The weekend passed slowly, having been one of the worst weekends of my life. I kept my head low when my father spoke, and obeyed every word that left my mother's mouth. I discovered bruises and teeth marks in places they should've never been, and the feeling of Dave's hatred never eroded. It was now Monday and I was ready to start again. Forget I had ever met any of the guys or girls Hayden had introduced me to, and pay attention to school. I had my mom drop me off at the front of the school and I jumped out, pulling my jacket closer to my body, covering my neck and all other skin. I walked to Hayden's truck and opened the door, not daring to look him in the eye.

"Hey, what's-" I cut him off by giving him his hoodie and closing the door behind me, stepping away from the truck. He flicked his cigarette to the floor and stepped on it before running to my side.

"Hayden, I really don't think we should be friends anymore." I said quickly, pulling at my hair. His eyes looked not only shocked, but hurt at my statement as well.

"What?" He asked quietly, both of his blackened eyes staring deeply into mine.

"I'm sorry. I really am. I'm also incredibly thankful to you for all you've done for me, but I think I'd be best if we just went our separate ways." I sighed, looking down at my feet. He nodded and took a step back, chewing on his bottom lip.

"Whatever you say." He sighed, pushing past me roughly, a loud thud coming from my chest as his shoulder caught the center of it. I pulled on my hair as I began walking to the councilors office to once again get a tour to my classes. I was greeted by Dave standing before me, a lanyard around his neck.

"Ready?" He sighed, taking the paper from my hands. I nodded and pulled my hood on before beginning, keeping my head down as we began walking.

"If it makes you feel better, I had fun." He breathed, holding the door open as I walked through, a smirk growing across his smug face.

"Yeah. Sure." I sighed, not caring to even pretend that it didn't bother me. I adjusted my hood and walked to each class with Dave by my side, wanting nothing more than to crawl back into bed. He pulled his phone out, the lock screen a picture of him kissing a random blonde, clearly trying to get to me. I pulled out mine as well, the familiar picture of me and Ollie shining brightly back at me. Thinking now, the picture was years old, yet I had hardly changed. Ollie had.

"Who's that?" Dave asked, gesturing to the picture. I put my phone back in my pocket and shrugged, adjusting my sleeves.

"Don't worry about it." I mumbled, covering my palms. He sighed and nodded, showing me to my last class.

"I- Uh... I'll see you around. Right?" He asked, scratching the back of his neck. I scoffed loudly in disbelief, shaking my head no with a small laugh.

"Don't hold your breath." I spat, rolling my eyes. I shook my head, adjusting my bag.

"You can't just do that shit to me. You can't just be a total ass to me and then act like shit didn't happen. Don't fucking talk to me like nothing happened when you're the reason I'm constantly watching my fucking back. When we separate right now, I don't want to see you again. Got it?" I asked, fist balled. He looked at me in total disbelief, chewing on his bottom lip.

"You remember the first day you were with us? That asshole that gave you shit? Ask his friends why you haven't seen him around lately." He snapped, running his fingers through his hair, once again flashing his knuckles before placing his hands in his coat pocket. I shook my head and walked into first period, not caring to dress out and have everyone see my weekend written on my body.

"Y'know, that's not the best first impression to make." Coach Griffen stated, adjusting the glasses on the bridge of his nose. I only shook my head no, not caring to hear this, running my fingers under my jacket, feeling the teeth marks on my stomach.
