THE TIME HAS COME

It was the last day where punishment for Mrs.Jung Yoonha will be decided. The last day where Mrs.Jeon can save her friend and together, they can start to live a new life. Everyone was already there, waiting for Mrs.Jung Yoonha to be brought into the court. Eunha looked around at her side (gallery), there was no one except her, Mrs.Jeon and Jungkook, sitting there to support her mother. On the other side is the parents of Mr.Jeon and their relatives, ogling at her.

Eunha couldn't explain how nervous she is now. She prays so bad that her mother will tell the truth and will be free from all the charges. If that does not happen, she did not know what else she could do. After a few moments of waiting, her mother finally be brought to the court and let to seat beside Mrs.Jeon.

As the judge gave the first knock, the court trial begins. The lawyer at the Mr.Jeon's side began explaining and showing tons of evidence to show that her mother is guilty. When being asked to be clarified by Mrs.Jeon, she nailed it. Now it's turns for her mother to defend herself. Seeing that her mother remains quiet, Mrs.Jeon asked for the judge permission to interrupt and to play the cassette, where her mother had explained everything. The judges began listened to it carefully.

"You can't use that! You got no alibi and she has mental issue." Mr.Jeon lawyer said.

"Yes, she has mental issue and it's all because of her husband, Jung Euntaek kept abusing her. We have the records of the bruises on her body." Mrs.Jeon said while giving a document to one of the judges before she continued. "She was just trying to protect herself. Therefore, I would like to extend this trial. We have to find Jung Euntaek to give his statement and clarify us on this."

After Mrs.Jeon giving her statement, now it's turn for Mrs.Jung Yoonha to give her statement for the last time. Eunha tried to make eye contact with her mother but Mrs.Jung kept her head down. Eunha began to get nervous. 'Please look at me, mother. Please.' Eunha begged, but only can say it in her heart. Jungkook on the other hand began feeling worried like Eunha too.

"Mrs.Jung Yoonha. Do you have anything to say to us?" One of the judges asked.

"I-I...I have to admit it." Mrs.Jung paused to look at Mrs.Jeon before she continued. "I'm sorry, Sehye-ah. I am the one who actually stab Jungsuk. Not Euntaek. I stab him with my mind fully conscious. Euntaek was never there and he was not the one who stabbed him. It's me. I did it. I did kill Jungsuk. It's all my fault. I just want to end everything. So, I kill Jungsuk." Mrs. Jung Yoonha said, making eye contact with the judges.

Eunha and Mrs.Jeon began panicking.

"It's not true, my honour. Mrs.Jung must be a bit depressed now. She-..." Mrs.Jeon tried to defend.

"No, Sehye-ah. I'm telling you the real truth. I'm the one who kill Jungsuk." Mrs. Jung said, "I'm very sorry Sehye-ah."

Mrs.Jeon who was trying her best to hold her tears found it difficult to find the right words now.

"Yoonha-yah...please..." Mrs.Jeon said.

"Mrs.Jung had finally admitted on what she was charged to. So, I hope the judge can make a fair decision on her punishment." Mr.Jeon lawyer said and excused himself. The judge looks at Mrs.Jeon and began discussing among the judges to decide.

It was an intense moment. Eunha's heart was beating fast. 'Please extend the trial, please extend the trial, please. Let us find father, let us bring Jung Euntaek here. Please, please.' Eunha said to herself, praying.

"After hearing the plaintiff and the defendant's side, with careful consideration being made, Mrs. Jung Yoonha will be facing 10 years in jail. But due to her poor mental health and in consideration of her abusing history, according to section 1 of Criminal Act and under Article 10, Mrs.Jung Yoonha's punishment shall be mitigated to 8 years in jail. The sentence is final." With that, the judge hammer is knocked 3 times, signaling that the decision is final.
