Maki glared down at the nail in front of her. She was sitting cross legged on the basement floor, the room being lit by a dim light bulb. She felt refreshed after not using her telekinesis since she woke up. Since she hadn't used them like that for a long time, she thought that she should starting building her powers up so she wouldn't end up that weak again. Moving something small like a nail to start off with should be alright. She'll start off small, and slowly build herself up as she gets stronger. The nail seemed like the most suitable object for her to try to move at the moment. However, she was a lot weaker than she thought she was. She had only moved the nail about an inch. She had hoped to move it further away from her.

Maki kept glaring hard at the nail, trying to move it away from her. She tried to use her frustrations to make it move. Being angry and frustrated and similar emotions like that often worked. She tried to think about how she was treated and how she was still being treated by everyone. She could see the nail twitching a little. She used all those emotions to concentrate. That was until she heard knocking on the basement door. Sighing in frustration, Maki grabbed the nail to keep her from stepping on it, slipped it in her pocket and went back up the stairs. She didn't know what to expect when she opened the door, but she'd be lying if she said that she wasn't surprised.

"Hungry?" Kaito asked, handing out a small, polystyrene box to Maki while holding one himself. Judging by the fact that no one else seems to be in the building, Kaito had joined the others to get food somewhere, but brought it back for Maki and himself. Damn this idiot. Damn him for caring. Damn him for being so trusting. Why did he care so much about her?! He didn't seem to have any malicious intent for her, but Maki couldn't trust him just yet.

"Shouldn't you be with your friends?" Maki asked, crossing her arms defensively.

"Yeah. I am with one. And that's you, Maki Roll." Kaito smiled, shrugging a little.

"Maki Roll?" Maki repressed with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah. Or would you prefer Harumaki?" Kaito grinned. Maki felt like he was acting like a kid poking a venomous snake just for fun. He was just about to start getting on her nerves right about now.

"Neither. And I am not your friend. I don't deserve any." Maki sighed, hoping to get this idiot off of her back for a while.

"Like it or not, you have one now, Maki Roll." Kaito kept smiling, ignoring that Maki didn't want the nickname or company. He offered the box to Maki again. At first Maki didn't take it. That's when her stomach reminded her of how empty it was. Kaito tried and failed to keep in a chuckle as Maki's stomach gurgled loudly and she took the box from his hand. It felt warm in her cold hands. "Mind if I join you?" Again, Kaito didn't even seem to have any ill intent for Maki. If anything, he was being genuine about his intent to keep her company.

"I get the feeling that even if I say no, you're going to come down anyway, right?" Maki sighed. The smug looking face that Kaito had said it all. He was being a stubborn idiot right now. And if Maki had to be honest, she didn't have the energy to get him to leave her alone. Giving up, Maki silently went back downstairs, Kaito following her after closing the door behind him. They both sat on the floor, eating the hot rice and curry that Kaito brought back. Maki felt content as she finally felt like she had the first decent meal that she's had in a long time. As she ate, Maki couldn't help but think at what Kaito was up to. He genuinely seemed to want her as a friend. When is this idiot going to get it through his thick skull? She doesn't want him anywhere near her. The last time she called someone a friend, that person was her target. It hurt her badly to murder someone that genuinely thigh that of her as a friend. She doesn't want to be forced to hurt anyone that got too close to her. She didn't deserve to have any friends, and that's the end of it.
