The disciples inside immediately stepped away from the door and barricaded windows. Unlike Wei Wuxian and his disciples, who almost excitedly jumped up and looked outside through the cracks.
The image they saw was nothing unusual for any of them. After all they were demonic cultivators and corpses and ghosts of all kinds were a daily for them (in the past at least).
They saw the same street that they came from, abandoned houses and a dirty road, but now there was a girl walking on the road. She was clearly looking for something, or someone. She had long black hair tied in a messy bun and a simple white dress, she was holding a bamboo pole, which was unsurprising, given the sound that announced her presence. She walked a little bit from them and suddenly turned around. The three people watching didn't even flinch at the sight. The girl had dried blood dripping down her mouth and clothes, her big blind eyes bore to the souls of the onlookers. She tapped her pole a few times, than she swiftly came to stand in front of window, where Wei Wuxian looked. He inclined his head to the side for a second, before chuckling and commenting: "Beautiful. Truly gorgeous, wouldn't you say?"
Song Anyue almost burst out laughing, but she played along expertly: "It really does look great. So pretty."
She made a little sigh after that, to signal that whatever they saw was probably prettier than her. Wan Yunque thought a little bit, but decided to join the fun.
"It definitely is much prettier than A-Yu, a true masterpiece," she smirked and Song Anyue hit her head non-comically.
Since all of them talked about the gorgeous thing, Jin Ling couldn't take it anymore. Unluckily, he chose to push Wei Wuxian away (which was an obvious choice given, that he was extra wary of the Hongmanbu and Wuye-ge) and took his place. Both girls snickered in silence as his face paled and he almost immediately sprinted away. By some sheer magic, he managed to calm down and gathered himself enough to step away slowly.
"How was it? Beautiful, am I right?" smirked Wei Wuxian.
Jin Ling gave him a hateful glare in return, not forgetting to also frown at the little hole he looked through and the two grinning ladies who both stood close to it, occasionally looking outside as if the sight was really a gorgeous scenery and not a scary ghost.
"Yes, really pretty," stiffly said Jin Ling, when he was done glaring, tho the frown stayed on his face and it did not escape Song Anyue, that his gaze once again lightly ghosted over Fox's unconscious form. She is gonna have to ask the demon later.
But now, there was Lan Sizhui, whose curiosity got the better of him and he took a look through the little crack. The second he did so, he immediately jumped away with widened eyes and a terrified expression on his face.
"T-the-there is-" he tried to get out as he looked for help between Wei Wuxian and Wan Yunque.
"Aya, calm down Sizhui, you're gonna spoil the surprise," winked the man and than he turned to the rest: "so, who's next?"
He chuckled, positively amused, when everyone made a step back, except for Lan Jingyi who stood next to Sizhui, however he didn't have any intention of looking outside whatsoever.
"Weaklings," smirked Song Anyue.
"Ts, we're not!" opposed Jin Ling, "even in this situation, you're making jokes, childish!"
"Oh yeah, remind me again who it was, that also joined in," mocked him Wan Yunque (just a little bit tho). Their quarrel had to be stopped by an outside force, in this case Wei Wuxian.
"Alright, Sizhui was it scary?" he asked a beat later and the Lan quickly nodded.
"Than take another look," nudged him Wei Wuxian.
