Chapter 17: The Pitiful Girl (Part 2)

Author's POV
You continued walking and from the corner of your eye, you could see Conan back away.

Conan hid behind the phone booth and tracked Misami-San's location. The red dot was moving places which made Conan's eyes widened.

'It's moving! Maybe Misami-san is still alive!' Conan thought

The dot started moving farther away from where it was and Conan started running towards it.

'The location is 4 km to the northwest..in Sjinjuku. That isn't very far. Hurry, I've got to get there on time!' He told himself, 'Okay, one more kilometer...I just need to turn the corner.'

Once after Conan turned the corner, he stopped in front of a building called, "Pachinko".

'A Pachinko Building?! Misami-San's here?!' He asked himself while panting from all the running. 'Oh no...the batteries are running out.'

He went inside the building and turned his head side to side looking for Misami.

'Hurry..I've got to find her quickly.' He told himself again, 'Not here, where is she?! Where could she be-'

Conan then felt himself falling down backwards to the tiled floor. He looked up to see a strange tall man looking down at him. He had an angry look on his face which made Conan shiver a bit.

"Tch...quit running around like that kid." The man said turning back the other way and walking off

Conan looked at the end of his glasses noticing that it ran out of power.

"Looks like some people lost their manners these days."

Conan heard a child-like voice say. He looked up seeing the owner of the voice was to his surprise you.

You were following him all this time. You lost him a couple of times but before he left you sneakily placed the small ring tracker to his tux pocket without him noticing.

Conan looked up at you since his was still sitting down on the floor. While you were staring at the man walking away.

"Right Conan-kun?" You asked tilting your head back, looking down at Conan

He blinked twice still confused at why you were here. He stood up and faced you.

"Did you follow me here?" Conan asked

"Eh, kinda." You replied as you walking to him

You pretended like you were gonna whisper something but actually, you were taking the ring out of his pocket. After you successfully took out the ring, you placed it back in your finger.

"W-what did you just do?" He asked

"Taking back what's mine." You said raising your hand up where the rings were

"Did you leave Ran-neesan and Oji-san?" He asked as I started getting annoyed

"You're asking too much questions. But yes, yes I did. Ran wouldn't stop sobbing and I kinda got annoyed by her so I just followed you." You said calmly

"You're becoming bold huh." Conan said making you raise a brow, "When you came, you were so quiet and looked timid. But now it looks like you were faking it."

You kept your poker face and kept cool as you spoke, "I wasn't faking it. I'm annoyed right now. Turning back into a little kid isn't fun you know."

"Just...help me find Misami-san." He said turning around and walking off

You followed behind and the both of you practically started running around the store. Eventually, a guy who worked there grabbed you and Conan by the back of the shirt and kicked you out of the store.
