Amelia's POV- November 2019
"You know"

I hummed as I ate my cobb salad. At the moment, Gavin and I were doing long-distance as he traveled to and from Wisconsin and LA preparing for the 2020 season. 

"I miss you"

I smiled and reached for my water canteen. 

"I miss you too" I replied after I had a gulp of water.

He cleared his throat as his cheeks flushed up,

"So uh, where's Missy?"

"English department meeting" I answered.

"Don't those happen after school?"

On Tuesdays that students were dismissed early.

"There's no early Tuesday dismissal this month," I told him.

"Oh, right. Thanksgiving break"

Correct.

"Is your department getting together?"

"There's an early dismissal the Friday before Thanksgiving Break" I informed him.

He nodded,

"So I booked my flight"

I smiled,

"Send me your flight info," I said.

His face disappeared as I received a call.

"Hey, can I call you back later?" I asked.

"Uh, yeah?"

I had been awaiting this call after Dani learned I was seeing someone. To be honest, I'm surprised she held this information for more than a month. I ended the call by answering this call.

"Hey" I greeted.

I was spoken over,

"What is this we're hearing about you seeing someone?"

Although I could not see Dani, I did hear her say,

"Sorry, Sass"

"It's fairly new" I noted.

"Doesn't matter. We discussed this Amelia, every potential suitor needs to be vetted by us"

"I never agreed to that" I stated.

Hilary waved me off as Emily and Amanda asked,

"So what's his name? Where's he from? How old is he?"

So big mouth hadn't spilled all the beans.

"His name is Gavin, he's from Kenosha, Wisconsin, and he is 21" I responded.

They gasped,

"Sass, he's a baby!"

He was almost 22!

"But we're moving past that. What does he do for a living?"

"He's a professional baseball player" I answered.

I bit the inside of my cheek as I heard humming come from their end.

"Speaking of professional athletes. Someone asked about you. It's how we found out you were seeing someone"

I raised an eyebrow.

"Hey may not play for the Penguins anymore, but I'm sure news will travel to him"

She continued,

"You do know he got traded, right?"

"Believe it or not, Hils. I don't keep up with his career" I replied.
