"Run."

Before anyone pull process anything, Kaito acted fast. He dropped the baseball bat, emitting dull thuds on the ground. The spun around so fast that he almost lost his balance. He drew back his fist and swung it wildly. It hit his target as there was a loud crunch as Katsu suddenly fell to the ground. He sat up, blood gushing out of his nose.

"Kaito-" Kaito's grandfather started to say, but Kaito cut him off.

"Gramps! Run now!" He barked, looking down at the elder sharply. Kaito's grandfather hesitated. After a few seconds, he crawled and stood up, staggering to the fire exit. Bryce tried to grab him, but Kaito was faster. He rapidly stepped in front of the aggressor and kneeled him in the gut. He pushed Bryce harshly, sending him crashing into Gorou. Kaito backed away from the boys, making sure that he would be prepared in case they came at him again.

"What the hell, idiot?!" Gorou barked as all three stood up, glaring at Kaito. Kaito glared back. The cold air suddenly felt hot from the tension and the tempers rising.

"You're the idiots! I told you to leave my family out of this! I will NOT let this stand." Kaito shouted, his face becoming as dark as thunder. He can't deny that he wanted to hurt them, he really wanted to. They had no right to go anywhere near his family, but to threaten to harm them was a step too far. It took everything he had not to launch himself at them. As much as he wanted to do more to them, it was too dangerous to fight up here.

"You're not a man then!" Bryce spat, shaking a fist at him. Kaito clenched his fist tightly, so tight that he could hear his knuckles cracking.

"If this is what it means to be a man, then you should go see a therapist!" He shouted again, his body tense from all the anger he felt bubbling inside of him. He pointed a warning finger at all three of his so called "friends". They seemed a little surprised at what he had said, but he ignored it. "Now for the final time. I'm...DONE! You touch me or my family again, you'll get arrested. Final warning." The boys glared at him again, but didn't do anything. Thinking that enough was enough, Kaito started to make his way to the fire exit, preferring to be inside where there might be cameras in case something goes wrong. Once he's down on ground level, he's going to get his grandfather home as fast as he could. Then he will call the police about this. Even if they can't do much about it, at least he would've reported it. And if anything like this or worse happens again, the police would at least know about tonight's incident.

"We're not done with you, bastard!" Katsu suddenly declares. He grabs Kaito by the back of his coat and forced him to face him. He punches Kaito in the chest, causing him to stumble back, clutching his chest in agony. "You're done, when we say you are!" Katsu shoved Kaito harshly. They didn't realise how far Kaito had stumbled back. That was until Kaito felt the edge of the roof on the back of his knees. They buckled under him, his body weight failing him as he fell backwards. He was in so much shock that he couldn't bring himself to scream.

The three watched as Kaito disappeared from their view. They felt the colour drain from their faces. While they intended to harm, they never wanted to kill someone. They'll have to find a way to cover this up somehow. They didn't want to go to jail, even if it was an accident. Wanting to be sure that Kaito had died from the fall, they peered over the side. However, they never expected to see...that!

"Holy shit..."

Kaito didn't know what was happening. He didn't know how it happened to begin with. His eyes were so wide, that he wondered how they hadn't bulged out of his skull. He couldn't bring himself to move. He wasn't even sure if he was breathing. He wasn't even sure if this was a dream or reality. He only knew only one thing. He was no more than a few feet off of the ground. His body was suspended in mid air. That was all that he knew. He could do nothing more than look at the ground under him.

"What the...?" Was all he could mutter. As suddenly as he realised what had happened, he fell. He collided with the ground with a soft thud. He laid there, stunned. He found it almost impossible to breathe. He wasn't sure if he could even move right now. By time he felt like he could move again, it felt like he had been laying on the damp, cold ground for hours. He shivered a little as he sat up.

"He's a demon!"

"Let's get the fuck outta here!"

Kaito looked up at the voices, seeing the boys trembling in fear of him before they ran away. He wished that he could laugh at that moment. Those boys certainly won't want to come anywhere near him or his family again. However, Kaito couldn't force the laughter out. He looked down at his hands. They were slightly grazed and shook from the shock of it all. How could that have happened? Why did it happen? Desperate for answers, Kaito looked around, hoping to see someone on the street to give him answers. He only saw his grandfather in the door leading into the apartment building. Telling by the look on his face, he had seen it too.

"G-Grandpa? What...just...?" Kaito stuttered, unable to say his words properly. His grandfather suddenly went stoic as he approached him. He brought the stunned boy to his feet almost immediately.

"Let's get you home, Kaito." Was all that he said as he started leading Kaito home. The snow started to fall around them as they left the scene behind. Kaito only mutely walked beside him, his mind still processing what the hell just happened.
