YOLANDA & THE BECKS

"go back to your room!" yolanda yelled in her most non-threatening voice. this was actually very difficult for her to do seeing as she often finds herself yelling at her siblings in some capacity like a military sergeant. being in the presence of two kpop idols made her question every move more than she thought. she's usually confident, cool-headed but something about the way taehyung was sharing the same air as her was throwing her off. she tried to ignore the way her face grew red when she became aware of the fact that they were two feet away from her in the garage probably staring at her along with her parents and brother zander who weren't tasked with the annoying job of getting the other becks children to stay outside of the garage while they conducted their meeting.

once yolanda was sure none of the kids were snooping, she gave one final tap on the door and found her way back to the rest of the group huddled near her dad's carpentry table. she caught sight of taehyung curiously looking around the garage where he was hours earlier in the night. yolanda cursed in her heard, remembering the bangtan bombs from wish in a box somewhere.

"sorry that took so long, if i had help maybe it would have been easier, mom or dad," yolanda hinted.

mrs. beck shrugged, "i was having a lovely conversation with yoongi and taehyung i couldn't be taken away."

mr. beck nodded, "what she said."

yolanda nodded unamused, "uh-huh."

"okay guys we have to help these guys. time is running out," zander exclaimed, eager to help his idols. his years of learning korean has paid off for this exact moment. the group murmured in agreement as zander turned to the boys and in his best korean, said, "how can we help you? where do you need to go? we can take you there."

taehyung and yoongi looked amongst each other unsure of how much to reveal but there seemed to be no other option.

taehyung spoke up, "we're looking for clues that can help us with jeonngguk. i don't know exactly what happened, but to believe us, you need to believe in the possibility of magic--'' he stopped as he noticed zander paused in his translation to his family.

"magic?" zander asked outloud, cocking his head to the side, allowing his floppy hair to sink to the side. yolanda caught his eyes and frowned. magic?

yolanda was a simple woman. the world was what it was. she was a practical person, and anything outside of that was unfathomable. when you have parents who felt like they were created by a cartoonist, logical is the escape, what actually makes sense, the truth, reality. it fueled her passion to be a lawyer. but this? magic? what did this have to do it with it? she realized without a doubt her siblings would believe it all.

if taehyung himself is asking her to believe in magic, she should--no, she'll have to. there's no time. she's already unraveling as it is. her cool has left the station the minute they entered her van.
