Amelia's POV- February 2020
"Hey, you" I greeted.

A small sideways smile formed on Gavin's face as he approached me,

"Hey, nugget"

He pulled me into a tight hug before pulling away a bit to give me a quick kiss.

"Oh my," I said as I took one of his hands.

I grabbed the other hand and looked at him.

"I'm nervous"

His hands were a clammy mess.

"There's no need, they'll love you" I assured him as I squeezed his hands before letting them go.

He stared at me with wide eyes for a couple of seconds before clearing his throat. That was when I realized I had used the L-word.

"Uh, how was work?"

He placed the bag in the back seat before turning to me

"Midterm Prep" I answered.

He nodded,

"When are those?"

"My Advance Placement classes start tomorrow, and the rest on Monday" I replied.

He raised an eyebrow,

"Are you grading while you're in Arizona?"

I'd be in Arizona for the 3 day weekend next week.

"Perhaps" I responded slowly.

I smiled and winked as he began to pout.

"I kid, I should be done by then" I stated before walking around to get into the car.

I was greeted by a ringing phone when I opened the door.

"It's Dani"

I answered the call and put it on speaker before putting on my seatbelt.

"Hey" I greeted as I started the car.

"Are you on your way?"

I snorted,

"I'm in no way ready" I replied as I glanced at Gavin who was putting his seatbelt on.

"Have you at least picked up Gavin?"

"He's right here, I literally just picked him up" I mentioned.

"You're on speaker?"

Please don't say anything stupid,

"Yes," I confirmed.

"Oh! Hi, Gavin!"

He awkwardly replied,

"Hey, Dani"

Dani spoke up,

"Nervous?"

Gavin nervously laughed before admitting,

"Yes"

She replied back.

"There's no need, if Sass loves you then so do we!"

She gasped when she had realized what she had just revealed,

"Bye," I said before ending the call.

I glanced over at Gavin who was just staring straight ahead but was tugging on his hands. For a couple of minutes, neither Gavin nor I spoke. It wasn't until I was finally out of the airport and waiting for the street light to turn green that I looked at Gavin.

"Hey, what are you overthinking about?" I softly asked.

Just as he looked at me, the light turned green so I had to turn my attention to the road.
