Chapter 26: Mr Clean

Eren POV:

I lost

I haven't lost a fight in ages, I forgot what this felt like

The worthlessness and loneliness that comes with the feeling of loss

He doesn't deserve it

I was about to kill him, if they gave me just another round-

Just one more-

I could've stopped him-

But I didn't

Grrrrrraaaa

Grisha: "Come on kid. Let's get you back to the changing room, we've still got Levi's fight to watch" (he said this trying to convince me to be happy but I just couldn't)

Eren: "... Yeah, I suppose"

Shadis: "I'm still proud of you kid. You did good, should've won in my opinion. He's all roided out and shit and you ended the fight like a champ"

He ruffled my hair and patted me on the shoulder

I walked back to the changing rooms with my dad

The screams of the audience all becoming background noise

I walk with my head down low in defeat

I see 'The Jaegerists' look even more defeated than me. Mina and Historia are both clutching to each other whilst in tears

Some of the other girls look distraught, they're flipping the Sokolov team off but they know they've won

Although Chestibor doesn't look too happy himself

I guess that's because he doesn't feel like he's won in a winner's fashion

He's practically being carried out by his team as he has an arm over each of man's shoulders on either side of him

I walked back through the tunnel and turned into the changing rooms until I saw a small woman with a kind expression

She was probably 5'2 with caramel eyes and short ginger hair

She sat on one of the benches in the changing room, cross legged with her hands clasped in her lap

When I walked in she stood up and smiled at me

Petra: "Hey Eren. I'm Levi's wife, Petra. We watched what happened and Levi was very impressed. We both think you should've won"

She smiles after saying that, placing her hand on my shoulder

Eren: "Thank you Ms"

Petra: "Just call me Petra. I'm sorry my husband can be a bit of a downer but I think he's taken a liking to you"

She smiles again

Petra: "Well, I'm going to go back up to Levi. I wanted him to come with me but he has a fight soon"

Eren: "Okay, thank you Petra"

And with that, she walked out, turned left and went up the spiralled stairs

I got changed and went into my medical exam

The fact my jaw clicked worried the doctor but I've only pulled the muscles

My eye was cut but fine, maybe a slight black eye

They originally thought my eardrum was ruptured but after finding no such hole or rip, it was concluded that I badly cut a part of my ear

After further assessment they found that I had cut the bottom of my ear quite badly

I was going to miss my next fight but I'd be fine for the championship which would be in just over a month
