IT HAD BEEN A FEW DAYS SINCE THE BONFIRE, and things were only getting stranger as time went on.

Vicki had gone slightly insane, refusing to talk to anyone when she woke up. They figured it was due to trauma from the attack, but then, she went missing from the hospital one night, which sent everyone into a frenzy trying to hunt her down. Stefan found her, eventually, and Vicki ended up being okay.

Harper still had the weird feeling in her stomach, but she had managed to suppress it while trying to ignore everything that was going on. She just couldn't help but wonder what really happened to Vicki. She knew an animal would have torn Vicki apart much worse than she had been.

Not to mention, Harper had other things to worry about. One of those being cheer tryouts. Bonnie and Elena had insisted that Harper did cheerleading with them again, despite her protests. Harper didn't appreciate that Caroline was the captain and ran the entire show, especially since she thought Caroline had it out for her.

Nonetheless, Harper found herself on the track that afternoon, huddled up with a bunch of girls to try out for the team.

"By the way, both of you are coming to dinner tonight." Elena stated as the stretched, glancing over at Bonnie and Harper, who looked confused.

"We are?" Bonnie asked, a small smile on her face as she stretched.

"Mhm. You, Harper, me and Stefan." Elena replied, causing Bonnie's face to fall slightly at the mention of Stefan. She claimed that she was having "bad juju" about Stefan, but couldn't explain to either of her friends what that really meant. "You have to give him a chance, Bonnie." Elena added, a stern look on her face as she looked at Bonnie.

"But tonight's no good." Bonnie replied, shaking her head slightly. "Have you seen Caroline? I texted her like a hundred times." Bonnie added, causing Harper to laugh slightly.

"Nice way of changing the subject, Bon." Harper retorted, earning a small glare from Bonnie.

"You'e going to be there." Elena stated firmly, not wanting to give Bonnie a chance to argue with her.

"Fine. But only because Harper will have to struggle through it with me." Bonnie replied, sighing out in annoyance as she glanced over at the blonde.

"I think it'll be fun. We'll get to know Elena's new boy a little better." Harper added, grinning slightly as Elena rolled her eyes.

"Very funny." Elena replied, shaking her head as both Bonnie and Harper laughed, knowing Elena was avoiding admitting her real feelings towards Stefan.

"Seriously, where is Caroline?" Bonnie asked, looking around to see if she could spot the blonde around them.

"I don't know. It's not like her." Elena replied, taking a sip of water as she shrugged her shoulders. She wasn't wrong, either, considering Caroline was never late to any event.
