"Senior Mo? Where is he when we need him?" asked Wan Yunque, who she was referring to was clearer than... the sun on a bright summer day (because currently, there really wasn't much brightness around, except for the blinding fog...)

"He'll be here soon," chuckled Wei Wuxian.

Meanwhile, Song Anyue and Fox were pushed to a different side of this non coordinated crowd.

"People! You're endangering yourselves, could you try not to stomp all over the place!?" shouted the girl, when someone pushed her again and she was pressed between two unknown disciples.

"Pffft, never thought the "Hongmanbu" will have a problem in a crowd," laughed Lan Jingyi and pulled her to the outer side.

"You can joke even with corpses all aroud? Respect," shrugged Song Anyue, "and I have a name, I even told you what it is! Use it."

"Sorry," rolled the Lan his eyes and readied his sword, the fastest corpses were already at fighting range.

"No feelings harmed," chuckled Song Anyue and lighning fast whipped out her fan, striking the first corpse, taking the kill from her Lan friend.

"Ooooh! Fun!" smirked Fox, who was somehow still nearby and slashed at a different corpse. Surprisingly, these were super easy to take care of. A single slash and they fell like cards. But in their place, there was a strange powdery substance.

"Don't inhale it!" warned Song Anyue and raised her hand to protect herself, but she was too late, Lan Jingyi already got a mouthful of the powder. He immediately started to cough and slightly bent over.

"Disgusting," he commented, when he managed to calm his coughs.

"Told you to be careful," shook Song Anyue her head.

"Senior Mo! Where is the boring guy! We could use his help!" she shouted immediately after.

"Don't call Hanguang-jun a "boring guy"! It's so disrespectful," criticized Lan Jingyi and despite having another coughing session coming, he stabbed a corpse that was trying to sneak up on Song Anyue.

"He's boring tho," she shrugged and quickly exchanged places with Fox to be more efficient.
"You two work suspiciously well together," commented the Lan.

"Oh please, I do all the work," rolled Fox his eyes, "hm... this powder isn't that bad..."

"Don't inhale it on purpose! We just managed to get you out of the amulets control!" said Song Anyue, exasperatedly and killed a few other corpses.
They would probably continue in their strange conversation in the middle of this battle, when suddenly, notes from the qin sounded around and the left over corpses dissolved into dust.

"Finally, took him long enough," rolled Song Anyue her eyes and returned her fan to its previous hiding spot, "always so fast to save his "sweetheart"..."
Fox burst out laughing while nobody else understood and the situation went from dire to uncomfortable.

"You can't quote fan-fiction in broad daylight!" wheezed Fox and after that he got a flute to the back of his neck.

"Ow..." mumbled the demon, but he continued chuckling.

"This is no situation to be taken lightly," shook Wei Wuxian his head. When did he move to their side?

"Mn," and of course he had Lan Wangji in his tow, how else?

"We should get out of here, the powder is definitely poisonous," quickly told them Wan Yunque, who appeared miraculously out of nowhere as it seemed and the group sprinted off with Wei Wuxian and his disciples in the front - and Fox, since he was the only person who could see. They didn't get far, when Fox suddenly stopped them.
