Author's note:
So I feel like I should explain something now: In the reality of this fanfic, the whole Yin Iron thing happened, but I moved the events of Chang clan to the 13 year gap. Which you probably guessed already, but I just wanted to clarify, enjoy the chapter! And PS.: WWX met Xue Yang once before, when he was courting Wan Yunque. Song Anyue and Fox met him more times and both want to forget.
The next day, Wei Wuxian decided it was time to take a little break. Especially since the ladies took till 11:00 before they could be woken up at least a little bit. And since they got out of bed by lunch time, most of the day was wasted already.
They had a small lunch and decided to visit the market. It was not a big place, but they did have some interesting things. They especially spent extra long time at a mask stool. The demonic cultivators just had to try on every single one of them and of course it was necessary to rate them according to "scary", "pretty" and "material". The poor man behind the stool was gaping at them the entire time. Thankfully, Lan Wangji had a bit of tact, so to be sure the salesman wasn't going to spontaneously combust because of the three, he bought one especially pretty red and black mask with golden lines. Wan Yunque was the biggest fan of this one, so she got to keep it.
Another big stop had to be a stool with calligraphy supplies. But they didn't buy anything here, because someone else purchased the "only thing worth buying" (according to Song Anyue) before they could.
They also made a stop at the fruit stall. And altho Fox made a huge scene, because he wanted red apples and there were only green apples, they managed to keep out of fights.By the time evening came, they were once again safely resting in the inn from before. Since today didn't bring any new light and nothing too interesting happened, Wan Yunque decided not to write another letter. She also didn't want to seem like she's somehow desperate for attention with so many letters... and and and! There were many ands, since thinking of the reasons why she isn't writing letters was what she was doing instead of writing them. Looks like procrastination isn't only a today's thing, huh?
While Wan Yunque was busy trying to come up with as many reasons why she shouldn't/can't write a letter, Song Anyue was positively bored. She wanted to paint something, but that would inevitably mean making drawings of the people she knew and there was a good chance of her mind making up something undesirable. She also wanted to write fanfiction, but for that she would need Fox and Fox was still trying to find red apples somewhere.
Despite not trusting her own tired brain, Song Anyue soon picked up a brush and started something. She wasn't thinking much about what was going on on the paper, because her thoughts quickly took a different turn.Unlike Wan Yunque, who was currently enjoying thinking about sword flying with someone that would be surprising to no body than payed attention, Song Anyue's brain decided that it was a good idea to think about her childhood. And her uncle of all people.
•flash back•
The forests around Baixue Temple were always healthy and a great place for children to play in. Many disciples, who didn't have any training at the moment, spent their time there. But now it was a rather cold autumn day and most of them were hidden in the warmth provided inside. Most however did not include a young red haired girl in black robes. She had big eyes the color of greenish grey, which could be best described as the color of a foggy forest. Just like the one she was currently running through. She looked angry and pissed. Altho she couldn't have been more than 9 years old, she was already arguing with people.
Just about half an hour ago, she had an ugly argument with her uncle."You let a DEMON escape!? Not only that, you even helped it!? And you got yourself a curse-mark like that!? Song Daiyu what do you have to say for yourself!"
