Call it true
Call it true love

. . . .

"We should do something tonight," I suggest while I sit on the edge of his desk as he fills in some final grades for his classes.

"I have to go somewhere tonight, but it shouldn't take too long."

He clicks the keys of his keyboard, his eyes never leaving the illuminated screen of his desktop.

"Where are you going?"

"It's a surprise, but I'm taking Lilly along. So, you'll be at the house for an hour or two by yourself."

I roll my eyes faux dramatically and groan a 'fine'. He stops his typing to roll his chair over so he's sitting directly in front of my legs. His arms wrap around my waist, his chin nuzzling against the tops of my thighs.

"Don't be that way. I'll pick up some dinner and we'll watch some movies."

"We always do that, though. I wish we could go out and do things in public together."

"I know you hate the privacy of our relationship, but just remember that sooner or later, we'll be able to walk around downtown without getting judged."

He's so relaxed about all of this, but no matter how many times I try to convince myself that he's right, the tension of the age difference is still a small blip in our relationship. I don't want to care what people say about us, and it's difficult to stay lax about everything when I feel the anxiety of when people inevitably find out about us if we choose to stay a couple. When that happens, it's going to be obvious how much older he is than I.

"I love you," I tell him and scoot closer to him to kiss his smooth lips.

"I love you more, Vi."

Soon enough, the bell rings and I'm forced to go to my calculus class where we simply sit there on our phones while a movie plays on the screen. Of course, the movie is educational, so if Beckman happens to barge in unexpectedly, it seems as if we're doing something. I would ask to go down to see Harry but I know he has a class this period, even though they're not doing anything either, what possible reason would I give to ask to see him? It's not like we have any class assignments.

I decide to just text him and he replies back immediately.

Harry: Jesus Christ, this class is dragging on. I despise this period.

Violet: what are you guys doing?

Harry: Absolutely nothing, but they keep bitching at me to play stupid ass movies that I really don't want to watch.

Violet: like what?

Harry: Twilight

Violet: poor baby

Harry: Tell me about it. I wish this school day would be over already.

Violet: I have to go. Beckman just walked in

Harry: I love you!

Beckman's still in the room talking to the teacher, and it's a huge risk to do this with her in here, but I can't help myself to reply back to his message.

Violet: I love you so much more Har

Lunch quickly rolls around, and Harris and I are stood in the long lunch line amongst the other students. It takes a while for us to get our food, but once we do, we sit down at our usual table beside the windows overlooking the courtyard and the lower end of campus.
