(A/N: request as a pic. i have,,,,, had no idea how to write this because honestly?? age swaps are weird 4 me to write for some reason,,,, also the family terminology is so weird but hey! hope this is good enough!)

There was a secret that Tommy held close to his chest. Only the rest of the Sleepy Boys and Tubbo knew it, and for a good reason. If others knew... well, it certainly wouldn't end well for him, that was for sure.

His secret? He was a shapeshifter hybrid.

Now, normally that wouldn't sound like much to someone, until they remembered that 1) shapeshifter hybrids were immortal and 2) shapeshifter hybrids were powerful. Tommy recalled getting hunted for his species when he was younger, but he was older now, and he knew how to get out of hunters' grasps, and avoid them at any cost. Wandering the Earth by himself was lonely, but at least he wasn't running the risk of being sold out and kept as a pet. He would've broken out eventually, but it would've been painful. And annoying.

Somewhere along the way, he had managed to find himself saddled — willingly, despite his protests — with four boys; boys who he had gotten attached to, boys who would die and rot away while he would remain, boys who everyone seemed to think were older than him.

Not that he could blame them; Tommy's preferred form was a slightly taller version of his teenager self, and compared to Phil, Techno and Wilbur, he looked way younger than them. Tubbo was a different case, but everyone seemed to think they were around the same age, although they decided to go with Tommy being the youngest out of all of them.

The Dream SMP was a fresh change in sights for him; he had already spent a lot of time with Phil and Techno, teaching them some extra tricks that he knew, and following them in their adventures. He did actually care for them, and while they weren't as bad as the younger two, they could still be pretty adventurous and reckless when it came to it, so Tommy had to look after them for a while, while obviously making sure to send letters to Wilbur and Tubbo. The Dream SMP was a place where he could go and spend time with Wilbur and Tubbo, after having left them for so long. It was supposed to be a good vacation.

Then somehow, everything had spiralled out of control, and before Tommy even had a time to himself to properly think about everything, he had to pull Wilbur away from the brink of madness. That involved a conversation that was genuinely emotionally exhausting and lots of tears.

Now, obviously, as a good... figure for the boys who he cared for, he needed to set a good example. But then Wilbur had said something about pretending and 'sticking it to the man', and Tubbo and Techno were quick to agree, and then they sent off a message to Phil, who also agreed, and Tommy may be older than all of them by bounds, but... well, they deserved to learn how to take down their first true tyrant, especially in the cases of Wilbur and Tubbo.

So, for long, long months, they pretended. Tommy did his best to soothe everyone else's hurts; especially Fundy's, because goddamnit he was his technical great-grandson, and he really did need to have a conversation with Wilbur about good parenting and how to not drown in his own guilt at some point-

Although, maybe he should've told Fundy that he was technically his great-grandfather, but oh well. His technical great-grandson would know soon, anyways. Probably sometime right now, actually.

It happened so quickly. One moment, Dream had the sword swinging down on Tubbo's neck, and the next, Tommy was shoving him away. Dream may be good, but Tommy had taught Techno all that he knew, and he had more experience to go with it, so within moments, Dream was pinned, mask tossed away, an enemy defeated in front of most of the server that he wanted to subjugate and keep under his control.

Tommy laughed, shifting into something far more scarier, which was the form he used at the end of great battles — as much as he hated to admit it, Dream had been a rather crafty enemy to deal with — and grinned maniacally at the sheer terror on Dream's face.

"You fucked up, bitch."

Pretending was fun, but all fun had to end eventually.

Dream would rue the day he'd decided to make an enemy out of him, TommyInnit.
