I didn't die.
When the gun went off, I thought it was over. That I was done with. My body hit the floor, and blood pooled on the carpet. My eyes managed to stay open for a few moments, then it went black.
I saw Ollie.
He was smiling, laughing. We were playing tag and I couldn't keep up with him. I hit the dirt and my knees began to bleed. I couldn't feel the pain and got up, now chasing him for answers.
"C'mon, Andrew." He grinned, the lights suddenly magnifying as he ran toward an open field, his arms sprawled out as he inhaled deeply.
He was happy.
This was the Ollie I remembered. He lead me to a tree, smiling and nodding as he pulled my hand. The tree sat on a large hill, a single branch extended far out above a large drop. On the branch was a single noose, Ollie smiling whilst pulling me toward the branch, extending his hand and grabbing the noose, placing it around my neck like a ceremonial necklace, and tightening it slightly.
"C'mon. Jump." He smiled, the sunny sky suddenly turning dark grey. I stepped to the edge of the drop, swallowing thickly and taking a deep breath, stopping as a familiar voice boomed from the sky.
"Andrew." It sounded like a crack of thunder and I stopped, Ollie frowning and grabbing my face.
"No. C'mon. Remember? Jump." He insisted, Dave's voice making me stop again.
"Andrew, please." He was now begging, rain falling from the sky in fat droplets. Ollie hissed, pulling the noose from my neck and putting it around his.
"Fine." He hissed, jumping from the drop, disappearing from my sight as the weather worsened, the rain falling harder and harder until I woke up, gasping loudly.
I was in a white room.
After blinking several times, I realized it was a hospital room, the blanket tucked around me softly. My head ached and I touched at the bandage that was wrapped around it, shaking my head no as I realized what had happened.
I lived.
A nurse came in slowly, smiling sadly at me as if I was a sad sight.
"Can you tell me your name?" She asked softly and I sighed.
"Andrew. Andrew Velasquez." I stated drily, looking to the window that showed outside my room. I was high above the ground and the rain came down harshly, spraying the window as thunder cracked and lightning flashed across the sky. She wrote down my response and quietly began taking my vitals, writing down every number before looking over me sadly again.
"Your bother is here." She nodded, making my heart lurch.
Ollie came for you.
I straightened myself up in the bed, grinning as widely as humanly possible, smile dropping as Dave walked in, thanking her before closing the blinds and locking the door, quickly coming to my side and kissing my face time and time again.
"What the fuck were you doing?" He whispered, my anger peaking slightly.
"Killing myself?" I asked, Dave rolling his eyes at the statement.
"You didn't think to talk to me, or any of your friends first?" He asked, almost accusingly. I only scoffed in return.
"Why would I?" I asked.
"I don't have friends. You have friends. They just laugh at me and feel bad for me. As for you, why would I talk to you? I'm just a jealous bitch, right?" I asked, silently praying I would piss him off just enough to get him to suffocate me. His eyes only filled with pain, nodding slowly as he looked me over.
