minho found himself once again staring at his closet, not knowing what to wear. he was nervous. maybe even more nervous than he was at chan's birthday.

he had to hang out with just hyunjin and that scared him. it's not that he didn't trust the younger. he had no problem with him, they used to be best friends anyways. the only thing that terrified him was that chan wouldn't be with him so if something happened he wouldn't have chan to help him and make him feel safe.

"you can do this minho. don't let your stupid anxiety get in your way again." minho whispered to himself as he clenched his kangaroo toy in his arms.

he needed chan. he needed to see him. hear him. touch him. he just needed the older boy to reassure him that everything was gonna be okay.

and all of a sudden, minho's phone started ringing, making the boy tilt his head at the side in confusion.

who is it now?

minho slowly reached out for the ringing device which was currently laying on his nightstand but once he saw the number that was calling him, a wide smile appeared on his face.

the boy didn't even hesitate to pick up the call and immediately placed it on his ear, squealing internally in excitement.

"hi!" minho exclaimed a bit too cheerfully, making the person on the other line chuckle.

"woah min! you sound happy!" chan said and minho giggled cutely.

"i am! i missed you a lot channie"

chan smiled softly. "i missed you too minnie. i'm sorry for being kinda distant these days but i'm working on something with bin and sung and i didn't have time to hang out with you."

"it's alright channie, i understand!"

the older boy just sighed. "still, i'm sorry." he mumbled and then let out a breath. "do you have any plans for today minnie?"

minho gulped. he didn't know whether he should tell him about him and hyunjin meeting, however he also didn't want to lie to him. so he just came up with a stupid excuse.

"uh actually, i'll probably be in the dance club the whole afternoon. there are some kids preparing for a competition and they needed me to help them practice."

chan gasped. "ooh min that's great! i bet they'll get the first place with you as their trainer. even if i have never seen you dancing, i know that you are amazing."

minho blushed deeply at his words, however he still couldn't get rid of the guilt he felt for deceiving chan. what would he do if the elder found out later? would chan think that minho didn't trust him anymore?

the younger boy gulped and tried to shake the thought away, deciding to focus on chan's tender voice instead.

"anyways, let's meet sometime this week! i wanna take you on a date again!"

minho smiled. "sure hyung! whenever you want! i'll be looking forward to it!"

chan giggled at minho's excited tone and the younger boy felt his ears blushing even more.

"i have to go now minnie but i'll text you later" minho frowned slightly but when he looked at the clock he almost gasped seeing that it was now 4:40pm and he only had 20 minutes to meet with the younger boy.

"i-i have to go too."

"okay minnie. let's talk after you come back!"

minho let out a sigh and hummed softly in reply. "okay channie. talk to you later then."

"bye minnie."

"bye hyung."

minho placed his phone back on the nightstand once the call had ended and looked back at the mirror, staring at his reflection blankly. he still hadn't decided what to wear but he didn't have much time left so he grabbed the first hoodie he found and his black tight jeans which were laying on his bed.

the dark haired male was definitely more confident now after talking to chan but he still felt a bit scared. he hadn't been alone with anyone else than chan in ages and even if hyunjin used to be really close with him, he couldn't help but think that the younger male would be disgusted at him after finding out what had happened in his life.

minho wasn't mentally prepared enough to talk about his messed up childhood and all these things he went through again but hyunjin would surely ask him and he didn't want to lie to him. he had to stay strong and if things became hard for him, he'd stop.

hyunjin will respect that. minho thought and grabbed his phone and keys from beside him, heading towards the door, letting out a soft sigh from his lips.

you can do this min, he reassured himself for one last time before starting heading towards chan's house, where he'd meet with hyunjin.
