Damon and I had managed to carry Bonnie back to the mansion.
She was still unconscious and that made me even more anxious.
Kai was following us the whole way, refusing to leave us alone.
Something told me he wouldn't leave us,in general. Not until we helped him escape. Something also told me it would be a bad idea.

Bonnie was now laying on the couch on the Salvatore mansion, she wasn't moving but thankfully she was still breathing.

I stared down at her, breathing threw my nose trying to calm myself down.
It was he fault.

I suddenly turned and slapped Kai across the face, who was standing a few feet away from me.

He seemed surprised but not angry. At least not at first. His jaw clenched and I could see a vein popping on his neck.

I took a few steps back.

"You shouldn't do that ever again. I am known for having a short temper. " Kai told me and winked.

"Will you enlighten us about how you ended up here? " Damon said without taking his eyes off Bonnie.

Kai looked around like he was trying to find something.
"Aha!" He picked the newspaper from the table and gave it to me.

My eyes fell on the top news.
It said "Family Massacre". There were some photos of children.
I read the article and the longer I read the bigger became the frown on my face.

I looked up from the newspaper to Kai who was looking at me. Waiting for my reaction.

I stared at his beautiful blue eyes, first time noticing how handsome he was.
"You murdered your family?" I managed to say at last.

"Well not all of them. I tried but they managed to stop me and send me here. " He gestured around us.

"You are crazy... You are crazy to think we will take you with us. " I tossed the paper back at him.

He catched it quickly with his hand and grinned at me.
"Now Jenn I think you'll see I am not that bad company. I just need you to get me out of here and then you won't have to see me again. " He shrugged and walked over to take a better look at Bonnie.

He stretched a hand and caressed her cheek.
Bonnie's eyes flattered open. She blinked a few times to adjust her eyes and she gasped when she spotted Kai beside her.

I rushed to her side.
"Bonnie? You are okay?" My voice was soft and full with concern for my best friend. I loved Caroline and my older sister but Bonnie was my best friend and I didn't know what I would do if something happened to her.

She smiled a little at the sight of me.
"I am okay. " She assured me. Her eyes found mine and then she shifted her gaze at Kai.

"I won't take you with us. " She stated, getting to her feet.

Kai chuckled and shook his head.

"We live now. Without you. " With that she grabbed my hand and Damon's and dragged us out of the house.

Once we were outside she closed her eyes and started whispering. A shield, I thought.
I looked at my best friend and smiled. Clever Bonnie.

She stopped whispering and stared at the house suspiciously.
"We have to hurry...." She said, still looking at the house.

"The hurry Bon!" Damon hissed. For the first time in a while he seemed... scared.
I couldn't blame him.

Bonnie grabbed both ours hands and stared chanting.

Just when I could feel something happening two strong arms grabbed me. One took a hold of my neck and the other  twisted around my waist, pulling me away from the circle.
A light appeared and Bonnie and Damon disappeared. Leaving me behind with Kai.

He released my throat and I felt to the ground, trying to breath.
"No, no, no, no..... " I whispered under my breath.

Kai looked down at me, his eyes empty.
"They'll come back for you. Eventually. "

Just the sound of his voice infuriated me. I got to my feet and started punching his chest as hard as I could.
He watched me amused trying to suppress a laugh. Of course this triggered me even more and I ended up punching his face.
A loud slap echoed at the empty garden.

His eyes became empty again and his lips turned into a thin line. I could tell he was trying to hold himself.
I took a few steps back realizing slapping a mass murderer wasn't the best idea.

My throat suddenly went sore. Kai didn't have magic on his own but he could still easily overpower me.
We stared at each other for a few seconds until I decided to walk back to the house. I didn't have a choice but to wait, which I hated because that left me doing nothing and being useless.
I tried to walk past Kai but he grabbed my arm and turned me around to face him.
My face was inches away from his, so close I could feel his breath on my cheek.
The grip on my hand was not too hard but it was still firm.

Kai's eyes found mine and then he slowly let his eyes fall on my lips.
"You have already slapped me twice and I would advise you to stop now. You don't want to make the sociopath angry. "

I tried to keep myself calm. I stared at him, his gaze still rest on lips.
"Let me go. " I said, in a more soft voice than I wished.
He waited a second and then let my arm fall.

I immediately put a distance between us.

I decided to go back to the house and stay away from Kai as much as I could.
Soon enough I heard footsteps behind me, meaning the siphoner didn't want to leave me alone.

"You will leave me alooooone? " Kai yelled dragging the last word.

I turned on my hills and crossed my arms over my chest.
"How did you leave the house? Bonnie placed a spell. " I asked.

Kai rolled his eyes and mimicking me he crossed his arms too.
"Because I am a siphoner I consume magic, Jennifer. And last time I checked a spell is magic. "

"And what is your grand plan? You will wait until the come and then you think they will magically help you to escape?"
That's if they'll come for me... The thought of spending more time with the sociopathic witch scared me but I wouldn't want to see Kai running around free.

Kai tilted his head like I was a science project and he was interested in me.
"They will take me with you unless they want me to kill you." He walked over to where I was and he grabbed my throat.
"You will be with me at all times, until they decide to come again and then they will either take me with them or see your pretty little neck snap"

My eyes widened at the coldness in his voice and the realization that he would gladly go through with this plan. It wasn't just empty threats.

He released my throat and I gasped for air.
I massaged my abused throat and glared at Kai while he walked to the kitchen, beginning cooking.

I needed a plan.
