"minh-" chan was instantly interrupted by minho jumping on him the moment he opened the door. the younger boy wrapped himself around him like a koala and nuzzled his face in the crook of chan's neck, inhaling his sweet aroma.
chan got confused at minho's sudden clinginess but he wasted no time wrapping his arms around him as well and pulling him in a strong and affectionate hug.
"missed you." minho mumbled into chan's skin and the older male giggled as he placed him down.
"i missed you too minnie. shall we get in the house though? you're gonna catch a cold if you stay outside wearing only this thin hoodie."
minho whined at the loss of chan's warm arms around him but he agreed nonetheless, following the elder back in his house and closing the door behind him.
"your hair looks cute" chan suddenly said, playfully ruffling minho's hair. the younger slapped chan's hand away and huffed, a light blush spreading on his cheeks. he really hoped that the older man wouldn't notice his face changing color since the lighting wasn't that strong but chan saw it and teased him about it.
"let's just go in my room. i want cuddles." minho mumbled and dragged a laughing chan in his room. they both sat on the mattress and immediately wrapped their arms around each other, cuddling as close as possible to produce enough warmth for them to feel cozy.
they sat like that for a while, comfortable silence surrounding them, until chan decided to speak. "so min, what did you want to tell me?"
minho's brain paused for a second. he had completely forgotten about it but now that the elder brought it up, he couldn't pretend that he didn't remember it. it wasn't something that he hadn't already said before, those words had left his lips so many times in the past, especially when he was with chan. however, he couldn't help but feel insecure. these words had a different meaning now, they wouldn't feel the same as they did the other times he had uttered them.
their meaning was deeper, more genuine and pure. he meant them with every fiber of his body.
i love you. it wouldn't be that hard right? chan told him that he loved him all the time. but was it the kind of love minho felt? or was it something more brotherly, something friendly maybe.
of course they had also kissed before. but the first time was just a spontaneous decision chan made to shut minho up and the second one was a dare they were forced to do. they never kissed to show affection, love, emotions to each other. they never shared a genuine kiss.
the younger of the two had been silent for almost five minutes and chan's worry began increasing with every second passing, not knowing if what minho wanted to tell him was good or bad. there were various different scenarios passing by chan's mind but each one was even worse than the previous one. he really prayed that whatever minho wanted to tell him had nothing to do with all the thoughts chan had made.
"chan" minho finally found the courage and power to speak up, his eyes locked with chan's. they looked focused and serious, chan had barely ever seen this look on them before.
"what is it min?" chan gulped, his stomach doing a flip back in nervousness and fear.
minho sighed and hesitantly placed a trembling hand on the top of chan's bigger one, intertwining their fingers together before voicing his next words. "i-i love you."
chan froze but a big part of him melted in relief. his bad and negative thoughts faded away and got replaced by a sense of assurance and happiness. he felt like he was floating in an ocean full of positivity and safety, the words repeating in his ears again and again. minho loved him. he loved him. and this time, he didn't seem to just say it because chan had said it to him first. he said it like he genuinely meant it, in a less friendly way. his tone was hesitant and slow, leaving chan the conclusion that a deeper, more important emotion was hidden behind those three words. it was something more than what it used to be all the other times minho had uttered these words before.
and chan almost started crying because of it.
"i love you too minho." chan replied after a while, giving minho's hand a light squeeze before placing a tender peck on his knuckles. "i love you so much, you can't imagine how much you mean to me."
minho felt himself tearing up but he held his tears in, not wanting to get all sappy again. he was overwhelmed by a wide range of emotions and it felt too much for him to keep breathing steadily but he managed to pull himself together before speaking again. "c-can i k-kiss you? only if you want to! i'm sorry if this is too sudden but i-"
chan had enough of minho's rumbling so he did what he thought was the best for him to do. he shut him up with his lips, just like the first time they ever kissed.
minho instantly melted into the kiss, his eyes closing automatically and his hands finding their way around chan's neck, pulling him closer and closer to him. chan wrapped his own arms around minho's waist and soothingly began caressing his hips with his fingers.
their kiss was slow and soft at first, both males trying to convey their feelings to one another that were too indescribable to be voiced. however, their lips started moving more hungrily, their kiss now resembling the one they shared in that truth or dare game they had played last time. but they didn't care. they loved it nonetheless, it being sloppy and messy or soft and slow didn't really matter to them.
the only thing that mattered was that they were together, having confessed their love for each other officially and wrapped in one another's arms with their lips collided and tongues dancing around each other.
