Losing Your Memory ° Kai Parker

Chapter 3

We ate in silence, mostly because whatever I said or asked would reveal me something more about Kai and I had the feeling I didn't want that information.
Everything about him made me unease. The way he spoke, the way his eyes lingered on me longer than I was comfortable with.
I stared at the plate of pasta in front of me. On a different occasion I would be so happy to eat something else besides Damon's pancakes but the thought that I was here eating with a sociopath killed my appetite.

Kai looked up from his plate and frowned.
"You barely ate anything Jenn. " He observed while taking a huge bite.

"Yeah the thought of eating something you prepared makes me feel kinda nauseated. " I smiled sarcastically.

He chuckled.
"You are so uptight. Your friends will come and get you and you will be free from me. No point in starving yourself until that happens. "

I raised an eyebrow
"Yeah it's not like you threatened to kill me if they didn't comply. " I picked my fork and ate a bite. I would never admit to him but his cooking was great.

He set his fork down as he finished and once again titled his head.
"It's not like they are going to let you die, aren't they. Though if they try to trick me I will have to follow through my plan. "
His voice was casual but again told me he wasn't just messing around.

He got up from his sit and put the empty dish away.

I kept eating, not feeling like replying until I felt him hovering over me.

I looked up from my plate and stared at him. My heart slightly skipping a beat
"What? "

Kai kneeled in front of me, outstretched a hand and brought his thumb close to my lips, wiping some sause that I didn't know it was there.
He brought his thumb to his mouth and licked it clean.

I had to stop myself from opening my mouth in surprise. My heart started beating faster and of course Kai being the psychopath that he is picked on that pretty quick.

"Am I making you nervous, sweetheart? " He gave me a half smile. "Is it because I am drop dead gorgeous or because I am capable of snapping your pretty little neck if I want to? "

My throat became too dry and the words died in my mouth, not really knowing what to say because honestly both statements were true.
Not that I would ever admit that.

"Here's the thing. " Kai continued when he saw I wouldn't say anything. " I doubt I will have to kill you because your friends wouldn't risk that. So you can relax for now."

"How do I know you won't murder us once we get you out of here? And what exactly is your plan, once you get out of here? " I found the courage to ask the question I was dreading the most.

"I will find my family and have a little talk. My priority is finding my twin sister and merge with her, as we were supposed to do before they sent me here." Kai was still kneeling in front of me and once again I felt too uncomfortable with the little space I had.

"Merge? " So he is saying he will murder again.

"The Gemini coven, has a very weird ceremony thing. The two twins merge and the strongest absorves the power of the other twin and become the Gemini leader. " He explained.

"So the other twin dies? And what makes you so sure you are going to be the one to win? " I didn't know much about Kai but he seemed very full of himself and I supposed he had a good reason.

Kai laughed and placed a hand over his heart.
"Jenn you hurt me! Have a little faith in me. " He winked

"Can I please leave? " I said quietly.

He was still kneeling in front of me. He stared at me and placed a hand over my thigh.
I flinched at the warm feeling of his hand on my thigh.

He noticed and chuckled.
"Relax sweetie."

"Let me go and I will relax. " I stated.

He withdrew his hand letting it slide over my thigh.
"We should get along as long as we stay here together, don't you think? " He got to his feet and I immediately got up too.

"That involves you touching me and cleaning the sause off my face? " I pressed my lips together from stopping myself to say anything else that might trigger me.

"I thought you liked it." He crossed his hands over his chest.

"I don't... I don't know what you are trying to achieve but it won't work.Not with me. " I indeed didn't know what Kai wanted to achieve by being sexual.

"Oh don't be like that Jenn. " He rolled his eyes. " I've been here for 18 years, I just missed human touch that's all." He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.

I narrowed my eyes at him not believing a word he was saying. I sighed and walked towards the stairs. I needed to sleep this off.

"Where do you think you are going? " Kai called from behind me.

"I want to sleep! " I grunted. Did this guy ever shut up.

"Good. I could use some sleep too. " He catched up to me and followed me up the stairs and inside one of the Salvatore's bedrooms.

There was no way....

"You aren't sleeping on the same bed Kai. " I stated.

"Didn't you just hear me saying I won't leave you out of my sight? " He ignored my glaring stare and took of his sweater. He was left with a tight white T-shirt that I didn't want to admit made me feel a way.

I realized I was staring and Kai noticed too.
" I doubt you mind, judging from your glued eyes on my body. If you want I can take this off. " He started taking his T-shirt off, revealing a smooth and toned stomach.

I raised my hand to stop him.
"Put that back on! " I couldn't control the blush that rised on my cheeks.

He let the shirt fall back and climbed in the bed.
"Come Jenn. I don't bite... well not unless you want me to. "

I hated the arrogance of this guy. He can't possibly think that I am going to sleep beside him like he was my boyfriend!

"I won't sleep beside you Kai. You can sleep on the next bedroom if you think you can't trust me. " I crossed my hands over my chest. Determined to have my way with this.

"Can I trust you?" He asked.

I opened my mouth to say yes but we both knew that was a lie and I would escape if I could. I closed my mouth and looked away embarrassed.

"That's what I thought. Now come sleep. I really won't do anything. We are just going to sleep. Unless you want to do something else in which ca-"

"Oh shut up already. " I stopped him and got into the bed as far away as I could.

"Goodnight Jenny! " He said happily and that's the last thing I remember before drifting to sleep.
