The next morning, they were rudely woken up by none other than Wei Wuxian. It wasn't exactly early, but the fact that both girls went to sleep after midnight, with Song Anyue falling asleep somewhen after 4:00, was an important factor. And this factor proved to be fatal, as 8:00 in the morning was too early to properly function for both of them. Wei Wuxian got many laughs from them trying their best to do... well anything... and failing miserably. Especially in the clothing department - "for the love of all the gods above! How did you manage to put all of your clothes on backwards! Also, why does A-Lu have pigtails...?" *fell to the ground from laughter*
But other than that, the morning was rather smooth. They managed to get some good breakfast and on their way to the saber hall, Song Anyue managed to trip over her feet only twice. Which is more than surprising, considering her bad mood and the fact that she still had a brush stuck in her hair. God knows how that got there.
When they arrived at the Nie ancestral hall, someone was already inside. At first, they thought it was some grave robbers, so they hid on their way in, but soon they relaxed, as the familiar voice of Nie Huaisang echoed through the building.
"Careful! Careful!" he was shouting, Song Anyue could easily imagine him waving his fan around at that moment and laughed internally.
"Good morning Nie-xiong!" she jumped out of her hiding spot and went up to greet him.
"Song-mei*!" greeted Nie Huaisang with a smile and waved his fan at her, his smile faltered however, as the others also revealed themselves.
"Sect leader Nie," smirked Wei Wuxian, "I see you are repairing the wall?"
Nie Huaisang nodded hesitantly, watching Wei Wuxian's every move.
"I am terribly sorry," smiled the man in courtesy, that was only half fake, "you will probably have to repair it later..."
"Okay, okay, ok- wait, what?!" Nie Huaisang grew shocked, as Lan Wangji sliced the wall open once again.
"Um... A-Lu? Fill me in?" asked Song Anyue, as Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji were too busy pulling out dead bodies and Nie Huaisang was trying to stop them/argue with them.
"Well, you probably didn't notice, but master Wei got a curse mark from Jin Ling yesterday," started Wan Yunque in a whisper.
"I did notice... I'm not that terrible... but go on," Song Anyue felt the need to defend herself. Truth be told, she didn't exactly notice it completely, she did notice that something was wrong, but Nie Huaisang told her about the curse mark (how did he know, well... let's say that he's got a few tricks up his sleeve).
Wan Yunque only rolled her eyes at that and continued: "Anyway, when you were out being all buddy-buddy with Nie Huaisang, the sword spirit reacted to it - I had to help calm it. So we are guessing that whatever activated it must be in the wall..."
Song Anyue nodded in understanding. By this time, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji seemed to be happy with destroying the Nie ansestral hall and Wei Wuxian called his students over:
"Take a look, which one is it? ...hmmm... A-Yu!"Song Anyue mumbled something incoherent as she sat next to the bodies/skeletons/partial skeletons and examined each one.
"None," she answered after a while.
"That can't be true..." shook Wei Wuxian his head and crouched down next to her. He checked himself and confusion appeared on his face, "well, you are correct... it really isn't any of them..."
"Than what could possibly..."
"The sabers," suddenly exclaimed Wan Yunque and pointed to the coffins.
