panic! in mia's mind. she could not believe she just did that. she just yelled at him. idiot! she thought. wait! if i react the way a fan would react, then i'm only going to prove his point and i am NOT blinded by my fan ness. is that a word? but what even is the typical way a fan would react? am i stereotyping against fans? oh my gosh, what's wrong with me—oh right the police is here.

mia nervously glanced at jeongguk besides her who was still uncomfortably slouched in the passenger seat.

"uh...um w-we should get out when the police are gone and then go in the way we discussed," she squeaked.

jeongguk, unsure how to respond, just nodded. he put back the wigs he had taken off earlier.

mia internally groaned. she's supposed to be a little upset at him for assuming she was blinded by her fanness and here she is squeaking while speaking to him. ugh. she did her best to turn her face of anxiety to one of disappointment. she quickly practiced her frowns before feeling jeongguk's gaze on her. she glanced his away, causing him to jerk his head to the side away from her.

it was awkward amongst them as they waited for the police to finally leave their house. once they did, mia began gathering her bag. she then took the keys out of the ignition, and got out of the car. she walked over to jeongguk's side and opened his door, stepping aside as he got out. he had the bags they took with them in hand.

mia locked the car and took in a deep breathe. then she gestured for jeongguk to follow her as she walked across the street, tiptoeing and ducking until she came across her house door.

"remember, when i am inside, that's when you start climbing in," she reminded him without looking at him. she took in another deep breathe and placed her hand on the door knob.

jeongguk quickly got in position, ready to stick his head out the window into the dining room.

but as mia quietly opened the door, prepared for whatever may be behind it, her stupid brother across the hall locked eyes with her. ahhh stupid. stupid!

whatever he was yelling she immediately tuned it out. then her parents noticed her and then noticed jeongguk with his torso sticking out of the window. he did his best to stay still as if that will make him invisible but to his surprise, it didn't work.

"mia, who the hell is that?" mrs. valesquez asked sternly as he reached the living room.

although mia felt defeated, she racked her brain to come up with the best lie. she thought back to what jeongguk had said. she realized she was becoming a better lier. or was she?

"this is...this is," she started, watching the faces of her family. she did a side step to jeongguk and quickly helped him out of the window, making all the bags of wigs and disguises fall in the process. a beard fell on the floor. mia chuckled nervously as jeongguk stood up. he started biting his lip.

"your boyfriend!" daniel exclaimed in shock.

"que?!" her parents gasped dramatically. jeongguk got light-headed.

mia internally groaned. oh my gosh. she silently whispered an "i'm sorry" knowing that jeongguk would be able to see a translation even from a whisper of hers. before he could respond, her annoying brother spouted out another theory.

"i knew you were pregnant!"

jeongguk coughed on his fake beard.

mia gasped and immediately took off her shoe and threw it at her brother, "absolutely not! where the hell did you get that idea—"

"and where the hell did you get a boyfriend?!" mr. valesquez yelled. his infuriated face was enough to burn holes in jeongguk's shirt.

mia ran a hand down her face before peeking through them to see translations of jeongguk's faint whispers besides her. no one can hear him but she can read what he was saying. wait, it might be better for them to believe i am your boyfriend. if they saw the inflatable bed in your room, it might help explain that.
