"The first day is always the worst. Just make it through today." My mother smiled, rubbing my back softly. I adjusted the beanie on my head, nodding slowly while looking to the entrance of the large campus, swallowing thickly and getting out slowly.

"Call me, okay? If you want to go home, let me know." She warmly smiled, nodding before pulling away from the curb. I already wanted to go home, but her and I both knew my father wouldn't let the two of us hear the end of it if I went home without going to a single class. No one knew about the hole in my head, the beanie perfectly covering the bald spot. No one gave me a second glance or even acknowledged my absence. No one other than the boys, each of them grinning from ear to ear as they watched me walk up, Hayden being the first to hug me, his grip making me groan slightly.

"Too tight." I wheezed and he quickly put me down.

"Don't you ever pull a stunt like that again, understood?" He asked firmly, hugging me tightly once more, my head nodding as I slightly gasped for air. He let me go and Brandon gave me a silent hug, smiling after before taking his place by Hayden's side.

"Dave not at school?" I asked, Hayden shrugging in response.

"Guess not." He breathed as I hugged Brandon Valdez, his beard rubbing against my cheek, making me laugh softly. He pulled away and I looked to Jacob for the same response but only earned a glare and a scoff in return before he shoved past me, not saying a word as he disappeared from sight.

"He has some personal shit." Brandon Valdez murmured before hurrying after his best friend, leaving myself, Hayden, and Brandon Hoover with nothing but silence between the three of us.

The bell chimed signaling the start of first and I made my way toward the boy's locker room, being yanked aside by someone taller than me, making me squeak. Before I could register who it was, their warm lips were on mine, moving slowly and delicately, the boy pulling back with a wide grin.

"David!" I smiled, whispering the small cheer while wrapping my arms around him tightly, enjoying the scent of him alone. He grinned widely and nodded, nudging my nose with his, being sure to keep our faces hidden as he did.

"I want you." He breathed, making me swallow hard.

"Not sexually." He chuckled, cupping my chin with his hand.

"I want you to be mine. I'm not ready for it to be fully public, but I want you. These past five days have been hell for me. I don't want to feel this way again." He breathed against my lips before beginning to slowly kiss me once more. My stomach fluttered harshly, my heart catching in my throat.

"Y-yes." I nearly gasped, nodding quickly, our noses brushing as I did, making him chuckle once again, his long lashes laying delicately against his cheeks as he bit his bottom lip.

"But I want something." I smirked, making him laugh and airy chuckle.

"Anything." He insisted, his lips gliding over mine slowly as the four-minute warning bell chimed.

"You can't have your blonde girlfriend anymore. We don't have to be public, but you can be publically single." I grinned, his arm resting on the wall above my head as he laughed.

"Still caught up on her, huh?" He asked, I nodded honestly in response.
"Deal. Me and her will be a thing of the past by time you make it to Contemporary Music." He grinned, making my heart leap.

"Good. Get to class." I smirked, placing one last kiss to his lips before pushing him away softly, only to be pulled back again, David now getting his turn to lead the kiss. He cupped the back of my neck as he slowly moved his lips, the warmth of his lips making mine nearly tingle, a wide grin settling on my lips.

"Alright." He smirked, his bottom lip pulled between his teeth as he pulled back, racing up the steps quickly, his thin legs taking them two at a time before becoming engulfed by the crowd of other students. I quickly rushed into the locker room, getting dressed before the final bell chimed, standing in the hallway outside of the locker room after as I waited for class to start.

The day lagged at an achingly slow pace, the only thing on my mind being Contemporary Music or lunch. The two periods I would be able to see David.

I entered Contemporary Music quietly with a smile plastered on my face, David patting the seat next to him for me to sit, my smile faltering slightly as his usual blonde companion took a seat next to him on the other side, pressing kisses to his skin which he returned happily, making my blood boil.

"Of course." I breathed, standing and making my way back to my usual seat next to Austin, Dave making a face before pulling the girl up and walking to a more secluded area of the room.

It wasn't long before she was crying, her cheeks streaked with black tears, making me scoff softly, laughing slightly as Dave returned with a bright red hand print on his face.

"What makes the red man red?" Austin began to sing under his breath, making howl with laughter.

"A strong slap to the face by a walking STD." Dave huffed in response, smirking while I began to laugh loudly once more, softly patting the chair next to me for Dave to sit. He sat and began to look Austin over, sizing him up to see if he was really any competition.

"Austin Duncan." He grinned, extending his hand to Dave, Dave shaking it softly.

"You made the beat we play as an intro to the football games, yeah?" He asked, Austin quickly nodding with a wide grin.

"Yeah! That's me. No one ever really notices me for that." He chuckled, Dave smirking and giving a small nod.

"It was good, man. Gets everyone pumped." Dave smiled once more, clapping Austin on the shoulder before looking over Austin's equipment.

"I'll leave you two be. Get your shit done." He smiled before standing, making his way to one of the supply closets in the front of the room, shutting the door and staying in the rokm for the remainder of the period, oddly enough, no one questioned it.

Lunch came surprisingly quick, my bag over my shoulder as I met with the group of boys, a small skip in my step at the sight of Dave, making my heart flutter. I took my place by his side, the boys teasing Dave for the mark on his cheek. My own eyes fell on the mark and I softly sighed, shrugging it off before looking over Dave's scabbed knuckles, my interest in the story behind them once again spiking my interest. Dave caught my wandering eyes and only grinned in response.

"Soon." He breathed, although I knew I didn't want the truth.

The truth only lead to more regret.
