"Thank you," spoke Song Anyue up.

For the first time in this fight, she added another emotion other than biting cold anger - relief.
Lan Wangji nodded in response and blocked another attack from Xue Yang.

"Now this is interesting," he laughed like a madman, "going back on our principles, aren't we!? AREN'T WE!?!"

"I don't care about principles," and her tone was back where it started, "I want you dead."

And the fight broke out anew. Once again, it was more between Lan Wangji and Xue Yang, with Song Anyue mostly dodging and landing a helping hand when needed, as she usually did in fights.

She did want to use her cultivation to end this faster, but she didn't have time before and now, the fog was thickening every second.

Soon, she couldn't even see Xue Yang which rendered any ranged attacks useless. She could only rely on her 6th sense, if she even had that, that is, to block and cover from the attacks, but now, she couldn't see anything.

"I've got you now!" suddenly screamed Xue Yang, he was nearby, Song Anyue could soon smell the blood on his body.

Unwisely, he revealed his position, so not only was Song Anyue able to dodge, Lan Wangji also slashed his arm. This cut was much deeper than any of the ones inflicted by the girls.

Xue Yang drew back.

The two knew he was about to do something, probably not anything good... and so, despite neither wanting to, they stood back to back, as close as possible, since seeing one another was not an option anymore.

As expected, when Xue Yang appeared next, it was unexpected and unannounced. But it was different than what they anticipated.

He appeared in the form on maniacal laughter. It was everywhere and Song Anyue soon noticed why the man did that: now she couldn't hear, nor see the man behind her.

Suddenly, she wasn't so sure who's back was against hers. She held her fan tighter and reached behind herself, as she raised her fingers to her nose, she once again smelled the iron.

She immediately jumped away, she couldn't be sure if the blood was hers, but she was not about to risk Xue Yang coming from the one place she deemed as safe. When she did that, the laughter suddenly stopped. And Song Anyue felt cold steel on her neck and stomach.

"I got you know," Xue Yang  whispered in her ear, "and all that talk about me being dead... you're even weaker than I thought you were. An absolute zero. Honestly, what is senior Wei doing with a disciple like you..."

"Xue Yang!"

"Ah, here he comes, should I let him watch me kill his little student, huh? Do you think he would even care for you?" mumbled Xue Yang his poisonous words. Song Anyue felt like he was right in some areas... but she wouldn't let him know that.

"Xue Yang! Why do you want us to fix Xiao Xingchen's spiritual essence? Are you guilty perhaps?" it was Wei Wuxian who came.

Song Anyue didn't know when it happened, but he did come.

"Not at all, I just want him to suffer. He wanted to help people? I want him to kill people! That's all," laughed the maniac.

As he said that, the fog lifted slightly, revealing a focused Lan Wangji and the position Song Anyue was in, she was eerily calm for someone who was about to get their throat sliced.

"Let her go," frowned Wei Wuxian.

"Nu-u-uh," smirked Xue Yang, "you'll tell your friend in white to throw his weapon away and get him to promise to leave forever... or I'll slice her throat right now."
