"Can you stop doing that it's driving me crazy!" Stephan complained.

I quickly dropped the keys I was holding, that were the source of the excessive noise and apologized.
"I am sorry, I am extremely nervous."

The car became quiet again. Neither me nor Elena, Caroline or Stephan had anything to say. All of us were scared for tonight. I just couldn't control it in compare to others. For the rest of them it was only a matter of things just getting done. An annoying thing they had to go through to get their friends back.
But for me it was more. Yes, I wanted to get Bonnie and Damon more than anything but as the merge got closer the possibility of losing Kai became more real. I couldn't exactly explain how I felt.
Besides all the shit he had done I couldn't let go of him and how he made me feel. The excitement that was taking over me whenever we were together. His intelligence and annoying humor.
His softer side that I knew he had.
There was so much potential in him and I couldn't bare the thought of not being there to witness it.

I glanced outside the window and realized we were there.
It was outside our old High School. That's were Luke said they had agreed to meet.

We walked outside the car cautiously and looked around. The place seemed quiet. No one was around.

"Are we sure Luke didn't lie?" Caroline asked, glancing around her.

"He wouldn't lie. He wants this too." Elena murmured her eyes fixed on the football field.
Her pupils widened a bit and she pointed a finger at where she was looking.
"There I see them."

I quickly turned my gaze where she was showing.
Indeed I could make out two silhouettes but with my human vision I couldn't understand who they were.

"Common let's hide." Stephan said quietly motioning us to the back of the row of sits.

My heartbeat was beating so loud I thought it would jumb out of my mouth.

The two figures held hands and in the quiet I could hear faint chantings, only meaning the ceremony had begun.

Α crunching noise, like footsteps on leaves made all of us turn around.

"Has it begun? Am I too late?" Liv asked her voice breaking.

She wasn't looking at any of us but Kai and Luke in front of her with tears in her eyes. Beside her there was Josie, looking pale as milk.

"Liv calm down, everything is going to be okay." Stephan tried to get closer to Liv.

"How could you not tell me? How could you let him do this." Liv snapped at me.

I tried to say something but with Liv's devastated and betrayed face nothing looked appropriate at the moment.

"Josie what the fuck?" Stephan snarled.

Josie looked just as lost as me if not more. Her eyes never left the sight of Luke and Kai.

"Don't you dare bring my sister into this." Liv's tone turned from sad to angry very quickly.

"Liv I am not doing this with you right now. This is something that needs to be done." Stephan towered over Liv trying to block her view so he could distract her.

"Fuck you! None of you had the right to interfere! He is my brother! " She started yelling and pushing Stephan.

"Calm down! " He yelled back.

"Both of you shut up! Look." Caroline jumped in silencing Liv and Stephan who stopped and looked back.

My gaze turned to where everyone was looking.
Both Kai and Luke had dropped to the ground and neither one was moving.
