I awkwardly sat in the passengers seat, keeping silent as he drove. I had no clue what to expect or where the hell I even was at this point. I picked at my nails, wishing I would've brought another one of the white pills to ease my mind and take away the nagging fear that was consuming my body.

"What's your name again?" He asked, raising a brow.

"I know we spoke at school and everything, but it's been a while. What was it?" He asked as we pulled to a stop.

"Andrew. Andrew Velasquez." I breathed, tipping my head back and looking out the window.

I was scared. I was losing my mind, and most importantly, I wasn't ready to see the truth.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked, gulping softly, now regretting getting in the car with a complete stranger. He pulled in front of an old rundown mossy green house and cut the engine. I hesitantly opened my door, thighs shaking softly as the dog in the yard began to growl and bark, jumping on the fence, teeth snapping roughly.

"Just stand close to me." Jacob breathed, adjusting his jeans and walking to the fence, opening the latch and making his way to the front door. Where's Bennett when you need him most?

His fist met the door several times loudly and an old woman with nearly completely grey hair opened it, adjusting the gold wire framed glasses on her nose before smiling warmly at Jacob.

"Jacob!" She grinned, opening the door more and spreading her arms widely to embrace him. He smiled back and stepped forward, his arms nearly squishing and breaking her body as he hugged her tightly.

"Hello, Mrs. Graham. This is my friend Andrew." He smiled, gesturing to me with a toothy grin. I nodded quickly, nearly leaping forward and grabbing her hand, shaking it lightly before dropping her pale hand softly.

"Is Ryan home?" Jacob asked, clearing his throat softly, fingers playing at the light colored hairs of his beard. She smiles and moved her hand over her heart, smiling softly.

"Go bless boys like you, Jacob." She whispered, voice sounding as if she was beginning to become choked up. She stood back and welcomed us in, the house smelling like nutmeg and vanilla.

"Stay by me." Jacob hissed, grabbing my wrist and pulling me through the house, down the small hallway and to the bedroom door at the end of the hall. The house was bigger than mine, but the hall was only built for one person at a time to be standing in it. Jacob inhaled deeply before twisting the old knob, pushing the door and exposing the dark room, the only light coming from the crack in the curtains.

I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm actually fucking terrified. I want my mom.

"Ryan?" Jacob called, stepping in slowly flicking on the light switch. The sight before my eyes caused me to gasp loudly, hand clapping over my mouth and eyes wide with fear. The boy sat in a blue wheelchair, fingers in his mouth, one eye stitched shut, stitches spanning from the top right corner of his forehead to the center of his left cheek. I felt my eyes well with tears and I shook my head no, not wanting to see it.

"I want to go home. Now." I snapped, shaking my head no before stumbling over my own feet in an attempt to get out of the room. Ryan began thrusting his body backwards against the chair, yelling loudly, scaring me even more. Jacob shut the door, eyes turning to slits before yanking me to my feet.

"I'm doing this to help you." He breathed, fingers surly bruising my skin. I gulped loudly, nodding as my knees began to rack.

"W-what's wrong with him?" My words came out in a breath, wavering as my fingers twitched.
