"Okay is everyone ready?" Kai asked, rubbing his hands together in anticipation.
It was actually the first time Kai had the chance to use his powers in full capacity after the merge.
He felt strong and confident in terms of his physical abilities.
There was, however, an annoying thought in the back of his mind, nudging him. Kai never felt remorse or guilt about the things he did. He always told himself he did what he had to do to survive.
Now he felt guilty that his brother had died, that Liv was all alone, that he had disappointed his family...He shook his head and tried to focus on what he had to do now and enjoy the feeling of being in power for once.
He gave Jennifer one last look to assure her everything was going to be fine and she responded with a smile.
He closed his eyes and tried to concentrate."How are you going to bring Bonnie and Damon back if you have destroyed the ascendant? "
Kai opened his eyes annoyed and turned his head to Elena.
Honestly he couldn't wrap his head around why everyone was so obsessed with her. He thought she was the most annoying person he had ever met. And he was aware of how annoying he could be."Bonnie doesn't need one to get back. All she needs to do is go to Nova Scotia where Silas' headstone is, which is full of Qetsiyah's magic-infused blood. I just need to tell her how to go there and then she'll know what to do." Kai briefly explained.
Elena didn't look convinced but he didn't have nor the time or the energy to explain more to her. He didn't care what she thought she knew. He didn't even care if Bonnie and Damon would get back.
All he wanted was for Jennifer to trust him. He was doing this for her.He closed his eyes, once again and concentrated.
When he opened his eyes again he was still in the Salvatore mansion but no one else was there.
He got up and started walking around. Surely Bonnie and Damon would be close."We've been over this a million times Damon! I don't have a way to get back. I don't know how to without an ascendant." Bonnie yelled at Damon and sat on the couch hiding behind her hands.
She felt exhausted. Both mentally and physically. She had tried and searched everything and felt like all the weight of getting back to their friends was being put on her.
She had an awful feeling that their friends had abandoned them. Lost hope.
Or even worse that Kai had hurt them.
God she hated Kai.
She wanted to hurt him so bad. She wanted to put him in this goddamn prison world and never let him go again. She lifted her head and looked at the empty space in front of her.
Oblivious to the fact that Kai was standing right in front of her."Well I don't care Bonnie." Damon walked in the living room, looking like he hadn't rest in a while. He looked more angry than usual, Kai observed.
"I need to get back to her." He said in a softer tone.
"I want to get back too, Damon. But we can't... " She whispered.
"Don't say that... there's always a way." Damon came to stand in front of her.
He hugged her and started caressing her hair, more so to calm himself than to calm Bonnie.
Kai felt that annoying feeling of guilt once again. It was starting to become really irritating.
He huffed and walked over to the kitchen. Sure enough he found a small piece of paper and a pencil and he started writing.Bonnie and Damon were to busy mourning over the fact they thought they'd never see their friends ever again to notice the odd scene of a pencil writing on its own.
Kai finished writing, took the paper and placed on the table in front of the couch. Then he disappeared.
It took a moment before Damon and Bonnie realized the piece of paper that wasn't there before.
Bonnie took it in her hands and a smile appeared on her face while reading. She looked up at Damon who looked a bit confused.
"We're going home."
