiting for them.

"Listen, it's the only way I could think of to lure Elijah in here for long enough to get him comfortable before I-" Damon began to explain, heading over to the caddy to pour himself a drink.

"Kill him?" Harper asked, crossing her arms as she stood beside Alaric, watching as Damon opened the bottle of alcohol.

"No, no, nothing like that." Damon lied, pouring the liquid into a glass over ice.

"Harper's right, I think this is a bad idea." Alaric cut in, glancing at Harper, who nodded slightly.

"There's no such thing as a bad idea. Just poorly executed awesome ones." Damon replied, turning to face them as he took a sip of his drink.

"And what if he takes this as an opportunity to kill you?" Harper asked, raising an eyebrow at Damon.

"I've died before, it's not too bad." Damon retorted, a small smirk on his face as he spoke.

"Not funny." Harper stated, sending a look his way.

"Yeah, plus, I don't like the idea of Elijah being in the same house as Jenna." Alaric admitted, causing Damon to roll his eyes.

"Jenna's perfectly safe. Besides, it's just a fact-finding mission. Totally harmless." Damon replied, shrugging as he took a sip of his drink.

"Just a fact-finding mission?" Alaric asked, raising an eyebrow in suspicion as Damon nodded. "Listen, no sneak-attacks, no surprise plans, nothing that's going to put Jenna in harm's way, okay?" He added, looking at Damon expectantly.

"Scout's honor." Damon replied, causing Alaric to take a step back, nodding slightly to show he believed him.

"Hey, could I get some help with the wine?" Jenna called from the kitchen, causing Alaric to sigh out quietly.

Alaric left the room, leaving Harper and Damon alone.

"Harper, I need you to promise you won't say anything." Damon spoke as soon as Alaric had left the room, heading over to the bookshelf, leaving Harper standing there, confused.
