Kaito felt heavy when he woke up finally. His head was killing him. It made him feel like it was going to split into two if he moved his head. He felt like he couldn't move his body much. It made him feel dizzy and sick just thinking about trying to move. He opened his eyes a little, immediately wishing that he didn't. Opening his eyes only made his headache worse. For that brief moment when he opened his eyes, he thought that he saw pure white. He was laying on something soft as well. There was this coldness around him. What happened to him? He remembers walking to school. That's when he was suddenly dragged into a van. And he was knocked out as he was fighting back. He doesn't remember what his assailants look like, so he can't identify them if he escaped.
Kaito finally felt less dizzy and opened his eyes at last. His vision was blurry, making it hard to identify anything. Kaito shook his head a little, trying to make it clearer. His vision thankfully cleared up. He had a better look around him. He was in a pure white room alright. There was a one way glass on one side of it and a door on the other side. A security camera was in the top corner of the room, taking in everything that was going on around the teenager. There was machinery next to him, but none of it was switched on. That's when Kaito realised that he was laying on a bed. No, not just laying on it. His wrists and ankles were strapped down onto it. He had been stripped of his school uniform and was now wearing something that resembled a hospital gown. He almost felt like he was a patient in a psychiatric ward.
Seeing if he could get free, Kaito tugged at the restraints as hard as he could. He regretted it as he felt like they were digging into his skin harshly. Kaito laid still, trying to think of something else. He briefly wondered if shouting would help, but he wasn't sure if it would. After all, he didn't know where he was or who kidnapped him. He didn't even know why he was kidnapped in the first place. Ransom couldn't be it, but there was a slim possibility. However, given his surroundings, Kaito had a horrible gut feeling that the people that took him were organ traders in the black market. Was he really going to die here?
Kaito once again started to tug a little at the restraints, when the door opened. A middle aged man with snow white hair and stubble. He had a pair of round rimmed glasses. He wore a pair of black trousers and shoes, a white shirt and a long white lab coat. He was looking down at a clipboard in his hands. Was this guy some kind of doctor?
"Ah. Good to see that you're awake." The doctor said cheerily when he finally looked up at Kaito. As he approached, Kaito tried as best he could to move away. The restraints only allowed him to move at least an inch. "It's alright. I'm not going to hurt you."
"Yeah right! You kidnapped me!" Kaito spat as the doctor placed the clipboard down. He didn't care how kind this guy was, Kaito shouldn't trust him until he is given a good reason to.
"I do apologise, but it was a necessary procedure. Stay still." The doctor sighed as he slipped on a stethoscope. He listened to Kaito's heartbeat. The high schooler flinched a little at this, but tried to remain calm. "Your heart's beating fast. Do you have any health conditions related to the heart?"
"No." Kaito said carefully.
"Good, you're just anxious then. My name is Dr. White. I run this facility." The doctor muttered as he hung the stethoscope from his neck. He arched over and started to undo the restraints on Kaito's ankles and wrists. "Again, I apologise for the rude invitation. And the restraints. Some of the others put up a good fight when summoned and had awoken here."
""Others"?" Kaito repeated as he sat up, rubbing his currently sore wrists.
"Others like you." White answered, looking a little excited. Others like him? So Kaito wasn't the only one who had powers. While this gave him some relief, there was something that didn't feel right. If there were others, were they brought here the same way as him. It was so inhumane to be brought to whatever this place was. Another thing that made Kaito worry was the fact that this guy knew about his power. He only used it last night, the first time since he was a tiny kid.
