MIA & JEONGGUK

MR. VALESQUEZ AWOKE at the early hour of 5:00am to get all the suitcases and camping gear in the car. he didn't want to create a ruckus of noise while the neighbors left for work so he figured he would take his time and carefully put everything in the car ready to go while the family slept.

well, all except his daughter mia. she was seated on the dining table looking outside the window as her dad loaded the car. her body woke her up early, even before her alarm, knowing that today was the day of the "big" escape. she was going to be away from her parents for who knows how long. she still couldn't believe how supportive they were being. and archie. the thought of him reminded mia of the day before when she confused jeongguk for archie.

gosh, i'm so embarrassing, she thought shaking her head.

she turned to her left to watch the very man sleeping on the inflatable bed in front of the tv and surrounded by the couches. the shine of glow in the dark ceiling stickers left a sickly green complexion on his beautiful face but he was still radiant as ever.

mia took the opportunity to make his way towards him and just watch him. what? i'm sure you'd do the same thing.

she got up from her chair and immediately tripped over the leg, falling to the wooden floor with a thud.

"ah!" she yelped.

oh shoot what if he heard that?! she thought covering her mouth anxiously while her chin throbbed in pain. she looked up to see he hadn't stirred and sighed in relief.

"phew," mia whispered. she pushed herself off the floor and began to crawl towards the couch.

she sat down besides the arm rest and leaned against the side, sighing as she had the perfect sight to look into jeongguk's closed eyes.

how peaceful he looked. every time she looked at him the denial remained about the fact that he was even here. she went over every little interaction and conversation they had and smiled shyly at the thought.

their sneakiness around the house, their awkward interactions, his cute smile. he was supportive and a good listener and immediately took the role of being a helper around the house when he was a person used to people serving him. seeing him interact with her family was a different side to him, perhaps not so confident. and still the side of him she was familiar with in his variety shows, run episodes, vlives and the like were all real. it was him. he was honest and true to who he was and he honestly didn't have to be. he had no obligation to please his fans or mia despite his contract. and yet he intentionally strives to be as genuine as possible that includes displaying and admitting his flaws.

"gosh, you're literally sleeping and you still manage to make me blush," she whispered, covering her burning cheeks. she felt her heart skip a beat at her words. it was almost as if she had a schoolgirl crush on him. a crush? she thought at the word. no, i'm just his fan that's why i'm so giddy. fans blush, right?

then it hit her. they were going to be alone. together. i've seen enough kdrama to know how this ends...she groaned internally. but perhaps nothing will happen because usually there's a reciprocated, mutual romance going on. again, she's just his fan.

"no crush," she frowned and nodded to assure herself.

suddenly jeongguk stirred, moving the position of his head higher and his lips quipped into a small smile. mia melted as once again she was reminded of their time together and every smile they shared.

animated hearts began to appear around her like the ones from vlive, popping up everywhere. she covered her mouth in shock then began swatting then like flies.
