There was no need to answer, the window was clearly the only option. So it didn't take long and all of them were running outside, towards the woods. When Wei Wuxian deemed the spot as safe, Wan Yunque finally got a chance to catch her breath. She felt a bit bad, because her physical condition was clearly the worst.

"I really hope we won't have to repeat that any time soon," she said afterwards.
"For your sake," smirked Wei Wuxian.
"What are you still doing here, you have to run, if you don't want uncle to find you," scowled Jin Ling at them.

"Jin Ling," suddenly, Wei Wuxian grew all serious, "you know there are these two sentimental sentences, one has to learn to say in their life."
"What do you mean?" blinked Jin Ling.
"I mean: "thank you" and "sorry"," answered Wei Wuxian.
"Tsk! You saved me, I saved you, now we're even! Don't expect me to suddenly say things like that," Jin Ling crossed his arms and scowled at them.
"Jin Ling..." smiled Wei Wuxian quite sadly, but still looked more serious than in the last 15 minutes (which he spent teasing Wan Yunque about being too slow), "I'm sorry. Sorry, for what I said on the Dafan mountain. I didn't mean it."
"Huh?" once again, Jin Ling seemed genuinely surprised, probably not used to people reacting this way, "it's... fine. People say that a lot. And it is true... my mother died early... but that doesn't make me weak in any way! And I'll make sure you all see it!"
"Sure thing Kid," laughed Wan Yunque, "and thanks for getting us out of there."
"H-hey! Stop calling me that!" frowned Jin Ling.

"When you stop acting like a kid," smirked Wan Yunque nonchalantly and added, "Kid."
"H-!" it seemed like he wanted to say something again, but instead got punched by Wei Wuxian.

It was a quick move, which made Jin Ling lose consciousness for a short amount of time.
"Alright, curse-mark business!" mused Wan Yunque, "what do we do?"
"I'll transfer it to myself," replied Wei Wuxian, "we can't destroy it now..."
"You should transfer it to me in that case," argued Wan Yunque seriously and before Wei Wuxian could say something else, she added: "Unlike you, I still have a golden core. Not a good one, but it'll help me fight it off longer."
"There's no need for that," retorted Wei Wuxian, "we can get rid of it once we meet up with Lan Zhan. And you're the student here, so I gotta protect you, now don't I?"
"But-" Wan Yunque wanted to object, but was stopped by a hand on her mouth and a small smile from Wei Wuxian:
"Now, now, we need to be quick, no time for arguing. Alright, come and help me with this, what do we do first?"

"Well, expose the mark I suppose," shrugged Wan Yunque and she rolled up Jin Ling's trousers to check the curse mark. It did spread a little bit, which was concerning to some extent, but it did not reach his chest and didn't seem to be close to doing so any time soon, which was relieving.
"And now..." it didn't take long for Wei Wuxian to explain what needed to be done, Wan Yunque already did something similar before, it was mostly repetition for her.

"All done," she proclaimed, after all traces of the curse mark left the boy and the resent was successfully transferred to Wei Wuxian.
"Good job," praised the man and gave Wan Yunque a little head-pat, at which she giggled, amused by his behavior.
"I'm not seven anymore you know," Wan Yunque smiled, while she dressed Jin Ling all proper again.
"When you were seven, we didn't even know each other," replied Wei Wuxian.
"And despite that you always do that," noted Wan Yunque.

It was bout now, that their time ran out and Jin Ling decided to wake up.
"Hey! What'd you hit me for!" he frowned and quickly stood up.
"Uh..." Wan Yunque's brain was spiraling, thinking of a reply. Before she thought of something different, than "well there was a gigantic cursemark on your leg, so we removed it, you're welcome", Wei Wuxian decided to chime in.
"Uh... H-Hanguang-jun, it's not what you think..." he said, looking terrified into the trees behind Jin Ling.
"We're really sorry," played Wan Yunque along and hid behind the man.
"Y-you!" Jin Ling angrily pointed a finger at them and than he ran off.
