Time seemed to have stretched as everyone was taken inside the Momota household. Everyone, minus Kokichi, took in turns to explain what had happened: White and his experiments; the torture that everyone had to endure; the forceful separation from their loved ones; everyone escaping and what happened after most of the group were recaptured. Everyone was around the dining table, most of them standing. Kaito had been placed on the couch, laying down so silently that he might as well have not been there at all. He was still wrapped in the blanket so he could be kept warm. The elders sat silently. They listened to every word as best they could. They took everything that they were hearing in. They didn't stop the Limitless so they could ask a question, they felt like that they couldn't ask one. The Limitless tried to explain without going into too much detail about what had happened in the lab, but in some cases it was quite impossible. The entire atmosphere was heavy with a blend of emotions. Anger, hate, sadness and pain was the only thing that everyone was feeling throughout the explanation.

"Those bastards." Kaito's grandfather hissed, his face starting to turn red with anger. That was the first thing that he had said at all during the explanation. He clinched his fists so tight that they became pearl white.

"How could they do this to anybody? Just because they are different." Kaito's grandmother hissed, seemingly just as angry as her husband.

"You're certain that they won't hurt Kaito or any of you again?" Kaito's grandfather asked, wanting to be sure of everything and what had happened to the scientist.

"White's dead. I made sure of it." Maki said, her voice and face void of emotion. She can't bring herself to feel anything right now. That was the last thing that she felt like the elders needed.

"I'm glad. I would've killed him myself if-" Kaito's grandfather scowled, his fists clenching even tighter.

"Dear, please." His wife hissed as she wrapped an arm around his shoulder to try to calm him down.

"No one hurts our boy without consequences!" Kaito's grandfather declared, slamming his hand on the table, causing a dull thud to echo in the room. As it faded, the elder held his hand as a mark started to appear on it, showing how hard he had hit the table. "I hope the bastard burns in Hell." Everyone didn't need to say that they agreed with the elder. They all wished that they assisted Maki in ending the one behind their torment. The only thing that they got now was some sick kind of satisfaction knowing that White was finally dead. That he got what he deserved.

"We thought maybe bringing Kaito here might snap him out of the state he's in." Rantaro enquired, trying to change the subject a little whilst gesturing over to where Kaito was laying. The said teenager was blankly staring at the ceiling, unable to do anything else. "That maybe being with his family could help out. We thought that it was worth a try." The elders shared a glance. It seemed hopeful but everyone could see a small trace of doubt in their eyes. The elders slowly got up, still feeling overwhelmed with emotion and with what they had learned. They walked over to Kaito, who hadn't moved an inch at all. They knelt down to him. Kaito's grandfather gently turned his head a little, causing it to limply roll to the side.

"Kaito? Can you hear me? It's Grandpa." Kaito's grandfather asked gently. Nothing.

"You're home now. You're safe." Kaito's grandmother whispered, stroking what was left of Kaito's hair, which wasn't very much. Again, Kaito didn't respond. "Please come back..." Again, there was nothing. Not even a flicker in Kaito's eyes to indicate that it was working. Kaito was just staring blankly at his family, seeming to not register his surroundings. Everyone could feel their spirits dampen as they saw this. They kept telling themselves that there was still a chance, that there was still a small glimmer of hope. There had to be. Kaito was too stubborn to be like this forever.
