Episode 21: Reliable Knowledge and Vain Destiny

Joe let out a large sigh. Gomamon rested next to him, an empty tray of delicious Japanese food before them. The two had just finished having a meal and were now ready for a quick nap. It was the only day Joe had to himself this week.

Just as Joe was about to rest, his digivice beeped loudly. He panicked and picked it up, seeing a red dot blink on the screen.

"Gomamon, we better go!" He said in a rush. He nearly knocked the tray over as he ran to slip his shoes on and get his coat over his shoulders. Gomamon hurried in toe, confused.

"What's going on, Joe?" He asked as the two rushed from their home. Joe kept his eyes on his device as they ran towards where it was telling them to go.

Halfway there, Izzy and Tentomon met them.

"You got it, too?" He asked, referring to the dot on their digivices.

"Yeah. Is anyone else coming?" Joe asked, getting out of breath. He was not fit for running like this.

"Everyone else is busy today, of all days." Tentomon said as he buzzed quickly next to Gomamon.

The group arrived on the scene just in time to see a large serpent Digimon with a metal face and horn destroying the bridge connecting one city to another.

"This is bad!" Joe panicked.

"That's MetalSeadramon." Izzy gasped. Memories of the dark master attacking him and his friends flooded his brain.

"Ready, Gomamon?" Tentomon said.

"Ready!" The seal Digimon barked back.

"Tentomon digivolve to..."

"Gomamon digivolve to..."

"Kabuterimon!" The large blue insectoid rose into the sky as he transformed.

"Ikkakumon!" The massive mass of white fur jumped into the water.

"They aren't strong enough. MetalSeadramon is a Mega level. There's no way the two of them will be able to beat him!" Izzy said. Panic filled his voice and mind. The last fight with the Mega was hard enough, with everyone working together. How could the two do anything now?

Meanwhile, Michaela and Caitlin were having their own problems.

Lapis rested in her bed. Her body radiated such a high temperature, three fans were needed in the room just to keep the other two girls in the room from sweating.

"Something is seriously wrong.." Michaela whispered. In her mind, the darkest of thoughts plagued her. She couldn't lose Lapis, not after she had gotten her in real life for the first time.

Caitlin took care of the mess of tissues she had created. Tears wouldn't leave her eyes anymore, but for a while, they hadn't stopped. Was there anything they could do to help their friend?

Suddenly, a darkness formed over Lapis and a large, pink and green Digimon appeared by her bedside. It was absolutely grotesque.

Michaela shrieked.

"It's Parasimon!" BlackGatomon yelped.

"Get away from her! Ma'am!" Gaomon cried with his teeth bared.

"Parasimon is a parasite Digimon. He leeches off of his host. He might be the reason why she's so sick. He's a Mega level, so be careful." Wizard on said softly.

"I can't digivolve without Lapis." Gaomon growled helplessly.

"And the rest of us are at the Champion level." Sorcermon said in defeat.
