Episode 2: Golden Digieggs

Tai stepped out of the school after the final bell. He ran a hand through his spiky brown hair with a stressed sigh. Homework was hard.

"Tai!" Someone shouted. The boy turned, seeing his best friends Matt and Sora running towards him.

"Hey! What's up?" He asked with a large grin.

"Something's wrong. I got a message from T.K. saying that something isn't right in Digi-World." Matt said. Worry was clearly etched onto his facial features.

"Well, let's go!" Tai said, turning to head back into the school. The three kids headed to the computer lab.

"Where could they have gone?" Davis growled as his brown eyes searched for the two mysterious girls.

"Better question is, where are our partners?" Kari asked worriedly. She just wanted Gatomon by her side.

"Davis!"

"Kari!"

Two voices shouted from nearby. The group looked over to see Veemon and Agumon hiding in the mouth of a cave.

"Veemon, hey buddy!" Davis yelled in happiness. He ran over to his partner and hugged him, laughing.

"Agumon, where are the others?" Kari asked as she knelt down by her brother's partner.

Agumon frowned and looked away. His green eyes glazed over in thought. "Ever since Apocalymon started making his army and taking over the zones, everything has been awful. The others could be anywhere. They could be dead or they could be under Apocalymon's evil spell."

"Where is this Apocalymon guy?" Davis asked. "We can take him!" He thrust his fist up in the air determinedly.

"He's a mega level Digimon, and the strongest of all. There is almost nothing we can do to stop him." Agumon warned.

"Can you digivolve?" Kari asked. When her, T.K., Davis, Yolei, and Cody were called to the Digital World, their partners couldn't digivolve normally.

"I'm afraid not," Veemon frowned. "The only way to digivolve is to absorb data by defeating other Digimon."

"That's awful..." T.K. said softly.

"I can't just sit around here! We have to do something!" Kari said angrily. She clenched her fists tightly.

"Well, I texted Matt. He should be here soon, hopefully with the others." T.K. said, leaning against a wall. Suddenly, the wall slid back and he fell backwards.

"What the-?" Davis asked, peering inside the hole.

Lapis puffed a stand of blue hair away from her face. She set her blue Fusion Loader next to her, peering down at the map Caitlin's was projecting.

"If we get the cave Zone's Code Crown, we'll be good as gold. It's possible to be given more data to digivolve, or a raise, or something." She said.

Lapis nodded, looking away. Her mind was set somewhere else, somewhere far away.

"Ma'am?" Gaomon, Gaogamon's Rookie form, asked. Gaomon was a blue dog on two legs with red boxing gloves and a red bandana around his forehead.

"I'm okay." Lapis forced a smile. She reached her hand out and stroked his fur, smiling genuinely slightly now.

Suddenly, Lapis's Fusion Loader beeped, as did Caitlin's. The two looked at them, then each other. They looked back down, following the red dots on the screens.

"What do you think it is?" Caitlin asked.

"Maybe a nice fish buffet." BlackGatomon purred.

"Let's find out." Lapis said, following the dots.

Tai, Sora, and Matt followed a very similar beeping on their square Digivices. They found the cave the others were at, then went inside, finding the hole T.K. fell into.

"Kari!" Tai shouted.

"T.K.!" Matt yelled.

"In here!" Kari shouted back. The three stepped into the hole, following the echoing sound if voices until they found the other three.

"Agumon!" Tai cried as he wrapped his arms around the lizard.

"Tai!" Agumon cheered.

Kari brought them up to speed on what they learned and about the mysterious girls.

"Are those Digieggs?" Sora asked, pointing to the two oddly shaped eggs on a rock pedestal.

One was a yellow color with spikes on the top fanning out. It had the Crest of Destiny on it. The second one was square shaped and golden, with the Crest of Miracles on the top.

"Those see the golden Digieggs! The Digiegg of Miracles and the Digiegg of Destiny!" Davis exclaimed, remembering when he and his friend Willis were allowed to use their powers to armor Digivolve.

"Try using them." Tai told Davis.

Davis tried to grip the Digiegg of Miracles, but couldn't lift it up. He tried again but it was no use.

"I can't do it.." He sighed.

"That's because it isn't yours." A voice said. Everyone looked up to see Lapis and Caitlin.

"Whose is it then?" T.K. challenged, clenching his fists.

"They belong to us." Caitlin said, glaring.

Agumon growled, gearing up to attack.

"Are these the girls?" Matt asked.

"They are." Kari nodded.

"We don't want trouble. We simply want the Digieggs. That's it." BlackGatomon said.

"She looks like Gatomon!" Veemon gasped.

BlackGatomon paused, looking shocked. "You know Gatomon?"

While everyone was distracted by the thought of sweet Gatomon knowing BlackGatomon, Lapis and Caitlin detoured their way to the eggs.

They wrapped their hands around the eggs and pulled. Flashes of light burst forth, shooting upward. Several different lights exploded, shooting around and hitting the group.

Gaomon and BlackGatomon started to tremble, glowing.

"Gaomon armour digivolve to....." Gaomon swirled around the Crest of Miracles, changing form. He became taller and yellow. A blue helmet formed over his head, as did black sunglasses over his eyes. He kept his red boxing gloves, but got red shoes. A blue stuffed toy rested in a pouch. "Kangarumon, the Miraculous Boxer!"

"BlackGatomon armour digivolve to...." BlackGatomon merged with the Crest of Destiny, out stretching her body. Her black and purple skin turned red with fire as she formed into a lion of sorts. "Lynxmon, the Queen of Destiny's Jungle, roar!"

"They're beautiful..." Sora gasped.

"You armour digivolved!" Lapis cheered, hugging Kangarumon around his waist.

"You're on fire, Lynxmon!" Caitlin smiled proudly, nuzzling Lynxmon's head.

"Look!" Matt gasped. Everyone looked down at their Digivices that had now changed into Fusion Loaders.

"What are they?" Tai asked.

"Fusion Loaders. It's what we have." Caitlin explained, showing her black one.

"Let's go, Caitlin. We better hurry." Lapis said.

"Wait!" Kari said. "You were able to open the Digieggs. When you did, we got these Fusion Loaders. You're meant to be with us."

Kangarumon scoffed. "We are not meant to work with the likes of you! You can't even digivolve!"

"We'll crush you!" Lynxmon growled.

We'll see.... Tai thought, glaring.
