"wait, i can see you," jeongguk said.

jeongguk was shocked to find a girl before him with curly brown hair with purple highlights and clear glasses sitting on the bridge of her small nose at the other end of his screen and not his reflection. she was just as shocked as him and he could see  her hand shaking holding the grape juice.

it was the same hand he...touched?

he still didn't know. but jeongguk was sure that he felt something that wasn't actually there with him.

and not only that. but he understood the english words that had come out of her mouth. he thought he was fluent in english, but no, it was something else. it was the subtitles that had appeared on his screen, translating her every word.

"what the..?" he muttered, setting down his glass and looking straight  at his camera. it was almost like he was watching her vlive and not the other way around.

utterly confused, jeongguk grabbed his phone to check the comments on vlive.

they were normal. fans professed their love, made requests, mentioned the "ghost" behind him. emojis were everywhere. people were clicking the heart every second they got.

but how they heck can he see that one army?

the girl before him moved as he can see form the corner of his eyes. he gasped and directed is attention to everything she did.

now the comments were going crazy:

we were just kidding, jeongguk there's no ghost behind you !

what's wrong, bby?

he's jungshooketh

wat is goin on?

did i miss something?

but he didn't notice them. he just waited for the army to do something that indicated if she had felt or send the same weird things he has.

he took a leap of faith and asked in korean, "our hands...touched?"

the army opened her eyes wide. but she wasn't looking at him. she was looking downwards. at the bottom of her screen.

"yes! yes! yes!" she yelled in excitement.

jeongguk sighed in relief, glad he wasn't crazy but then realized that she literally replied to him and more subtitles popped up to translate. he got dizzy.

"can you understand me?" jeongguk said this time in korean. his heart was beating fast.

"yes," she replied in english. "oh my goodness this is insane," she muttered under her breathe.

jeongguk's heart beats faster.

"let's clink bottles again," he said in korean. this time he made sure it applied to the other armies who were confused in the comments. he looked at the camera and smiled, "everyone, let's clink bottles again for the new armies tuning in."

but he was meaning it for the only army on his screen. she grabbed her grape juice and lifted it up just as jeongguk did. they looked at each other with a weird cautiousness.

"ready?" jeongguk exclaimed, waiting for the army to nod on his screen, "one, two, three, cheers!"

the put their glasses towards the corner of their screens and heard a loud clink.

jeongguk gasped. he could see a small blue cloud form around his hand and the hands of another emerging from his screen touch his.

her hand with the glass was right in front of him. in real life!

he reached out his other hand and cautiously poked her finger.

"ah!" the army yelped as she felt his warm touch.

she jerked her hand away but before her hand would disappear from the blue cloud, jeongguk grabbed it with his free hand, spilling her grape juice in his table and letting her glass cup roll with it.

she looked at her screen.

he looked at his camera.

"what are you doing?" she asked in english and those subtitles appeared again.

she tried to jerk her hand back but it wouldn't budge. jeongguk had a tight grip on it.

he wanted to tell her that he was curious about what was going on and wanted to test this weird magic thing a little longer. but he feared the other armies watching wouldn't understand.

by now, a different puddles of wine and grape juice had fell on their hands and on his table.

"okay. since you're not letting go, i'm going to have to do this. sorry kooky," she mumbled and shut her eyes tightly.

the army jerked her hand away even harder this time and their hands were no longer visible on his side but were now on hers.

jeongguk's eyes widened as he was pulled closer to his camera. he sat up from his chair.

"no, wait!"

she pulled away one more time until all of jeongguk's body including his poor wine glass was thrust into the small blue cloud and he magically fell into the room of the army.

more specifically, on her bed. on. top. of. her.

jeongguk was no longer in his comfortable hotel room. he was in new jersey in the humble home of mia velasquez.
